Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk Split

-It looks like the rumours (or more likely, the carefully placed heads up articles) were true: Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk have split after four years of dating and one child. Oh gawd, the Cooper/Gaga shippers are gonna have a field day…

-I very much like Mindy Kaling‘s Glamour cover interview. She talks about her public persona (“I think there’s been a tendency for people to conflate my characters with my personality. The fact of the matter is, I wrote 24 episodes of The Office. That’s more than any other person on The Office, but no one can really picture me sitting and doing the hard work of writing the episodes. It’s like it doesn’t compute to people because I can wear all pink and re-create Beyoncé videos”) and how she’s chill about approaching 40 (“Because I never had a career based on my physical beauty, I’m approaching aging without much dread. I was never the person who was, like, Mindy ‘The Body’ Kaling”).

Jada Pinkett Smith addressed rumours of of cheating in her relationship with Will Smith: “No, but there’ve been other betrayals of the heart that have been far bigger than I could even think in regards to an infidelity situation.”

-This is the very best part of that new Courtney Love interview: “Right now, I’ve become really ensorcelled by this Venusian fertility cult in the Valley. They’re beautiful women, all related to each other. [Ed note: Love is referring to the Kardashians.] ”

Jon Favreau‘s The Chef Show on Netflix looks delightful. The clip in which Favreau reminds Gwyneth Paltrow that she was in Spider-Man is especially great. “You were in Spider-Man: Homecoming.” “No, I was in Avengers.” “You were in Spider-Man also…With the press conference at the end?” “That was Spider-Man? Oh my god!”

-In the latest Actors on Actors interview, Penn Badgley talks to Gina Rodriguez about why people find his murderous stalker on You so charming: “The cultural norms that we’re still all indoctrinated by that incline us to forgive a certain kind of person. Namely someone who looks like myself, less so someone who looks like you.”

-In Chris Pine‘s conversation with Robin Wright, he weighs in on the Make America Great Again movement: “What period of history are we talking about? Jim Crow? Slavery? Plantation masters?”

Billy Porter talking about straight actors being given gay roles is amazing. It’s especially amazing because he’s doing it in front of Richard Madden and Hugh Grant.

-Meanwhile, Hugh Grant says every career decision he made during his rom-com heyday “was probably wrong“: “I should’ve made interesting decisions and done different stuff. Instead, I repeated myself almost identically about 17 times in a row.”

-Entertainment Weekly just became a monthly magazine and cut some of my fave writers. This is the end of a goddamn era.

-A random asshole asked Zendaya on a date during a Q&A for Euphoria.

Olivia Colman, Kaitlyn Dever and Alice Englert star in the All Have Their Sins trailer which is produced by [double-checks notes] Gerard Butler.

Emma Roberts Talks BFF and Book Clubs in Cosmo

emma-roberts-cosmo

-In her Cosmo cover story, Emma Roberts skirts questions about her split from Evan Peters (“I never want to talk about relationships I’m in or that are ending or have ended. It’s hard enough to be with someone by yourself, let alone with an audience”), instead preferring to talk about what books she’s currently reading. Fair enough.

Kumail Nanjiani is the latest celeb to appear on Gay of Thrones in an episode that is way more enjoyable than the one they’re recapping.

-Speaking of the last episode of Game of Thrones, Jessica Chastain blasted the show for that Sansa moment, tweeting: “Rape is not a tool to make a character stronger. A woman doesn’t need to be victimized in order to become a butterfly. The little bird was always a Phoenix. Her prevailing strength is solely because of her. And her alone.”

-Uh oh. Britney Spears’ mother believes her daughter is in such bad shape she’s requesting the court date over conservatorship be moved up to Wednesday.

-I spent a lot of time last night trying to figure out whether a Met Gala outfit was camp or not. Check out some of the most memorable outfits.

-Also, I can’t stop staring at this photo of Michael Urie on the Met steps.

-After years of trying to keep their relationship under wraps, Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx made a rare public appearance at the Met Gala together.

-Every year the Met Gala has a “no selfies” rule, and every year celebrities break it.

George Clooney says he “hit the jackpot” with his wife and kids. Five years ago, I never would have thought that I’d be typing that sentence…

-Oh no. I was hoping Nicholas Brendon (Buffy’s Xander) had turned his life around recently, but he has been charged with felony domestic violence. He could face up to four years in prison if convicted.

-Get ready for soo many Avatars and Star Wars. Disney is now scheduling each franchise every other year, starting with Avatar 2 in 2021.

-Poor Channing Tatum. His passion project Gambit continues to remain in development hell.

-I kind of love that Chris Evans is having the best box office moment of his life, and still went to his high school reunion.

Richard Madden in talks to join Angelina Jolie in Marvel’s The Eternals and I don’t hate that at all.

Richard Madden is on a promo blitz for Rocketman, which includes an interview with Elton John. He also did an interview with British Vogue, in which he talked about feeling insecure about his body when shooting sex scenes (“I find myself with actor friends – after we’ve done a kind of barely eating, working-out-twice-a-day, no-carbing thing for these scenes – looking at each other going: ‘We’re just feeding this same s**t that we’re against'”) and how he’d be down with playing “a Bond boy.”

-Yesterday, Felicity Huffman was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and will plead guilty. She told the court, “I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community.” And today, Lori Loughlin was indicted on money laundering in addition to her previous mail fraud charge.

-In other court news, Smallville’s Allison Mack tearfully pleaded guilty to racketeering charges yesterday.

-This is the second interview in a month in which Julianna Margulies talked about not appearing on The Good Fight because they wouldn’t pay her the same rate she got on The Good Wife. I don’t disagree with her but … this feels odd.

-I don’t watch The Young Pope, but I understand why these photos of Jude Law shooting the new season just set the internet on fire.

-The Bold Type is back tonight and while I like that show, I’m bummed that it sounds like the worst character is still terrible.
