Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Trailer

-This weekend’s Comic Con delivered the new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer. I was sure Shuri was going to be the one to end up in the Black Panther suit, but with that last shot I’m not so convinced now.

-In a new interview, Alicia Vikander talks about a “painful” miscarriage with Michael Fassbender (“We have a child now, but it took us time. [The miscarriage] was so extreme, painful to go through”), and fighting loneliness when she was a rising star (“When, in other people’s eyes, I was at my height of fame, I was the most sad. I kept telling myself, ‘Take it in. It is incredible.’ But I didn’t know what to do. There were all these first-class flights, five-star rooms. But I was always by myself”).

Paul Sorvino, best known for Goodfellas and Law & Order (but he’ll always be Juliet’s dad to me) has died at age 83.

-The producers of the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon say the show “pulls back” on the amount of sex but will depict sexual violence inherent in its Middle Ages-inspired world: “[We] don’t shy away from it. If anything, we’re going to shine a light on that aspect. You can’t ignore the violence that was perpetrated on women by men in that time.” Please just don’t. We don’t expect or need a show about dragons to focus on realism — especially if it means falling into the rape-as-plot trap GoT often did.

-This is an interesting take from someone who went to see one of Beanie Feldstein’s final shows in Funny Girl. “In the lobby during intermission and after the show, I heard a resounding sentiment, repeated like a plea: ‘She is good. She is good. It was good.'”

-The royal family has shared a new photo of Prince George to mark his 9th birthday.

Zachary Levi and Joe Rogan had a conversation about deadnaming and I actually agreed with Rogan on this one, which says more about Levi than him. I saw him at a panel once and it was like “Nope, I’m good.”

-Oh great. Netflix is testing limiting the number of days you can watch Netflix on a TV outside your primary home.

-What happened to Desus & Mero? According to a report, a dispute over their long time manager (and credited producer on their show) Victor Lopez is what ended the Showtime comedy duo’s successful partnership. Showtime reportedly asked Lopez to step back after formal complaints alleged he was bullying and screaming at staff, which Desus allegedly agreed with while Mero sided with Lopez.

-This is an interesting interview with Jack White one what some of his most famous songs mean.

-There’s low rise jeans, and then there’s whatever the hell Julia Fox is doing here.

-This is a great look at why Jane Austen is all the rage this summer.

50 Cent is bragging that his new horror movie is so graphic, a camera operator passed out on set. Hard pass.

Florence Pugh and Harry Styles have a troubled marriage in the new Don’t Worry Darling trailer.

-I want so much more for Sarah Michelle Gellar than her joining the new Teen Wolf, but here we are. Here’s the trailer they debuted at Comic Con.

-Comic Con also gave us a new trailer for The Sandman series, as well as She-Hulk, John Wick 4 and I Am Groot.

-Here’s the first trailer for the Dungeons & Dragons movie, starring Chris Pine, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Michelle Rodriguez and Hugh Grant. It’s definitely trying to be the next Ragnarok.
