All Hail, Baby Archie!

-Cue the jingle jangle jokes: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry called their baby Archie. The couple has chosen not to use courtesy titles so it’ll be Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. When Charles is King he’ll automatically become Prince Archie, but he (or his parents) may choose not to use it.

-Earlier today, Meghan and Harry presented the baby in a brief interview, and they both looked glowingly happy. (I love what she wore.)

-Meanwhile, George Clooney says he hopes for  kinder treatment of Meghan in the media going forward.

-In other baby news, Amy Schumer called her son Gene.

Stephen Colbert surprised Anne Hathaway last night on the Late Show by introducing her to RuPaul and she cried.

-Have we traveled back in time? Britney Spears has been granted a temporary restraining order against Sam Lutfi for herself, her children and her parents.

-Even the guy who plays Gendry thinks that Game of Thrones marriage proposal was silly. “He just got a bit gassed and asked someone to marry him. And she quite rightly told him where to go. What a stupid question! I think he knows deep down in his heart of hearts there is no way Arya will ever be anyone’s lady.”

Jennifer Garner made the cover of People’s Most Beautiful issue. She joked about the honour on Ellen: “People is now a magazine for AARP. I have never been more nervous than I am today. I guess I just thought you guys would boo. Like, you guys are expecting Kaia Gerber, and it’s me. And I feel like bolting. I feel like I should go, you know what I mean? Because it’s so ridiculous. It’s silly, but it’s nice.”

-What’s with successful musicians coming after music critics this week? First it was Lizzo, and now Ariana Grande. (Also, it’s super cute that they seem to be under the impression music freelancers make money. Like, adorable.)

-In a new interview, Amy Poehler talks about the #MeToo movement, saying “I’ve been trying to unpack my own deep institutionalized misogyny.” That’s all well and good, but she still appears to be managed by Dave Becky, Louis CK’s manager who many others have dropped.

Diddy discussed life after Kim Porter’s untimely death, saying “Three days before she passed, she wasn’t feeling well. She had the flu, and she sent the kids over to my house so they wouldn’t get sick. One night I was checking on her, and she was like, ‘Puffy, take care of my babies.’ She actually said that to me before she died.”

Britney Spears took to Instagram to reassure fans that she’s fine and to put an end to the #FreeBritney movement.

-This is not cool. Daniel Portman, who plays Podrick on Game of Thrones, says certain female fans made his life pretty miserable for a while due to their astounding lack of boundaries and groping.

-Meanwhile, excuse me as I get choked up while watching Game of Thrones cast and crew talking about the knighting of Brienne.

-I kind of love that the dude who played Lane on Mad Men is a GoT superfan who has crazy theories about the next episode.

Anne Hathaway says she ended her veganism when she and Matt Damon when to a seafood-heavy Michelin-star restaurant in Iceland. “I had a piece of salmon and my brain felt like a computer rebooting.”

-The Empire cast has signed a letter of support for Jussie Smollett. Meanwhile, his character on the show is getting a big, history-making wedding.

Kim Kardashian West is the latest celebrity to get Vogue’s 73 Questions treatment — and it’s the most extensive glimpse we’ve gotten of their weird, blank canvas-y house. How do they actually live there? There’s no furniture!

-After weeks of speculation, Wendy Williams filed for divorce from her husband of 20 years amid rumours he had a baby with his mistress.

-This is a big deal. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are breaking from tradition and avoiding the dog and pony show outside the hospital after welcoming their kid. Instead the palace says they have “taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private” and that “look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

Lori Loughlin is reportedly coming to terms with how much trouble she’s in. A source tells E!, “Lori is finally realizing just how serious this is. She is seeing the light that she will do jail time and is freaking out.”

-I wrote a Game of Thrones refresher before this weekend’s premiere and when doing some season 7 rewatching, I realized I had forgotten A LOT.

-Meanwhile, James Corden made one of his writers binge GoT in one, 67-hour sitting.

Donald Glover and Rihanna‘s Guava Island, a music-driven, hour-long film shot largely in secret in Havana, is dropping this weekend. It’s a tropical thriller written by Glover’s brother and costaring Letitia Wright featuring Glover playing local musician character is determined to throw a festival for his island community. It’ll premiere on Coachella’s YouTube channel this weekend ahead of Glover’s headlining set, and stream for free on Amazon.

Drake‘s Euphoria starring Zendaya just got a premiere date and trailer.

-I guess people still aren’t over Theranos? Kate McKinnon will play Elizabeth Holmes in a new Hulu miniseries.

-Disney’s upcoming streaming service keeps adding new shows. The latest is a Love, Simon spinoff.

-Reading this interview with Bret Easton Ellis and seeing how Isaac Chotiner destroys him really made my day.
