George Clooney’s Beauty Secret: The Flowbee

George Clooney‘s CBS This Morning interview is generating lots of headlines for the part where he talks about cutting his hair with a Flowbee (“My haircuts take, literally, two minutes”), but the full 8-minute interview is full of gems.  He remembers discovering he was having twins (“I was up for one! I’m like, ‘I’m old.’ All of a sudden it’s two and I literally … it’s hard to get me to not talk and I just stood there for like 10 minutes, just staring at this piece of paper going, ‘What, two?!’ “) and talked about being in lockdown at home (“It’s been a while since I did 15 loads of laundry in a day and mopped floors and all these doors over here I stained. I always say I felt like my mother in 1964, because she had two kids and no help. I don’t know how she did it now. I have more sympathy for her now than ever”).

Cardi B is apologizing after tweeting that she had 37 people over for Thanksgiving while most people couldn’t even see their family. She says she felt safe because she gets tested 4 times a week because of work. At what point are celebs going to realize preventive testing doesn’t work? You can have it for days before it shows up on the test (and tests aren’t foolproof anyway). I don’t love shaming individuals when I think it’s mostly the fault of the government/public health for not making things clearer, but for the love of god, stop broadcasting your protocol-breaking shenanigans all over social media.

-Chef David Chang became the first celebrity to win $1 million on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Felicity Huffman has landed her first TV role since completing her prison sentence.

-Welp. The finale for The Undoing was not good, prioritizing red herrings over characters who act in any way that makes sense. A more interesting script would have had the person who gave the case-turning testimony have to reckon with the fact that they were so blind to what was happening under their nose, but instead we got a really underwhelming car chase. I really liked this take: “No one likes to feel that they have been duped or that they wasted their time, even if eliciting that feeling serves a broader storytelling point, and that’s basically what this series did.”

-Speaking of 6-episode limited mystery series, The Flight Attendant is FUN. The first three episodes dropping on Crave last week; the next three are this week.  I didn’t know Kaley Cuoco had this in her but she’s so, so good.

Alison Brie says the first time she met Ellen Degeneres, she accidentally showed her a dick pic. That must have gone over well.

Kelly Clarkson has been granted primary custody of her and Brandon Blackstock’s two kids in Los Angeles amid their divorce. He’s reportedly seeking $436k/month in support.

-The UK’s Culture Secretary is demanding Netflix make it clear The Crown is ‘fiction‘. He knows how scripts and cameras and actors work, right?

Hailey Bieber Talks About Her Delayed Wedding

Hailey Bieber Justin Bieber Elle cover

Hailey Bieber covers Elle and talks about why she wanted a big wedding ceremony with Justin after being married for a year: “When we first got married, we were just figuring out our life together. I felt like putting a wedding in the middle of all of that would be really hectic and stressful.” She also says his health factored into the delay. “He was really sick. He has Lyme disease, and he was dealing with a bunch of medical stuff. We didn’t have a diagnosis…It was hard because everybody from the outside was being super mean and judgmental, saying he looked like he was on drugs, saying how unhealthy he looked when in truth, he was not healthy and we didn’t know why. It was months of me being a new wife trying to help him figure out what was wrong and what was going on. Now he’s perfectly healthy. But going through that and then trying to be like, ‘So where does our wedding fit into this?’ didn’t feel like the vibe at all.

Rosario Dawson covers Women’s Health and opens up about dating presidential hopeful Cory Booker (“It’s been beautiful feeling nurtured and taken care of. I’ve never been this close to someone. We make sure we connect. That’s something I’ve taken for granted in the past”) and giving up pot and alcohol after her dad’s cancer (“I feel so contaminated by the planet, and seeing my dad going through this journey, I want to cleanse my body. I want to have as much clarity as possible and be very intentional about every day”).

Chris Pine with grey in his beard is….oh. Oh my.

-“Hey, don’t run off to Canada. It’s so boring there,” Madonna told Harry and Meghan in an Instagram video. For someone who’s struggling with her current tour, it’s probably not a good idea to piss off an entire country.

-Meanwhile, friends say Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feel like “a weight has been lifted” after moving to Canada and they are “loving it” here.

-Also, this is a delicious read on Meghan Markle‘s ambitions.

-Ohhh boy. Jameela Jamil is fighting back after news outlets announced her as the host of a new show about vogueing. She says she’s just a judge, but the HBO press release listed her as the MC. People in the culture reported interviewed for the gig, leading everyone to wonder why Jamil was chosen (whether as an MC or judge) over Indya Moore, Billy Porter, Angelica Ross, Dominique Jackson, Jose Gutierez Xtravaganza, etc.

Sophia Bush shows off her new home and it’s very lovely but wow is that decor not for me.

Hugh Jackman celebrated the anniversary of his “truce” with Ryan Reynolds by promoting both of their beverage brands.

-The CW’s new Superman show will feature Clark and Lois’ teenage kids. I’ve vowed to quit superhero TV so I’m trying not to care but this intrigues me.

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin play “I’m Too Old For That Shit“. Fonda talking about the reason she got knee replacements killed me.

-The final round of Oscars voting has ended, so it’s time to read the first brutally honest ballot in The Hollywood Reporter and cringe. “I want an American director to win.”

-Speaking of the Oscars, this is a good piece on how Joker ran the best campaign of awards season. “There’s this pervading assumption that the notoriously prickly Phoenix, a man who openly called the Oscars ‘bullsh*t’ and has never loved the spotlight, is not campaigning this year. This is simply a flat-out lie…make no mistake, this is a man doing the work of getting an Oscar. He’s turning up at all the parties, he’s done the big splashy Vanity Fair cover story, he’s working the room and saying the right things on the podium.”

Elle Fanning tries to take care of her mentally unstable father (Javier Bardem) in the trailer for The Roads Not Taken.

Emilia Clarke Celebrates Her Birthday

Emilia Clarke is a total dork and I kind of love her for it.

Jennifer Garner and the boyfriend we all forget she has are still going strong after one year(!) together.

-Meanwhile, Ben Affleck is reportedly hitting up Raya, the dating app for famous people.

-We’re getting a love story starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci, which sounds like it was sourced directly from my secret diaries.

Pete Davidson is now reportedly dating a supermodel. What. Is. Happening.

Harvey Weinstein showed up at a comedy event last night, invited by the organizers (because apparently people still invite him to things?!). Bless this female comedian who called him out during her set.

-Yikes. Rosario Dawson and family members are being sued by a former associate who claims they were transphobic.

Kanye West is doing press for Jesus Is King, (which a select group of listeners heard in full Wednesday night, so this thing actually exists!), and says he banned sex outside marriage during the creation of the album: “There were times where I was asking people not to have premarital sex while they were working on the album. There were times where I went to people that were working on other projects and said can you just work and focus on this?” That seems like a totally fair and rational request.

-Since their merger, Disney is placing the Fox film library in its vault and denying repertory showings to most theaters, which sucks incredibly hard.

-I have never read a historical romance novel but the fact that this author says she modeled her heroine after Jada Pinkett Smith in Magic Mike XXL put it immediately on my TRL.

-When Zoe Kazan discovers her abusive husband is beating their son, she flees with her kids to Manhattan despite having no place to live in the trailer for The Kindness of Strangers.
