Salma Hayek’s Owl Puked on Harry Styles

Salma Hayek says her pet owl once vomited a ‘ball of rat hair’ on Harry Styles. He was “super cool” about it.

-An American Gigolo reboot series has been ordered by Showtime starring Jon Bernthal. Oh, yes please!

Zoë Kravitz will direct and Channing Tatum will star in a new thriller called Pussy Island. In the interview about the movie, their exchange about Crocs is hilarious: “When someone can just come out and tell me I should not be wearing Crocs, and is so adamant about it, she completely convinced me and I never wear Crocs anymore,” Tatum said. “I was just trying to be a good friend, Chan,” she said. “I get it, but I totally loved Crocs for a hot second, and in one hang she was like, you can’t ever do that again. And I said, ‘OK, fine.’

Harvey Weinstein will be extradited to Los Angeles to stand trial for sex crime charges.

-So Kevin Hart is blaming “cancel culture” for making him feel censored. “You’re thinking that things you say will come back and bite you on the ass. I can’t be the comic today that I was when I got into this.” I guess that’s one way to make headlines when you have a new project coming out this week…

-Just after Chrissy Teigen dipped her toe back into the public arena following her bullying controversy, Project Runway contestant Michael Costello claimed she DM’d him messages like “racist people like you deserve to suffer and die.”

-There’s rumours that Brad Pitt is dating Lykke Li. I’m into it.

-On the first Late Show back with a full audience, Jon Stewart went ALL IN on the conspiracy theory that covid was leaked by a Wuhan lab (even when Colbert seemed to be trying to reign him in). Which may very well turn out to be true, but whew, this came off a bit anti-science.

-Cruel Summer (which I really liked) has been renewed for a second season. I had no idea that it’s produced by Jessica Biel.

Lin-Manuel Miranda directs and Andrew Garfield stars in the Netflix film adaptation of the late Jonathan Larson‘s autobiographical musical Tick Tick Boom. It’s about the making of Rent so I’m allllll in.

Bennifer’s Cozy Dinner

-Either Jennifer Lopez is flashing a super problematic symbol (highly unlikely), she’s giving the paps the ok (slightly more likely) or she’s just grabbing his shoulder awkwardly (most likely) in these pics of her and Ben Affleck packing on the PDA at dinner in Malibu.

-Speaking of reunited couples, Angelina Jolie was spotted leaving ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller’s house.

Chrissy Teigen has returned to the public eye sooner than I expected, but this apology she posted is very good. “I was a troll, full stop. And I am so sorry.”

Jessica Biel appeared on Dax Shepard‘s podcast and talked about welcoming her “secret COVID baby” with Justin Timberlake. “It wasn’t like it was supposed to be a secret. It was just COVID happened, and then I went to Montana with my family and never left.”

-The team behind Harley Quinn says DC asked them to remove a scene from Season 3 in which Batman goes down on Catwoman, saying “Heroes don’t do that.”

-There was a Scrubs reunion on Celebrity Family Feud.

-This deep dive into Meghan Markle hate accounts is super disturbing.

-Girls5eva has been renewed for season 2. I really enjoyed the first season. It’s joke density reminded me of 30 Rock (which makes sense, since it’s also produced by Tina Fey).

-Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is releasing a three-issue comic book about a woman who gets superpowers when she’s on her period. (Weirdly, one of the characters on the excellent new TV show We Are Lady Parts has a subplot about writing a similar comic.)

Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks made their official public debut at the Gold Dinner 2021 in Australia.

-Black Widow tickets are actually on sale. This film might finally see the light of day after all!

-Also, finally happening: Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton‘s wedding. She just had her bridal shower. She’s also been spotted wearing a new ring so maybe the ceremony has already happened?

-There’s a lot of talk about how In the Heights failed to unseat A Quiet Place II from the top of the box office, but I’m not sure that was ever a realistic expectation.

-Here’s our first look at Netflix’s Persuasion and I really don’t know how we’re supposed to be rooting for Cosmo Jarvis‘ Captain Wentworth when Henry Golding‘s Mr. Elliot is right there.

-Here’s the first trailer for the new season of The Morning Show. At least they let Reese Witherspoon ditch her terrible wig.

The Tao of Ted Lasso

Jason-Sudeikis-Ted-Lasso-EW

-EW has a spread about the new season of Ted Lasso, which can’t come soon enough!

-In Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, Nicole Kidman told Chris Rock her fears about playing Lucille Ball in an upcoming movie. “I am way out of my comfort zone right now, Chris. I’m free-falling.”

-This article about Christopher Meloni used a lot of words to just say “his butt.”

Simu Liu says that his “recent comments on the ending of Kim’s Convenience were never meant to be a massive bombshell exposé.” I’m not sure what he was expecting here.

Milo Ventimiglia is set to reunite with his Gilmore Girls boss for Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Season 4.

Jimmy Fallon thought the Canadian grocery store No Frills was an actual band.

Riz Ahmed posted an impassioned video, saying “I’m fed up of seeing Muslim characters on screen either negative or non existent.”

-I don’t watch Younger but man, are people pissed about the finale. Darren Star‘s dreams of a movie might be optimistic.

Caitlyn Jenner appeared on The View today and it did not go well for her.

Jean Smart filmed the Hacks finale’s funeral scene right after her husband died. (Also, I cannot believe this show was created by the guy who played Trey on Broad City.)

-There are a surprising amount of new TV shows debuting this summer.

-I wish Apple TV’s Physical with Rose Byrne was getting better reviews.

Megan Fox and Bruce Willis are FBI agents in the trailer for Midnight In The Switchgrass.

Ryan Reynolds lives inside a video game in the Free Guy trailer with Joe Keery and Jodie Comer.

-The first trailer for HBO Max’s new Gosssip Girl reboot has arrived. It follows a completely different set of characters from the original but is set in the same world, so I assume cameos are coming (at least from the parent characters).
