-The May Beauty issue of Harper’s Bazaar features Precious Lee (photographed by Renell Medrano) and Hailey Bieber (photographed by Amy Troost).

-In case you missed the Oscars last night (and judging by the ratings, many of you did), the biggest clips to watch are Daniel Kaluuya’s mom and sister reacting to the part of his speech where he said “Life’s incredible! My mom met my dad. They had sex. It’s amazing!”, Glenn Close knowing the moves to “Da Butt”, and Yuh-Jung Yoon starting her acceptance speech by addressing her presenter (and Minari producer) Brad Pitt with “Mr. Brad Pitt, finally. Nice to meet you. Where were you when we were filming in person?”

-The weirdest thing about the ceremony (besides it starting strong and then limping to the finish), was that they didn’t announce the Best Picture winner last like usual. Instead, that honour went to Best Actor — who turned out to be Anthony Hopkins, who didn’t show up. The theory is the producers assumed Chadwick Boseman would win posthumously and the show would end on an emotional high, but instead it came to an abrupt and anticlimactic finish that seemed to undercut Nomadland’s historic Best Picture win.

Hopkins released a belated acceptance speech that tribute to Boseman. Apparently, Olivia Colman was meant to accept Hopkins’ award for Best Actor if he won — and everyone is blaming Joaquin Phoenix for instead saying “we accept the award on his behalf” and shutting it down.

Another weird decision was to barely show any clips of the nominated films and performances. It felt like the wrong move, especially since most of these films have been barely seen by the general public. I’m sure if they had shown a clip when Sound of Metal won for Best Sound, for example, it would have intrigued people enough to seek it out.

-Fashion-wise, my pick for best dressed was Zendaya, with Regina King coming in a close second. 9-year-old Minari actor Alan Kim also got points for channeling David Rose.

Aaron Sorkin attended the Oscars with 80s model Paulina Porizkova, sparking dating rumours.

-The Daily Mail has the first photos of Pete Davidson with Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor. Looks like they’re bonding over groceries and hideous style.

-The filmmakers behind the Framing Britney Spears documentary have now set their sights on Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl fiasco. Justice for Janet!

-Over 30 former employees at Scott Rudin‘s production company spoke to Vulture and described a workplace of relentless abuse, intimidation, and bullying.

-SNL announced that Elon Musk would be hosting on May 8, and the reaction was immediately negative. Even cast members Bowen Yang and Andrew Dismukes appeared to throw shade at the announcement.

-The finale for The Falcon and the Winter Solider was not great, huh?

-Ellen DeGeneres is mocking the NFT trend by trying to sell a selfie of her holding original artwork of a cat, which she’s calling “Woman With Stick Cat,” but you just know it’ll fetch buckets of money. At least she’s donating it to Chef José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen.

-Here’s the first trailer for Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, adapted from the book by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty. It stars Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Bobby Cannavale, Manny Jacinto, Regina Hall and Michael Shannon.

-Netflix released the trailer for season three of Master of None, which focuses on Denise (Lena Waithe) and her relationship with Alicia (Naomi Ackie).

-The first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story, starring Ansel Elgort as Tony and Rachel Zegler as Maria, has arrived.

Cardi B Keeps Her Eye on the Prize

Cardi B covers XXL and talks about negotiating endorsement deals (“I’m from the ’hood and sh-t. And they might be like, ‘Oh, we could offer her a $2 million advance.’ And the company is gonna make out of you, probably f—ing $50 million, $100 million. And you settle for $2 million because they think that you’re so thirsty for that money that they just gonna give you the $2 million”) and staying on top of her business dealings (“One thing for sure that I’m doing a lot now this year is music and making sure my business is straight. Not just signing things and not just making sure that I get new deals and everything. That my money is getting handled great. That I got good lawyers that’s handling my shit. Because that’s one thing that is really hard. When it comes to these new celebrities, they start learning their business more, four or five years, shit, maybe eight years in”).

-One of Hollywood’s worst kept secrets has been laid bare in a new THR story about how super producer Scott Rudin is reportedly a monster to work for. Among the allegations in a damning new exposé: he once “smashed an Apple computer monitor” on an assistant’s hand, when an employee with Type 1 diabetes told him she had to exercise 30 mins a day he only let her do it from 5:30am-6am (and still expected her to take calls then), and he’s thrown random things at employees, including a baked potato and a glass bowl.

-Gilmore Girls alums Jared Padalecki and Milo Ventimiglia are keeping the bromance vibes strong.

-Actor Zach Avery has been arrested for allegedly running a multi-million dollar Hollywood movie Ponzi scheme. He’s accused of fabricating licensing deals with Netflix, HBO, and other platforms to secure funding for his film distribution company, according to the FBI.

-Netflix has reportedly spent $30M on a docuseries about Kanye West from Coodie & Chike — decades after Coodie decided to turn his footage into a documentary about West in 2002.

Taylor Swift dropped a new song “From the Vault” — this one is “Mr. Perfectly Fine.” I’m not the hugest Swiftie but I’ve been listening to the Ringer’s podcast breaking down her albums, and them talking about how she experimented with different time signatures and layered vocals on her last two albums have really made me appreciate what a streak she’s on.

-I’ve sworn off CW shows, but the gender-swapped Kung Fu is getting good reviews. It debuts tonight.

LeVar Burton wants to guest host Jeopardy, which sounds ideal.

-Here’s the first trailer for British TV series Anne Boleyn, starring Jodie Turner-Smith.

-The first trailer for Netflix’s Jupiter’s Legacy showcases Josh Duhamel as the world’s premiere superhero.

-A new Cruella trailer has arrived.

-Did every big trailer drop today? Here’s the new trailer for Those Who Wish Me Dead, starring Angelina Jolie, Jon Bernthal, Nicholas Hoult and Tyler Perry. This looks better than the initial images made it look, since it seems less about her being a firefighter and more about her being a badass a la Salt.
