Kirsten Dunst Announces 2nd Pregnancy in W

–Sofia Coppola‘s muses Kirsten Dunst, Rashida Jones, and Elle Fanning pay tribute to her in the new issue of W — which also serves as Dunst’s pregnancy reveal.

–Sharon Osbourne will reportedly receive a $5-10M payout after leaving The Talk, and the deal allows her to speak freely about her departure because “she still wants to give her side of the story.”

–Ariana Grande revealed that she would join The Voice for season 21.

–Jennifer Love Hewitt gave an in-depth interview to Vulture about the making of Heartbreakers, and opened up about her uncomfortable experience constantly fielding questions about her body as a young actress. “For some reason, in my brain, I was able to just go, ‘OK, well, I guess they wouldn’t be asking if it was inappropriate.’ It really started with I Know What You Did Last Summer because that was the first time that I had worn a low top. -Real Housewives of SLC star Jen Shah and her assistant have been arrested and indicted by a federal grand jury on fraud charges. According to the indictment, they allegedly used telemarketing to target and defraud “hundreds of victims…many of whom were over age 55.”

-Alabama Shakes drummer Steven William Johnson is accused of child abuse. He was arrested Wednesday on charges of willful torture, willful abuse and cruelly beating or otherwise willfully maltreating a child under the age of 18.

-My Turkish soap heartthrob Can Yaman is on the cover of Vanity Fair Italia and I’m weirdly proud of him.

–Addison Rae responded to the backlash over her and Jimmy Fallon not crediting the mostly Black creators of the TikTok dances that they danced to on last Friday’s Tonight Show. “It’s kind of hard to credit during the show. Hopefully we can all reach out and dance together.”

-In her Goop podcast with Gabrielle Union, Gwyneth Paltrow talked about becoming a stepmom. “When I knew I was going to become a stepmother, I was like, ‘S–t, I have no idea how to do this. There’s nothing to read. What do I do? Where do I step in? Where do I not? How do I do this?'”

–Harry Styles, Dakota Johnson, Sienna Miller, Diane Keaton, Awkwafina, Serena Williams and James Corden will all be in Gucci’s new handbag campaign.

–Rachel Bilson says Mr Robot’s Rami Malek asked her to take down a high school photo she posted of them. “I don’t usually check my DM’s on my Instagram…maybe a week goes by and I actually look and I have a message from Rami. But it wasn’t like, ‘Hey! How are you?!’ It was straight to: ‘I would really appreciate if you take that down. I’m a really private person.’ I was like, ‘Oh, sh-t! Sienna Miller Goes Deep on Pay Disparity

-In her new Porter cover story, Sienna Miller gives explicit examples of movies in which she felt she was underpaid. For 21 Bridges, she says she asked for more because “as the woman, you’re lent on so heavily for promotion in a way that men often aren’t. What you wear on a red carpet; how much press you have to do… They are going to get their money’s worth.” She’d learned that lesson on American Sniper, when she went on the regional publicity tour because co-star Bradley Cooper was appearing in The Elephant Man on Broadway, even though she was “alarmingly underpaid.”

–Britney Spears posted a video saying that she’s “fine” and “the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.” No one believes her.

–Miley Cyrus wants everyone to stop talking about Kendall Jenner’s awful maskless birthday party and instead go to the polls and vote. It seems like there’s long lineups at the polls today, so I have faith her fans can multitask.

–John Oliver got misty talking about his first time voting in the U.S.

–Lori Loughlin has “quietly” gone to prison, and hopes to emerge for Christmas.

-Here’s a very blurry photo of Scarlett Johansson’s wedding ring, if anyone cares.

-Royal sources are now rushing to downplay the seriousness of Prince Williams’ covid case, probably because he was actively doing photo ops in the public when he was rumoured to be sick.

-You know, I would have never guessed the celebrity that kept everyone sane and amused these past few weeks would end up being Mandy Patinkin, but here we are.

-If you watched Emily In Paris and then felt really bad about wasting your time, these short YouTube videos of Alice In Paris should cleanse your palette.

-I’m intrigued by how the foursome in One Night In Miami are submitting for Oscars. I would have thought Leslie Odom Jr. would be leading actor instead of supporting. The fact that Netflix is cramming the entire cast of The Trial of the Chicago 7 into the supporting category makes me worried about his chances.

