Amber Heard Welcomed a Daughter

–Amber Heard is a mom. She revealed she welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Oonagh Paige Heard, via surrogate in April. The actress tweeted “I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib.”

–Taika Waititi seems unbothered by that viral photo of him making out with Tessa Thompson and Rita Ora. “I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick. And also, ‘Is it that big a deal?’ No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It’s fine.”

–Angelina Jolie was spotted hanging out with The Weeknd and now everyone thinks they’re dating.

–Lisa Rinna is not loving her daughter hanging out with Scott Disick. “She’s 19, he’s 37 with three kids. Hello!”

-After recordings of the remote audio from Britney Spears’ 24-minute statement during her conservatorship hearing circulated widely online, L.A. County courts have decided to end their remote audio attendance program completely.

–Iggy Azalea says she saw Jamie Spears’ “abusive” behavior towards his daughter firsthand.

-TV networks are grappling with whether or not to interview Bill Cosby. Why would they? He’s just going to deny everything and express zero remorse…again.

-Meanwhile Phylicia Rashad tried to walk back her praise of Cosby‘s release.

–Tabitha Brown very sweetly told Wendy Williams to mind her own business.

–Joy Behar’s reaction to Meghan McCain‘s announcement that she’s leaving The View was everything.

–Machine Gun Kelly changed the name of his new movie after Mac Miller’s brother took offense.

–The Bold Type’s final season was kinda meh. But at least everyone agreed that Sutton’s wedding dress was hideous.

-This is a really interesting article on the CW dramedy In the Dark (which cast a sighted actress in the role of the blind lead character) and what the performance of blindness means to those with varying degrees of sight.

-Ooh…The Unhoneymooners is being made into a movie. This is one of my fave romcom books.

-I’m digging Taylor Swift‘s new song.

–Stephen Lang returns in the Don’t Breathe sequel. Jane Levy, however, does not — and was not impressed by the director’s patronizing comments about how they excluded her for her own good.

–John David Washington fights for his life in the trailer for Netflix’s Beckett.

Chris Evans Helps Betty White, Wins the Internet

-Captain America himself Chris Evans made the entire internet ovulate when he jumped up to escort Betty White up the stairs at last night’s PCAs.

-Speaking of the PCAs, Viola Davis expertly shaded the New York Times in her PCA acceptance speech.

–Chris Pratt didn’t make it to last night’s People’s Choice Awards, but he appeared in the opening skit with wife Anna Faris, who hosted.

-The PCAs are beyond pointless and its online voting system means the gongs just end up going to whichever show/movie has the most fervent fandom but I’m still glad Jane The Virgin and The Flash won, especially if it means more people will watch The CW.

-Speaking of CW stars, Stephen Amell continues to use his Facebook page to do amazing things for charity.

–Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin are giving their relationship another go, according to People (which basically means according to their publicists).

-I really liked this article about Taylor Swift’s image strategy when it comes the photos of friends she posts on Instagram.

–Jimmy Fallon is on a roll this week. First he inadvertently dissed Nicole Kidman and then he arm-wrestled with Liam Neeson.

-Fargo has added Nick Offerman, Kieran Culkin, Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson and Jean Smart to its S2 cast. All those people are great but I really hope there’s still room for an unknown to break out like Allison Tolman did in S1. However, the latest issue of EW had a script preview featuring a scene between Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons, and my interest is officially piqued.

–Jennifer Lopez may have reunited with that trolly guy whose name I never bothered to learn.

–Jessica Chastain shot down Russell Crowe’s ageism remarks (yay!) while Meryl Streep defended him (boo!).

-This is flames: Alan Sepinwall reviewed every episode of The Wire twice, once for newbies, once for veterans.

–Phylicia Rashad says she was misquoted when she defended Bill Cosby, but her “explanation” doesn’t really help matters.

–Jennifer Love Hewitt is expecting her second child with the dude from Revenge.

–Chris Pratt told Ellen the cutest story about his son. “He’ll say, ‘Hm, I thought about it and no thanks, Dad, Not right now,’ and I’m like, ‘HE’S SO POLITE! What am I supposed to do?'”

-Also, Chris “randomly” showed up to Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and it was amazing.

-I really liked this article with Wes Anderson’s cinematographer talking about how he shot nine iconic scenes.

-The people behind Serial have responded to Kevin Urick and The Intercept interviews. Good for them. The tone of that last article was so petulant.

–Drake continues to make all of the rest of us here feel like bad Torontonians.

-The final four episodes of Parenthood begin airing tonight. I really liked this article on how it’s one of the last family-centred dramas left, especially since it references the wonderful and underappreciated Once and Again. (Most O&A eps are on YouTube, including one of my favourite hours of television ever — and seeing as it features Mischa Barton, that’s really saying something!)

–Olivia Wilde is back from the dead in first trailer for The Lazarus Effect, which seems like Flatliners: The Sequel.

–The Voices trailer makes it seem way better than the actually movie is. Blame Anna Kendrick.

Blake Lively Talks Motherhood with People

–Blake Lively just gave birth 0.04 seconds ago, and already has a People cover story about what it’s like being a mom. Say what you will about her, but girlfriend’s got game.

-I don’t know if I’ve ever liked Nicole Kidman as much as I did while watching her make Jimmy Fallon squirm on his show last night, when she recalled the time she went to his apartment — but he didn’t realize it was a date. I love how she refuses to let him off the hook. “You wore sweatpants!”

-They also played Box of Lies. I’m impressed by how expressive her face is in this.

–Gugu Mbatha-Raw is going to play Matthew McConaughey’s wife in a new movie, which will hopefully make her the huge star she deserves to be.

-I want to go to Allison Janney’s parties now.

-Well, I no longer think Benedict Cumberbatch‘s engagement was part of his campaign. He and his fiance are expecting a cumberbaby.

-Speaking of awards campaigning, The Hollywood Reporter has a good article on actors who are on Broadway, overseas or otherwise too occupied to play the game. (Jennifer Aniston clearly doesn’t have this problem.)

-Meanwhile, Aniston says she’s afraid of the ocean. But I thought she liked screaming at it?

-This is troubling: Agent Carter’s ratings were good, but not great. Premieres tend to get big numbers and subsequent eps drop off from there. This is a tougher starting point.

–Tina Fey and Amy Poehler discuss their unique approach to hosting the Golden Globes. “God as my witness, I’m not going to dope beforehand. I’m gonna do this one clean.”

-First, we learned that Channing Tatum writes emails exactly like you’d hoped he would. Now we learn that his YouTube playlist is exactly what you’d hoped it would be.

-Well, this is disappointing. Phylicia Rashad spoke out about the allegations against Bill Cosby, defending her TV husband and saying “forget these women.” #byefelicia

–Sia’s new music video involves Shia LaBeouf in a cage match, if that sounds like you’re thing.

-First Serial’s Jay went on the record with a post-podcast interview, and now it’s prosecutor Kevin Urick’s turn.

–George Clooney’s 1990s movie-business dramedy that he’ll produce (and maybe even appear on!) has landed at Showtime.

–Ethan Hawke plays a drone pilot who questions the ethics of his job in the new Good Kill trailer.
