Chris Pratt Is Keeping It Real

–Chris Pratt wrote a Facebook post about how normal his life is.

-Speaking of notes that made me laugh,  Damon Lindelof’s letter to critics that he included with The Leftovers screeners is hilarious. He drops references to Joss Whedon and Fleabag, he avoids telling critics how to do their jobs, and then he wraps it up by lightly shading Matthew Weiner.

–Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly speaking again — but only about the kids.

–Ryan Gosling explains why he laughed when La La Land had the Best Picture Oscar taken away. “I thought there was some kind of medical situation, and I had this worst-case scenario playing out in my head. And then I just heard Moonlight won and I was so relieved that I started laughing.”

-The new NYT profile on John Mayer is titled “John Mayer Knows He Messed Up. He Wants Another Chance.” Well, he’s a rich white dude so I’m guessing he’s got at least another dozen coming…

–Kate Winslet opened up about being bullied as a child: “They “teased me for wanting to act. Locked me in the cupboard. Laughed at me.”

-Wait, the Love Actually reunion will air tomorrow in the UK?! I wonder if I can book a boardroom for when this thing hits the web so I can squee over it in peace?

–David Boreanaz has already signed on to his next TV role. After eight years on Buffy/Angel, and then 12 on Bones maybe he should just sleep for a bit?

-The new Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why, exec produced by Selena Gomez, is getting glowing reviews.

-This is a good piece on how Hollywood is getting way too much credit for tiny gestures towards LGBT inclusivity.

-Remember Maggie Rogers, the NYU music student who blew Pharrell Williams away with her demo? Now she’s killing it on James Corden’s show and getting New Yorker profiles. Put her new EP in your ear holes right now!

-Oh god, the full trailer for The Handmaid’s Tale is devastating. This is going to be a hard watch given the current climate.

-The red band trailer for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri might be the best trailer I’ve seen in a long, long time. I think I fell a little bit in love with Frances McDormand just watching it. (I was already in love with Sam Rockwell. Obviously.)

Diane Kruger and Norman Reedus Are Still a Thing

-Well, this is hardly surprising. Diane Kruger and Norman Reedus were spotted kissing in NYC.

-When Ryan Reynolds and Stephen Colbert stare at the stars, they can answer life’s biggest questions.

-I could watch Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal interviews all day long. This one is hilarious. So is this one! Can we get a sitcom, please?

–Jake was in a much better mood with Ryan than he was with this Guardian interviewer.

–George Clooney just met his biggest fan. Really? Huh. I don’t remember meeting him.

-This is a pretty frank interview with Lewis Tan, who was on hold to play the lead in Iron Fist before he was offered the role of a one-off villain. He was treated horribly, but it sounds like he dodged a bullet.

-Just when you thought the press around Iron Fist couldn’t possibly get worse, the original creator offers this bon mot: “Don’t these people have something better to do than to worry about the fact that Iron Fist isn’t Oriental, or whatever word? I know Oriental isn’t the right word now, either.”

-Meanwhile, I hate how people are mocking this 35-second Iron Fist fight scene because it has 56 cuts. That doesn’t seem like the editor’s fault. It seems like the poor guy got the footage and tried his best to salvage it.

–Ashley Olsen has reportedly broken up with her 58-year-old “financier” boyfriend.

–Allison Williams as a blonde is alarming.

-Sorry bros, Jessica Chastain will not let you mansplain to her on Twitter.

–Selena Gomez opened about about getting negative comments on social media: “It’s like they want to cut to your soul.”

-I don’t watch MST3K, but the trailer for the reboot makes me think maybe I should.

-Both Variety and The Wall Street Journal published in-depth, data-driven reports this week about how the cable sector is killing off struggling niche networks.  We knew this last year, but this year we have charts!

-My friend Karen and I get together every week to hang out and watch old shows, usually Angel, Buffy, Firefly or The X Files. Coincidentally, all of those are leaving Netflix April 1.

-Jesus. A judge has rejected Kesha’s latest effort to void her record contract and suggested Dr. Luke‘s abuse was “foreseeable.”

–Lindsay Lohan wants to steal your phone for her new prank show. Sure.

-The musical episode of The Flash was so charming and cute, it was easy to overlook the many plotholes. (Y’all need to simmer down with this talk that it was better than Buffy’s, though.) Despite all the buzz about it, it somehow didn’t manage to move the ratings needle.

-The first full-length Fargo season 3 trailer has arrived.

-Goddamnit if just hearing the music in this Love Actually reunion trailer didn’t make me a little emotional. I’m glad it’s airing on NBC; I thought for sure we’d have to wrestle with geo-blocking to watch this thign.

Jenny Slate Opens Up About Chris Evans Split

-Part of me is surprised that Jenny Slate spoke so openly about her breakup with Chris Evans in her New Yorker interview (especially since he deflected those questions in his recent Esquire cover story), but the bigger part of me loves her answers so much that I’m not going to question it. It’s all gold, but my favourite part is this: “To be quite honest, I didn’t think I was his type. Eventually, when it was like, ‘Oh, you have these feelings for me?’, I was looking around like, ‘Is this a prank?’ I mean, I understand why I think I’m beautiful, but if you’ve had a certain lifestyle and I’m a very, very different type of person—I don’t want to be an experiment.”

-I’ve never seen Bates Motel, but Rihanna’s live stream of her watching her debut was pretty adorable.

–Kristen Bell says therapy is the secret behind her happy marriage to Dax Shepard.

-Well well well: newly divorced Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist is dating costar Christoper Wood. That explains a lot of blind items from the past few months.

-I don’t even get the point of why Brad Pitt‘s camp would plant this article. How does this make him sympathetic?!

-The Missing Richard Simmons podcast ended early and abruptly — and it left a lot of people debating the value of good intentions vs. the invasion of a celebrity’s privacy.

–Jake Gyllenhaal is on Broadway now and he has no time for your questions about Taylor Swift, ok?

-Is Hollywood headed for another writers strike? It has barely recovered from the last one, especially on the TV side. (I would still love to see what Heroes would have turned out like after season 1 if the strike hadn’t totally torpedoed it.)

-I thought I was pretty much done with The Flash after the last episode, but damn it if I’m not excited about it’s musical crossover with Supergirl tonight. The non-spoilery reviews are glowing.

-Following last week’s revelation that Armie Hammer is into rope play based on his likes, the actor still hasn’t figured out how to use social media.

–Selena Gomez reveals that Hacksaw Ridge made her cry during her “73 Questions” for Vogue.

-I forgot that iZombie is coming back. Yay!

-In other great TV news, Phoebe Waller-Bridge‘s Fleabag is getting a second season.

-So Tim Allen is not a great guy, huh?

–Meghan Markle talks about her annoyance at having her freckles airbrushed out of photoshoots in Allure’s issue on racism.

–Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Piper Perabo, and Antonio Banderas star in the new Black Butterfly trailer.
