-In a new interview with Hello!, Angelina Jolie says she has a new perspective on motherhood now that her kids are older: “When your children are little you feel more ‘mommy’. When they are teenagers you start to remember yourself as a teenager. You see them going to punk clubs and you wonder why you can’t go. I’m in this fun moment where I’m rediscovering myself.”

-Last night’s TIFF audiences gave Renée Zellweger a rapturous, two-minute standing ovation at the screening of the Judy Garland biopic Judy.

-Speaking of movies that sparked with the TIFF crowd, Hustlers is predicted to open big this weekend.

Joaquin Phoenix stormed off the Joker set a lot, according to the director. What is it with actors being jerks on Batman-y sets (Christian Bale, Jared Leto, Phoenix)? And the irony that this happens on a movie which critics say is about toxic masculinity is really something…

-I agree with this piece on how this might be the best fall TV season in years. There are at least three new network shows that I’m going to give a chance (Stumptown, Emergence and Nancy Drew) — which is three more than last year.
