Blake Lively’s Controversial Casting

-I wasn’t a fan of Colleen Hoover‘s It Ends With Us so I really didn’t care who they cast as Lily in the movie adaptation, but wow are people angry over the new set photos of Blake Lively.

-Sounds like Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and her mom had a scary time in NYC last night when paparazzi engaged in a “near catastrophic” chase with their vehicle.  Their security detail was overwhelmed by photographers in cars and on motorcycles and scooters. CNN reports they were pursued “for hours” and then went to a police precinct, where they switched cars and took a yellow taxi to shake off the paps. Witnesses and the cab driver are playing it off like it wasn’t that big of a deal, but I get why this kind of thing would be especially triggering to Harry.

-They were in New York for the Ms. Foundation Women of Vision Awards, and Meghan wore a very cute, very unroyal dress.

–Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford have split after nearly a year of dating.

-Gross: Jimmy Fallon‘s staff reportedly found out yesterday that after this week, they’re being put on an “unpaid leave of absence” as the writers’ strike continues, while other late night hosts are continuing to keep their staff paid.

-A Vanderpump Rules producer offered insight on how they were able to capture all the Scandoval drama: The TMZ story that broke the affair news was published on March 3 — but Ariana Madix had called production on March 2, and cameras were at their house when the news came out.

–Elle Fanning brought some drama to Cannes in a custom Alexander McQueen princess gown.

-Meanwhile at Cannes, I’m not sure that Helen Mirren’s outfit was in support of Amber Heard (she says it wasn’t), but I do love how angry people are that it might have been.

-I will say, the amount of people who seem disgusted by Johnny Depp’s warm welcome at Cannes is surprising. I’m seeing quite a few tweets from those who supported him during his trial, and then read the unsealed docs and changed their mind.

–Brie Larson has to deal with so much crap and she always handles it so beautifully. I would have flipped that table.

-One of the worst things about the Rolling Stone expose on Chris D’Elia is that women say he got worse after the initial abuse allegations came out. Is this what happens when you’re MeToo’d with no consequences? You’re just emboldened to continue? Great.

–Martha Stewart says: “I’ve had absolutely no plastic surgery whatsoever. I take my vitamins. I eat very healthfully. I have very good skin doctors. I’m very careful in the sun. I wear hats and I wear sunblock every single day.” Ok.

-Critics are going gaga over Jason Momoa’s heel turn in the new Fast & Furious flick.