–Hilarie Burton will star along husband Jeffrey Morgan on The Walking Dead, playing his dead wife. I expect this kind of casting will continue during covid. If a character needs a love interest, using the actor’s real-life partner lets the show shoot a lot more normally than if it’s anyone else.

–Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot paid tribute to the crew of their new Netflix movie Red Notice, which just wrapped production. Posted Reynolds: “I can’t emphasize their grit enough. Over 300 souls living in a sequestered bubble to make this a reality. They went to work under the most intense circumstances every day.”

-This segment from last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers where John Mulaney asks Seth Meyers a bunch of questions was cut, but it’s pretty delightful.

-A young gay boy comes of age in in 1970s Sri Lanka in the trailer for Deepa Mehta’s latest, Funny Boy.

-Wow, Vogue Japan totally lucked out when they put Hailey Baldwin on their latest cover, having no idea she’d be Justin Bieber‘s fiancee by the time it hit newsstands.

–Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth took a wrecking ball to those split rumors with an IG story.

-Speaking of Hemsworths and social media, Chris Hemsworth secured his place as the second best Chris with this hilarious video for his wife’s birthday. I had serious concerns about her arm socket for a second or two there…

-Romance rumours surrounding Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller feel kind of inevitable at this point, no?

–Jenny McCarthy mistook her Google Home for a ghost. She’s swell.

-It feels like it’s been a minute since we’ve heard anything from Rihanna music-wise, but she’s looking to fix that. She’s reportedly working on two albums: a reggae one, and a pop one.

-My buddy Jon went to Chicago to interview Radiohead and its crew about Scott Johnson’s death, returning to Toronto and how the Canadian judicial system failed them.

-Crazy Rich Asians’ early word of mouth is GREAT.

-How the hell does a teen-targeting Netflix show that features a girl in a fat suit who only achieves agency once she gets her jaw wired shut and loses weight get made in 2018? How is that even possible? This entire fat-shaming premise is disgusting.

–This made me laugh and laugh.

-Director Gus Van Sant was originally tapped to direct Brokeback Mountain, and is spilling tea over which huge stars turned it down. “I felt like we needed a really strong cast, like a famous cast. That wasn’t working out. I asked the usual suspects: Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Ryan Phillippe. They all said no.”

-This investigation into the rumoured American Sailer Moon is weirdly fascinating.

–Christine Baranski says her high kicks have become something of a trademark. “It’s my one good dance move.”

–Amanda Seyfried did The Tonight Show’s Google Translate Songs: Mamma Mia edition, and things got really weird.

–Russell Simmons once told the staff at his yoga studio that he might become “collateral damage” of the #MeToo movement.

–Mark Duplass has walked back his dumbass tweet.

-This is a really fascinating read on celebrities and the opioid crisis. “The overall reaction to Prince and [Tom] Petty’s overdoses — and to the opioid-driven losses before them of such other popular performers as Philip Seymour Hoffman and Heath Ledger — has amounted to nothing much when it comes to awakening Americans to the scope of the national crisis.”

-A defamation lawsuit surrounding The Biggest Loser claims that former contestants are alleging the NBC show supplied them with drugs, including Adderall and the FDA-banned ephedra.

-I really liked this piece on why this year TV dramas have had so many disappointing second seasons (The Handmaid’s Tale, Luke Cage, Westworld, Legion, 13 Reasons Why, Jessica Jones), while comedies are finding their groove in the 2nd season (Atlanta, One Day at a Time, The Good Place, Glow). I think there’s something to be said for dramas getting fixated on plot twists (usually dark and grim ones at that), while comedies do better at focusing on characters you want to follow.

-Everyone and their dog is raving about the book My Year of Rest and Relaxation. I’m saving it for the long weekend!

-I’m not a comic book person, but is this really what the audience wants from Titans? A Dick Grayson who murders people and says “f**k Batman”? Because this looks cheap, terrible and certainly not worth signing up to a new subscription service for.

–Jodie Whittaker wakes up in the Doctor Who trailer they just showed at Comic-Con.

–Jennifer Lopez scams her way into a management job Working Girl-style in the Second Act trailer, which costars Leah Remini as her BFF and Milo Ventimiglia as her BF.
