Selma Blair Is a Survivor

Selma-Blair

-In her Town & Country interview, Selma Blair talks about living with multiple sclerosis, and the power of makeup (“Makeup is not trivial to me. If anything moves the needle for me in my life—even before my diagnosis or challenges—it is my gorgeous war paint…I don’t mind if my muscles get caught at the intersection of a slow brain signal. I just want those words to come from lips covered in Chanel gloss”).

-In news no one was expecting: How I Met Your Mother is getting a spinoff on Hulu called How I Met Your Father, starring Hilary Duff.

Prince Harry and the Queen reportedly spoke privately on at least two different occasions while he was home for the funeral of Prince Philip.

-Meanwhile, Harry is now back in LA.

Zac Efron (who is currently filming in Toronto) and his Australian girlfriend Vanessa Valladares have reportedly split after 10 months of dating.

-Speaking of splits, Jennifer Lopez‘s camp is saying she broke it off with ARod because she could no longer trust him.

-I’m so glad Shadow and Bones (which hits Netflix this Friday) is getting such glowing reviews — it’s 93% on RottenTomatoes. “Game of Thrones meets your fave CW show” sounds like perfection. I thought the original trilogy was pretty good but then ended up reading the other series, Six of Crows, since the show will also feature those characters too, and that series was amazing. I’m not surprised that the Crows segments (which are less magic-y and more heist-y), seem to be getting the most attention. I’m also very glad the show retained all the shipper goodness.

-Odd couple Lucy Hale and Skeet Ulrich are an odd couple no more.

Robert De Niro‘s lawyers claim he’s working at an unsustainable pace in order to support his estranged wife. He’s also suing a former employee.

-Though the popular assumption online is that there’s some sabotage via glam going on backstage, The View hairstylist says that her intentions are pure and not at all passive-aggressive.

-A new season of Master of None is coming in May. I loved that show, but I’m not sure how I feel about seeing more Aziz, though this season will reportedly focus on Lena Waithe’s character, Denise.

-Chanel is replacing their annual Oscars dinner with luxury at-home gift boxes. About 150 VIPs will receive boxes while the legendary French fashion house makes a donation to The Actors Fund.

Lizzo introduced Taurus season with a nude selfie.

LeVar Burton is getting his wish to guest-host Jeopardy.

Eric Bana plays a federal agent investigating the decades-old death of a teenage girl in his hometown in The Dry trailer.

Daisy Ridley Covers British GQ

-I don’t know why British GQ styled Daisy Ridley like a mechanic, but I’m kind of here for it? I also dig her comments about royalty: “I’m going to tell you something so shocking for Americans but not Brits; I don’t massively care about the royal family. I am not a royalist. Buckingham Palace is great but it’s an unused building, isn’t it? The other day, there was a story that the Queen uses six rooms in the palace. Six. How is that a good thing? It’s prime real estate.”

-I was really worried when I saw that Princess Anne was trending this morning, but it turns out it’s just because she’s a badass. She was part of the conversation with Trudeau in which he and other world leaders mocked Trump, and then was scolded by the Queen when she refused to meet with him. I think I love her.

Tom Hanks, Shia LaBeouf, Robert De Niro, Adam Driver, Jamie Foxx and Adam Sandler take part in THR’s drama actors roundtable, and it’s a pretty decent discussion (though De Niro barely talks). I like Hanks’ view on comedy: “Can you be funny if you grew up with a built-in swimming pool in your backyard? I don’t think you can. If you grew up being able to swim any time you wanted to, you experienced none of the shortcomings of life that you turn into self-deprecation. You can’t do it.”

Kesha is throwing her name into the mix of stars who have entered the cosmetics world with the launch of her makeup line, Kesha Rose Beauty.

Camila Morrone has no problem with her 23-year age gap with boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio. “There’s so many relationships in Hollywood—and in the history of the world—where people have large age gaps. I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date.”

Jennifer Lopez is hosting SNL this weekend, and I wish they’d given her a better promo.

-Bad news: that Michael Jackson musical appears to be going forward, and it will be “a part-puppet show in which the late singer’s alleged history of child sex abuse is blamed on a glove-shaped alien forcing Jackson to feed on boys.” Good news: despite earlier reports, rep for Johnny Depp says that he and his company are not producing or involved in any way.

-This is terrible: Mena Massoud says he couldn’t get an audition after starring in Aladdin, which made $1B.

-Riverdale costars Camila Mendes and Charles Melton are no longer dating…for now.

-If I currently looked like Kate Beckinsale does at 46, I’d be unapologetic about posing in a bikini too.

Daniel Craig is back as Bond in the No Time to Die trailer. I’m loving that Léa Seydoux is in this. I’ve only seen her in weird French movies and I love her.

Women Rule on EW’s Game of Thrones Covers

ewcover-maisie-williams-game-of-thrones

-All of the Game of Thrones covers EW is running are great, but I’m going to be super bummed if I don’t get Arya or Brienne in my mailbox tomorrow.

-Despite what everyone was reporting this morning, Jon Lovitz is NOT engaged to 90210 star Jessica Lowndes. It was just a publicity stunt for her new music video. A really creepy publicity stunt.

Hugh Jackman helped his 15-year-old son and another swimmer when they got caught in a riptide, and his son looked at him like “gawd, dad! You’re so embarrassing. Just let me die or whatever…”

-Did Lady Gaga celebrate her 30th bday as a married lady?

-Another teaser for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt has landed. This show makes me stupid happy.

-Speaking of things that make me stupid happy, here’s another adorable clip from The Wine Show. I love that Matthew Goode and Matthew Rhys seem totally sloshed in all of these…

-This is pretty wonderful: Judd Apatow, Kevin Nealon, Kathy Griffin and more honoured Garry Shandling with a pickup basketball game, which he used to host weekly.

-Arrow’s Emily Bett Rickards and Colton Haynes made a very silly dance routine to Taylor Swift‘s “Shake It Off” which sounds exactly like something my friends and I would do. We just wouldn’t post it to YouTube. Bless them.

Robert De Niro ended up pulling that anti-vaxx doc from the Tribeca Film Festival. I love how @NYTHealth tweetstormed the crap out of it.

Jennifer Lopez is going to be a guest on James Corden’s new Carpool Karaoke show. Here for it.

-I was trying to explain to my coworkers why I didn’t hate Batman V Superman as much as I thought I would, but then I realized that everything I was mentioning was a negative (with the exception of Affleck‘s performance). I also realized pretty quickly that I couldn’t explain any single character’s motivations for anything that they did. Like, what exactly was Lex Luthor’s plan?!

-Even Michael Shannon, who is in Batman V Superman, could not possibly care less about the clash between Batman and Superman.

-Not surprisingly, the film opened huge but the box office is dropping fast. Like history-making fast. Let’s see if it makes it past that rumoured $1B required checkpoint…

Alec Baldwin was the first choice to play Mr Big on SATC? Just….no.

-Another TMNT 2 trailer that kind of makes me want to see it. I don’t understand life.

Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe ham it up in the Nice Guys trailer.
