Bridgerton Is Coming Back

-Netflix is officially returning to Bridgerton, which has been renewed for a second season. Producers confirmed it’s following the books, which means next season is all going to hang on the casting of Kate (book 2 — and the series’ — best character). Simon is barely in this book, but I have to imagine they’ll beef up his scenes to keep Regé-Jean Page around. And godspeed if they try to adapt the unintentionally hilarious scene in which Kate gets stung by a bee in the chest and her love interest tries to suck the stinger out…

-The Bachelor’s Clare Crawley and Dale Moss’ split has turned messy. There’s been sighting for months of him with other women, and now she’s speaking out about learning of their broken engagement the same time as the rest of the world: “The truth is I am crushed.”

-Six months after filing for divorce, Christina Ricci has filed for a restraining order against her ex-husband James Heerdegen, alleging “severe physical and emotional abuse”, and saying “many of these acts of abuse” took place in front of their son.

–George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer reunited in the latest Actors on Actors video and it was wildly charming. They first met when he was dating her sister! He told a story about being drunk on the set of One Fine Day after a wild night. “I got to the set, and we walked to the trailer and I sat down and you looked at me. You go, ‘What?’ And I was like, ‘I didn’t know we were going to work today.’ And you go, ‘You’re still drunk.’ ”

-Meanwhile, Pfeiffer is making the jump to TV, playing Betty Ford alongside Viola Davis in a Showtime series called The First Lady.

-Maybe Jojo Siwa just likes this song? It is a banger, after all.

–Megan Thee Stallion is setting the record straight after a false report claimed the charges were dropped against rapper Tory Lanez.

-Oof. What a terrible magazine cover for poor Sarah Paulson.

–Katy Perry’s performance on the inauguration special got me right in the heart guts. So did Demi Lovato’s and the Broadway sing along. (I’m not sure if it was officially a sing along but it was in my house!)

–Chrissy Teigen is the only celebrity the official presidential Twitter account follows — because she asked for it.

–Seth Rogen didn’t come to play when it came to Ted Cruz.

–Josh Hartnett is the latest celeb to reveal that he secretly welcomed a new kid last year during covid.

–Amanda Palmer might not be welcome in New Zealand anymore.

-In the new trailer for The CW’s Superman & Lois, their teen sons figure out Dad’s secret identity.

-The Walking Dead continues to trudge along. Here’s the trailer for season 10.

–Allison Williams has to learn how to fly a plane mid-air in the Horizon Line trailer.

Jennifer Lopez’s Inauguration Performance Gets Mixed Reviews

–JLo’s performance at the inauguration was, um, interesting. But I adored the white outfit — and the photo shoot.

–The New Radicals‘ appearance at today’s inauguration makes more sense when you learn that “You Get What You Give” was the Biden family’s breakfast rallying song when Beau was going through cancer treatment. *sob*

–Lady Gaga took her tech entrepreneur boyfriend Michael Polansky to the inauguration.

–Rihanna had today’s best social media post.

-I’m not a huge James Corden fan but his “One Day More” song with Broadway stars was pretty spectacular.

-There’s no update on the Shawn Mendes/Camila Cabello engagement rumours but she’s making headlines for her charitable work: she’s teaming with Movement Voter Fund to launch the Healing Justice Project, which will focus on giving frontline activists access to mental health support.

–Danny Masterson has pleaded not guilty to charges of raping three women and is out on $3.3 million bail.

–Lori Harvey and Michael B Jordan continue to enjoy their blissful bubble.

-Variety’s latest Actors On Actors video features Daniel Kaluuya and Tom Holland, and it’s all very charming. Holland says he broke his laptop when he found out he’d landed Spider-Man: “I flipped it up in the air. It fell off my bed. My dog went nuts. I ran downstairs. I was telling my family, “I got the part! I got the part!”‘

-Lupin (a French Netflix show about a gentleman thief who steals a diamond necklace for revenge) is on track to reach more households than recent buzzy fare such as Bridgerton and The Queen’s Gambit.

-I haven’t started it yet but the reviews are glowing.

-Every time there’s a fluffy People story about Kristen Bell, I remember Deux Moi’s recent posts about how she’s being groomed to take over Ellen’s job.

-I just got all caught up on The Boys (I blame Aya Cash) and am now crushing on Jack Quaid. This IG Live in which Jane Levy assures him he’s hot is hilarious.

-Netflix stock hit an all-time high today.

–Jovan Adepo, Grace Van Patten and Mary J. Bilge star in The Violent Heart trailer.

Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas: Rubbish or Reconciling?

-The latest on the BenAna split: Page Six is reporting that Ana de Armas has been looking at rental homes in Los Angeles, which throws their official line about wanting to live different places into doubt. Their source claims they broke up because she wants kids and he wasn’t willing to commit to it.

-I’m not sure how amicable it all can be when Ben Affleck had de Armas’ life-size cardboard cutout tossed in the trash in full view of the paparazzi.

-Still, sources are claiming a reconciliation is entirely possible.

-Meanwhile, these are clearly breakup bangs.

–Dua Lipa is sorry that her random emoji smashing made everyone think she’s pregnant.

–Miley Cyrus overshared in a new interview, offering her opinion on penises: “It’s good if it can just get in and go away, because I don’t want it eyeing me up. That’s truly how I feel…Everyone knows that tits are prettier than balls.”

-All five seasons of the original Muppet Show is coming to Disney+, including two seasons that have never been released on home video.

-It’s kind of wild to me that Freaks and Geeks is going to air on Hulu with the show’s original soundtrack. That must have been an insane music licensing deal. I guess that’s one way for 80s bands to keep making money.

-Tonight’s episode of This Is Us has been postponed due to covid production delays.

-Supermodel Stephanie Seymour‘s son has died at age 24. Harry Brant passed away from an accidental overdose of prescription medication on Sunday, according to a statement from his family. His parents say he was just “days away” from rehab.

–Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster hopped on a Zoom call to reminisce about Silence of the Lambs, and talk about his new movie The Father.

–Meghan Markle’s legal team went to court today to seek a “summary judgment” against the Mail on Sunday.

-Tiger King’s Joe Exotic has a stretch limo waiting for him outside his prison, convinced that Trump is going to pardon him today.

–Lil Wayne is also reportedly expecting a pardon.

-This is a great interview with a bunch of late-night show writers on what it was like trying to wring humour from Trump’s actions over the past four years. “It’s like drinking poison: How much poison can I make myself drink today?”

–Josh Duhamel is in talks to replace Armie Hammer in that Jennifer Lopez movie.

-Cheetos is teasing its new Super Bowl ad with Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.

-I couldn’t get into the new Saved by the Bell reboot, but people seem to love it so I’m glad it’s been renewed for a second season.

-The trailer for the second Euphoria special episode focuses on Jules. It drops this weekend.
