-I’ve never been able to get into Silicon Valley because its lack of female characters (and the way they treat the few they have) put me off, but it’s interesting that THR’s new cover storyis so openly critical of ex-cast member TJ Miller. “There had been stretches when, multiple show sources say, he looked to have things under control, and others when he’d show up seemingly under the influence, if he showed up at all…Table reads would start late as the cast and crew waited on the untamable actor, and when he did arrive he typically hadn’t cracked open the script. Schedules would regularly have to be rejiggered, and sources from the set recount tales of Miller falling asleep between takes.”

-The Wrinkle In Time reviews are in, and they are decidedly mixed. From all the reviews I read, I think this tweet sums up the critical response: there’s something visceral about it that works on you or doesn’t.
-Whoa. Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew are being written out of Grey’s Anatomy. I don’t really watch that show much anymore, but I caught a recent episode and it seemed like Arizona had zero story and they’d really messed up April, so I guess that makes sense.
-The worrisome stories continue: Dean McDermott reportedly called 911 and asked them to check on Tori Spelling‘s well-being.

-Yikes. Selena Gomez‘s mother was hospitalizedafter reportedly having a “heated conversation” with her daughter about Justin Bieber. That’s going to make for an awkward holiday season..
–Issa Rae is working on not one, but two shows and they both sound amazing.
-Silicon Valley actor T.J. Miller has been accused of brutal sexual assault. The accuser, speaking publicly for the first time, says it happened in college. The accusations were addressed by a student court at George Washington University at the time and Miller has told friends over the years that he was wrongfully accused. In the Daily Beast’s deeply researched report, five GW students at the time corroborated details of her story.
–Miller has denied the allegations, saying “Sadly she is now using the current climate to bandwagon and launch these false accusations again.”
-Not surprisingly, everyone today is remembering that time Miller hosted the Crunchies and repeatedly called Gabi Holzwarth a bitch. And more stories about him being a not-great guy are coming forward. He was already cancelled by many people because of a series of unfortunate interviews earlier this summer.
-I love that #damonsplaining is becoming a thing. Can we make it trend??
-I’m also enormously satisfied that Damon is getting called out as being “completely forgettable” in the reviews for his new movie.
-Wait, Terry Crews illustrated the cover of Ad Age’s Creativity 50 issue? Is there anything this man can’t do?!? (Besides getting white Hollywood to support him?)
-The Pitch Perfect reviews are in and they…aren’t good. THR calls it “soulless.” At least EW thinks it’s charming, so there’s that!

-Wow, the backlash to The Last Jedicame hard and fast. Most of the criticism I saw on Twitter was about its failure to answer questions The Force Awakens raised, which is just a big shrug emoji for me.

–Sophia Bush opened up about her shocking exit from Chicago P.D.I love this part: “[I told them] I’m giving you 23 episodes notice. I’m giving you that much time. So there will be no conversation in which I was hysterical, emotional, in which I was being a quote irrational female or whatever you want to put on it. I’m literally sitting in front of you like cool as a cucumber. If this has to be like a big swinging d— competition, I promise you I will win.”

-Hollywood has clearly run out of ideas. NBC is eyeing a revival of The Office, with a mix of old and new castmembers.
–Rose McGowan dragged actresses like Meryl Streep for planning to wear black in protest at the Golden Globes, and then Amber Tamblyndragged Rosefor dragging Meryl, and then Meryl was like “um, what’s with all the dragging?” I don’t disagree with Rose that the black dress this is kind of pointless. I like the suggestion that a big name actress take the founder of #MeTooas her date.
-The director of Bad Santa has come forward to say he was also discouraged from hiring Mira Sorvino. Can she sue Miramax for damages?
-God good, how has no one stopped Matt Damon from talking yet?!? Now he’s saying that when it comes to whether or not he’d work with someone accused of sexual misconduct: “You know, it would be a case-by-case basis.” He also insists we aren’t talking enough about men in Hollywood who aren’t predators. GAH!! He needs a time out.
-This is a great read on how Hollywood’s sexual offenders should face the law. This was the one thing that struck me about Damon’s initial comments (beyond being fed up with men’s knee-jerk reaction to immediately feel the need to qualify/rank offences, as if misconduct isn’t all stemming from the same systematic, power tripping issues), was his comment about how Louis CK has already paid such a “price” that Damon is sure he won’t do it again. What price? The loss of a career (that btw was a privledge, not a right?). That’s not a price, that’s a consequence. Dude exposed himself to unwilling participants. That’s a criminal offence. He should be rejoicing for escaping jail time.

-Director Tracy Letts says everyone was nervous on the set of The Post, except Carrie Coon. “She just has ice water in her veins. She’s like an assassin. She’s the one person who was not nervous, and I think everybody found that a little disconcerting.” God, I love her.
-I totally forgot that one of the girls in Parenthood once convinced all of her costars to be in a music video, and even got Michael B Jordan to rap in it. It holds up.
