Shia LaBeouf told a story about wrestling Tom Hardy while naked that has to be heard to be believed.

-One day after Nick Carter filed a restraining order against his younger brother Aaron, court documents reveal that Aaron allegedly told their sister he “thinks about killing babies and has thought about killing [Nick’s pregnant] wife, Lauren.”

-A heavily bearded George Clooney appeared at a news conference in London to call for ending human rights abuses in South Sudan after presenting findings of a new report from his watchdog group, The Sentry.

Tom Welling will reprise his Smallville role in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover, ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths. At some point in the very near future, it will be easier to list who *won’t* be appearing in this thing.

Celine Dion is not impressed by rumours that Drake wants to get her face tattooed on his body. “Please Drake, I love you very much. Can I tell you something? Don’t do that. You can write me love letters, you can send me autographs for my kids, you can come and visit. I can have you home for lunch or dinner, we can go for a drink, we can sing together. Whatever you want to do. I can talk to your mother. Whatever you want, but please…”

-Yay for Schitt’s Creek’s Dan Levy, who just landed an overall deal with ABC Studios. I will always remember him as the host of the first after show I’d ever seen — for The Hills, of all things.

-I binged Netflix’s Unbelievable (not a great idea, considering the subject matter) and I couldn’t get over how empathetic it was. All of the performances were great, including Toni Collette and Kaitlyn Dever, but I think Merritt Wever in particular is doing something special here. She so quietly powerful.

Connie Britton doesn’t think a Friday Night Lights reboot is a good idea. Preach!!

-A reboot I can get behind is The Nanny with Cardi B.

This video of Jennifer Lopez learning her routines for Hustlers is insane.

Sarah Silverman says “cancel culture” is “a mutated McCarthy era, where any comic better watch anything they say.” Uh, hard pass. Comedians can say whatever they want — but they also shouldn’t be excused from the consequences.

-Here’s the first trailer Alfre Woodard‘s Clemency. Just Mercy was the death row film that got the most amount of buzz at TIFF, but this one has stuck with me since seeing it.

-Apple+ unveiled more info about it’s new TV shows. The streaming service will launch in Nov for $4.99/month (US) which is cheaper than most others. They also offered EW exclusive looks at their new shows, including The Morning Show with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and a trailer for Jason Momoa‘s blind dystopia series.

Britney Spears has been granted a new conservator after her dad Jamie temporarily resigned — supposedly due to his health issues but this comes days after Britney’s ex Kevin Federline filed a temporary restraining order against Jamie for allegedly breaking into the room of their son Sean and shaking him.

-This costume designer interview about an unnamed “famous actor” is so juicy. “The actress comes into the fitting room, we try this suit on, and she looks at it and decides that she hates the suit because the pinstripe on the fabric is too wide. The pinstripe is making her look fat.”

Based on an original story by Millie Bobby Brown and her sister Paige, Netflix is developing A Time Lost: a film about a feud between two families that comes to a head when one daughter is diagnosed with cancer. Anyone else just hoping that Millie gets to nap soon?

-Is Meryl Streep pulling a Scarlett Johansson? In Netflix’s upcoming film The Laundromat, which debuted at TIFF last night, director Steven Soderbergh has Streep playing a second character in disguise near the end of the film: a Panamanian office drone “wearing prosthetics and putting on a thick pan-Latin accent.” That sounds…problematic.

-Well, this is good news: critics say Joker is too tame to be incel bait.

-Was Joaquin Phoenix referring to wife Rooney Mara in his TIFF speech when he said: “Somewhere here, I don’t know where, is a fervent dragon, and I want to rip its wings off, fashion a blanket and sleep with it forever. I love you. Thank you”?

Kim Kardashian continues to insist it didn’t occur to her that naming her shapewear line Kimono would be offensive.

-This oral history of Vampire Diaries is kind of fascinating — mostly because no one wanted Paul Wesley to play Stefan. Creator Julie Plec says “We were sort of pressured into casting Paul Wesley against our desires,” while Nina Dobrev remembers telling producers after her chemistry reads with potential costars: “I don’t know who I connected with the most but I definitely probably connected the least with that Paul Wesley guy.”

-This is terrible: Riverdale star Camila Mendes reveals she was roofied and sexually assaulted in college.

-Netflix’s new miniseries Unbelievable, which stars Toni Collette and Merrit Wever, is getting fantastic reviews.

Jenny Slate is engaged to someone who is not Chris Evans.

Ewan McGregor is a now-adult Dan Torrence in the follow up to The Shining, Doctor Sleep.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Photographed Together

-We were just gifted with our first blurry photo of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry together. Merry Christmas to us!

-12 years ago, The Sun was also the first to get a photo of William and Kate together — and the palace was furious.

Amber Heard just publicly called out Johnny Depp for working with tabloids to start rumors. “I was responding to the leaks by Johnny’s agents bragging that I had settled for substantially less than a reported, earlier offered sum and attempting to label me a gold digger.” Hot day-um!

Rosemarie DeWitt and Ron Livingston (two actors I love but always forget are together) have adopted a daughter.

-So it turns out the Passengers press tour is more entertaining than the movie, according to critics. It’s at a dismal 24% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, EW gave it a D+, Variety said it was “lost in space” and The Guardian gave it 2 stars out of 5.  Everyone seems to have issues about how Chris Pratt‘s character does something morally reprehensible.

-Speaking of bad new movies, I saw Collateral Beauty last night. You shouldn’t. At least the reviews are hilariously vicious. Vulture rounded up the meanest ones.

-This is an interesting read on SNL’s anti-TV bias. I’ve never really thought of this, but SNL doesn’t invite many TV stars to host.

-The best thing about Denzel Washington promoting a new movie is that we get to hear his wisdom drops. First it was his take on fake news, and now  it’s his comments in THR’s director roundtable.  “People talk about the difficulty of making a movie and I’m like, send your son to Iraq, that’s difficult. It’s just a movie. Relax. I don’t play that precious nonsense.” Preach!

Megan Fox is reportedly eyeing the Poison Ivy role in Gotham City Sirens. Huh.

-Yet another How I Met Your Mother spinoff is in the works, this one from the writers of This Is Us.

-SNL’s Taran Killam playing Hamilton’s King George is brilliant casting.

-The weird thing about this NYT article on Stephen Amell‘s wine venture is that it makes it so clear that he isn’t really focused on the quality or winemaking process. Which maybe is a good thing? My BFF and I share a fancy wine club subscription and their selection process and tasting notes are INTENSE. But any interest I had in joining Amell’s wine club disappeared when he posted this “tasting” video on FB. They clearly don’t know what they’re doing. I’m no wine expert or snob, but I at least know how to pour and taste. They don’t even changes glasses! (On the plus side, his feet look really big in the photo that accompanies the article, so there’s that.)

-Is Bradley Cooper getting married? Irina Shayk has been spotted sporting a diamond.

Nicole Kidman says she and Keith Urban don’t exchange Christmas gifts. As someone who hasn’t started her shopping yet, this sounds like a good plan!

-I just assumed hosting the Oscars would mean a big paycheque. I guess not.

Toni Collette unravels a mystery in the trailer for Jasper Jones.
