Mariah Carey Is Making Spirits Bright

-Queen of Christmas Mariah Carey graces the December  digital issue of Elle. In the interview, she talks about why the season is so special to her: “After I kind of emerged from my first relationship-slash-marriage [to Tommy Mottola] I created the Christmases that I wanted to have. A lot of very bad stuff happened to me when I was 12. But also, there is the spirit of that kid, that fighter who doesn’t give up, who does embrace who she is, even though the world didn’t understand that from my point of view.”

–Miley Cyrus gave another no-holds-barred interview to Howard Stern, saying that during the pandemic “I have a lot of Facetime sex” and that there was “too much conflict” in her marriage to Liam Hemsworth: “When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone. I don’t get off on drama or fighting.”

-It’s Britney Spears‘ birthday and she’s celebrating with her most disturbing IG post yet.

-The Morning Show just cast Julianna Margulies in season 2 and while I didn’t love the first season, this is damn fine casting.

–Taylor Swift has debuted her re-recording of Love Story in a Match ad with Ryan Reynolds.

–Hailee Steinfeld has been seen filming Hawkeye as Kate Bishop, even though Marvel hasn’t even confirmed she’s in it yet.

-The Academy insists the upcoming Oscars will be in person. That’s cute.

-I don’t usually care about NBA players’ marriages, but damn this is messy.

–John Mulaney says he was investigated by the Secret Service after his SNL monologue. “I guess they opened a file on me because of the joke, and I have to say: Am I stoked there’s a file open on me? Absolutely. Did I enjoy it in the moment? Not so much.”

-Wow, Sasha Obama is gorgeous.

–Kaley Cuoco and Margot Robbie might both portray Harley Quinn but they’re not feuding — cause they’ve never even met.

-I will buy the shit out of Jennifer Lopez’s skincare line.

-I saw Our Friend at last year’s TIFF and Jason Segel and Dakota Johnson were so good, I completely forgot about the Casey Affleck of it all.

Rihanna Introduces Fenty Skincare

–Megan Thee Stallion says she’s “incredibly grateful to be alive” after suffering multiple gunshot wounds Sunday morning. Wait, what?!?  I thought she was injured by glass.

–Nick Cannon is speaking out against ViacomCBS after the company fired him yesterday for making anti-Semitic comments. He’s demanding an apology and the rights to Wild ‘N Out.

–Diddy and Dwayne Wade are some of the celebs showing Cannon support.

-Interestingly, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had a piece in The Hollywood Reporter earlier this week calling out anti-Semitic rhetoric by Black entertainers and sports stars.

-It looks like Kanye West is abandoning his (fake) presidential bid.

–Elizabeth Chambers officially filed for divorce from Armie Hammer, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Meanwhile, he trended today because of some shady looking screenshots of DMs that I don’t actually believe are real.

-A bunch of celebrities and politicians’ twitter feeds have been hacked to promote a bitcoin scam.

-Maroon 5 co-founder Mickey Madden has taken a leave of absence from the band following an alleged domestic violence arrest.

-2020 continues to be the weirdest: Ghislaine Maxwell is reportedly being moved from ‘cell to cell’ in prison to avoid assassins.

-Here are all the celebrities in Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s inner circle that are probably really nervous right now.

-You know what’s weird? When the Parks and Rec reunion episode was happening there was so much build up and buzz, but I have barely heard a peep about tomorrow’s 30 Rock episode. NBC isn’t doing screeners for critics, and a bunch of affiliates are refusing to air it — they see it as an ad for their streaming competitor Peacock and NBCU cable networks like Syfy and USA.

-Meanwhile, this is an interesting look back at 30 Rock’s product placement and how they pretended to be above it.

–Dakota Johnson once mused about bisexuality in a 2017 interview and Twitter has jumped on it today as if it’s a new quote for some reason. Time is a flat circle.

-I can’t imagine why Hayden Christensen would agree to revisit the Anakin Skywalker role after all the hate he got from Star Wars fans, but I guess mortgages don’t pay themselves.

–Gracie Cox, a former Hollywood costume designer, is speaking out about an alleged 2005 sexual assault by Entourage’s Kevin Connolly during the wrap party for his directorial debut, The Gardener of Eden. The film’s lead costume designer recalls Cox telling her of the incident right after it happened, and says she immediately confronted him, which witnesses confirmed to the Daily Beast. Four of Cox’s friends also confirmed she told them about the incident in the following days. He’s denied it, saying the encounter was consensual.

–Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt star in the trailer for Netflix’s latest action movie, Project Power.

–Scarlett Johansson covers EW to promote Black Widow. She talks about only having met Florence Pugh a few times before they filmed their first scene together (“Immediately we were in each other’s space, like, ‘All right, I’m going to grab your armpit, and you put your hand under my knee in a pretzel'”) and why she didn’t want the movie to just be “like Bourne, but with a woman” (“I hope that this film continues pushing that boundary, so that we can actually have more female superheroes who are inherently female, and aren’t just Batman in heels or whatever”).

-The Hollywood Reporter just released their stars and their stylists issue, which I always adore.

-Wow. Harvey Weinstein just got 23 years in jail, which is close to the maximum possible sentence, if his terms were run consecutively, of 29 years. The judge said “This is your first conviction, but not your first offense.”

-Meanwhile, before sentencing he said in the courtroom “I am totally confused. I think men are confused about these issues. Thousands of men are losing due process. I’m worried about this country.” It’s pretty ballsy to complain about a lack of due process — when you’ve just been afforded it.

–Jenna Dewan gave birth to baby No. 2, a boy she named Callum Michael Rebel Kazee.

–Wendy Williams called out Nicki Minaj for marrying Kenneth Petty, who registered as a sex offender this week following a 1995 conviction for first-degree attempted rape. “You should’ve never married him because now you’ve ruined everything about what your brand could be.”

–Dakota Johnson‘s gives Architectural Digest a peek inside her home and I kind of love it.

-This video of today’s daytime talk shows with no audiences due to covid-19 is very eerie.

–Naomi Campbell showed up to a flight from LA to NYC on Tuesday clad in a full hazmat suit, surgical mask and latex gloves included. Look, I had to self-isolate today due to this damn virus and even I think this is irresponsible and panic-inducing.

-Westworld is trying to make it seem like its truly reinvented itself for season 3, but in the end it seems like it’s just more of the same.

–Jon Bernthal is set to star in an American Gigolo TV reboot at Showtime and wow, do I love that casting!

-Speaking of shows I want in my eyeballs immediately, Scott Foley has been cast to headline a dramedy about the ballet.

–Brad Pitt is coming to HGTV for Celebrity IOU With Drew and Jonathan Scott. Each episode will feature a star getting hands-on with the brothers to imagine a design plan to reward their mentors, friends or family member.

-The Ellen Show got the three Love Is Blind couples together for a game of Never Have I Ever.

-Meanwhile, I’m kind of shocked that Gwyneth Paltrow watched Love Is Blind.

–John Krasinski says he and Ryan Reynolds “turned into 14-year-old boys” when they got to meet a surprisingly friendly owl at Reynolds’ daughter’s birthday party.

–Colin Firth and Julie Walters star in a new adaptation of The Secret Garden.
