Jennifer Lawrence Jumps on the Bennifer T rain

-Meanwhile, ARod’s latest Instagram post (which makes it look like he’s leaving empty seats at his dinner table for JLo and her kids) is embarrassing. Please continue.

–Nicki Minaj called last year’s hit-and-run death of her father “the most devastating loss of my life.”

-Netflix is capitalizing on the success Bridgerton with a limited series that will tell Queen Charlotte’s origin story. It will be interesting to see if they actually lean into her race, since the main criticism of the series has been its handwaving away of racism.

–Gillian Anderson will guest star on The Great, which might make me catch up on the show. I watched the first two episodes and liked it, and then promptly forgot about it.

–Gwyneth Paltrow, Miranda Kerr and Katy Perry all trolled Orlando Bloom over his poncho photo. Wait until they realize the world is never going back to non-drawstring pants.

-Also, Orlando is now buddies with Prince Harry.

-Black-ish is coming to an end after eight seasons.

-I don’t watch Batwoman, but apparently the show has fumbled Ruby Rose’s departure.

-iCarly is back! The 13-episode season will pick up nearly 10 years after Nickelodeon’s original show ended.

-It feels like there’s a lot of new pop culture dropping this weekend — the Angelina Jolie’s firefighter movie on HBO Max, Amy Adams‘ Woman in the Window on Netflix (both getting a mediocre reception) and Ewan McGregor‘s Halston on Netflix (hated by critics) — but the only new thing that’s getting glowing reviews is Jean Smart‘s new comedy Hacks on HBO.

-I already never, ever want to hear the word “cheugy” again. Is Drew Barrymore cheugy? Are you? Is it over yet?

-NBC are giving the Golden Globes time to “do the work” and get their house in order before the confirm they won’t air the show anymore.

–Ellen DeGeneres‘ farewell tour continues to be a disaster.

Justin Bieber Talks “Tough” Year of Marriage

–Justin Bieber is on the new cover of GQ, and he talks about his marriage to Hailey Baldwin (“The first year of marriage was really tough because there was a lot going back to the trauma. There was just a lack of trust. There was all these things that you don’t want to admit to the person that you’re with, because it’s scary. You don’t want to scare them off by saying, ‘I’m scared'”), on having children (“Not this second, but we will eventually”) and his faith (“He is grace. Every time we mess up, He’s picking us back up every single time. That’s how I view it. And so it’s like, ‘I made a mistake. I won’t dwell in it. I don’t sit in shame. But it actually makes me want to do better'”).

-He also give GQ a look inside his tour bus, which is insane.

–David Tennant faked having a personal assistant so he didn’t have to attend events he didn’t want to go to, becoming my personal hero.

–Pete Davidson said he’s with his “celebrity crush” amid Phoebe Dynevor romance rumours.

-Netflix has renewed Bridgerton for seasons 3 and 4 which, if they continue to follow the books, will focus on Benedict and Colin, respectively.

-Meanwhile, Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers talked to Vanity Fair about staying in the Bridgerton business, and the intense way fans are mourning the loss of RegĂ©-Jean Page‘s Duke of Hastings.

–Lady Gaga‘s underrated 2013 album ARTPOP hit the top 3 on iTunes as fans continue to circulate a petition to release more songs from the LP. Gaga tweeted: “I fell apart after I released this album. Thank you for celebrating something that once felt like destruction. We always believed it was ahead of its time. Years later turns out, sometimes, artists know. And so do little monsters. Paws up”

-Meanwhile, Gaga was spotted wearing a poufy white wedding dress on the set of the Gucci movie.

–DMX‘s family released a statement to dispel rumours. They clarified that no one is buying his master recordings and warned of scammers pretending to raise money for his upcoming memorial

-Minari’s Yuh-Jung Youn continues to be a delight. When asked about staying home during the pandemic, she said “Staying in bed the whole day is my pleasure and my hobby. I like to watch TV or just doze, not thinking about anything. I’m sorry to say I’m really enjoying quarantine. I don’t have to see anybody. I can just stay home 24 hours a day in bed, my favorite place.”

–Kevin Smith‘s new horror movie will be sold as an NFT. The Daily did a whole podcast today about NFTs, and I still don’t get the appeal.

–George Clooney, Noah Wyle, Julianna Margulies and other ER alums are coming together for a special Earth Day episode of Stars in the House to support The Actors Fund amid the pandemic.

–Madonna took a commenter to task for their thoughts on gun control.

-The creators of Netflix’s Shadow and Bone adaptation promise they’ve improved Mal, one of the book’s most problematic characters. The Shadow and Bone books were ok, but honestly I’m excited to watch this show because it’s also going to feature characters from the sequel series Six of Crows, which were MUCH better books.

-Here’s the trailer for the final season of Shrill starring Aidy Bryant.

-Here’s the first trailer for The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, starring Ryan Reynolds and Salma Hayek. Using “Hit Me Baby, One More Time” in a trailer for a hitman movie is gold.

Bridgerton Is Coming Back

-Netflix is officially returning to Bridgerton, which has been renewed for a second season. Producers confirmed it’s following the books, which means next season is all going to hang on the casting of Kate (book 2 — and the series’ — best character). Simon is barely in this book, but I have to imagine they’ll beef up his scenes to keep RegĂ©-Jean Page around. And godspeed if they try to adapt the unintentionally hilarious scene in which Kate gets stung by a bee in the chest and her love interest tries to suck the stinger out…

-The Bachelor’s Clare Crawley and Dale Moss’ split has turned messy. There’s been sighting for months of him with other women, and now she’s speaking out about learning of their broken engagement the same time as the rest of the world: “The truth is I am crushed.”

-Six months after filing for divorce, Christina Ricci has filed for a restraining order against her ex-husband James Heerdegen, alleging “severe physical and emotional abuse”, and saying “many of these acts of abuse” took place in front of their son.

–George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer reunited in the latest Actors on Actors video and it was wildly charming. They first met when he was dating her sister! He told a story about being drunk on the set of One Fine Day after a wild night. “I got to the set, and we walked to the trailer and I sat down and you looked at me. You go, ‘What?’ And I was like, ‘I didn’t know we were going to work today.’ And you go, ‘You’re still drunk.’ ”

-Meanwhile, Pfeiffer is making the jump to TV, playing Betty Ford alongside Viola Davis in a Showtime series called The First Lady.

-Maybe Jojo Siwa just likes this song? It is a banger, after all.

–Megan Thee Stallion is setting the record straight after a false report claimed the charges were dropped against rapper Tory Lanez.

-Oof. What a terrible magazine cover for poor Sarah Paulson.

–Katy Perry’s performance on the inauguration special got me right in the heart guts. So did Demi Lovato’s and the Broadway sing along. (I’m not sure if it was officially a sing along but it was in my house!)
