Succession Is Coming Back This Fall

-It’s Logan v. Kendall in the new Succession season 3 teaser. I cannot wait!

-I’m underwhelmed by Gwen Stefani’s Vera Want dress. Her original pink dress was just too high a bar to clear. At least she went non-traditional for the reception. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Carson Daly.

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are PDAing their way through Italy. Good for them.

-Every E. Alex Jung is a must-read. But this one on Jennifer Coolridge? Its a must-read-right-now. It’s filled with tidbits like this: “I always said I was Muffin Hemingway [at the clubs] if I couldn’t get in. One time I got thrown out of a club because I was behaving badly, and they said, ‘Don’t ever come back here, Muffin!'”

-Congrats to Being Human and Hawaii 5-0 star Meghan Rath, who just revealed her pregnancy.

-The first day of Cannes gave us Jodie Foster speaking French, Pedro Almodovar as a surprise guest, jury president Spike Lee in a hot pink suitMarion Cotillard in bike shorts, Adam Driver getting Oscar buzz, and Helen Mirren dancing on the red carpet.

Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian says he’s “Grateful for my beautiful family, today and every day” — despite being cut of out his late father’s $330m will.

-I just finished Cruel Summer a few days ago, which was a fun, twisty little show. The second season will move ahead without creator Bert V. Royal. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he quit his Freeform series after clashing with an exec last summer just after the pilot finished shooting.

-This is a very well-written review of the Gossip Girl reboot, which says the show wants to start a revolution but has no idea how. I also like this one, which reminds us it’s harder than it looks to make really good trash.

Seth Rogen wins Twitter this week with this tweet: “Once I was in the spa in a hotel in Vegas getting a massage. When I finished I turned over and to my shock Paul Rudd was massaging me. He saw me go in and convinced the masseuse to let him take over, thinking I’d notice immediately. I didn’t, and Paul did the entire rest of it.”

-This seems to be implying that Jennifer Lawrence is pregnant? I kind of thought she already was, but that was me mixing her up with her BFF Emma Stone.

Larry Rudolph has stepped down as the Britney Spears‘ manager after 25 years. “It has been over 2 1/2 years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus. Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.”

-Her long-time attorney (who was chosen for her), Sam Ingham, is also stepping down.

-I don’t watch Top Chef but by most accounts this season was one of its best, so it sucks that the winner is now surrounding by controversy.

Val Kilmer made a documentary about what it’s like to be Val Kilmer.

Leni Klum Follows In Mom Heidi’s Footsteps

-16-year-old Leni Klum covers Glamour Germany in honor of the publication’s 20th anniversary, exactly two decades after Heidi Klum‘s cover.

RIP DMX. The Grammy-winning artist was one of the most successful rappers of the late 1990s, with his first five studio albums debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Gabrielle Union‘s tribute to him was incredibly touching. Kerry Washington’s, however, caused a stir for implying he and Prince Philip ended up in the same place (she’s since deleted it).

Prince Harry is expected to fly back to the UK to attend the funeral. I’m sure the British press will still find a way to blame him and Meaghan for something.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge will be co-starring alongside Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 5. I’m torn: I want her to get ALL the money, but I also want her to keep doing interesting shit — and this ain’t it.

George Floyd‘s family’s attorney revealed that George Clooney emailed him with some brutal advice for the trial: “You should tell them if Derek Chauvin feels so confident [that the cause of death was drug use], he should volunteer during his case, to get down on the floor in that courtroom, and let somebody come and put their knee on his neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds and be able to see if he can survive.”

-There’s been a lot of pap photos recently of Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson walking around NYC looking happy and in love. I don’t hate it.

-I don’t have the mental energy for a book club. But a gossip reading club? I’m so in.

Demi Lovato and the cast of Glee shared memories of Naya Rivera during the Glaad Media Awards.

Emma Roberts is becoming a romcom queen and good for her. It’s in her blood, after all.

Taylor Swift released her first fully re-recorded album, with some bonus tracks.

-Meanwhile, her fans are trying to bury the original album on Spotify so the new version that she owns gets all the streams.

Kate Moss is the latest celeb to start selling NFTs.

-HBO Max has ordered a Magic Mike competition series, produced by Channing Tatum and Steven Soderbergh. The press release says it’s “an exhilarating and sexy series that will transform a group of men into real-life Magic Mikes. 10 men who have ‘lost their magic’ will come together in a competition series like no other.” Like they need to even sell us on it.

-Anyone else having a hard time making it through The Falcon And The Winter Soldier? There’s some big moments (like the last few minutes of the latest ep) but taken all together the show feels pretty middling.

-Poor Tom Cruise. Both Top Gun and the next Mission Impossible movie have been delayed again. Top Gun: Maverick is now set for Nov, while Mission: Impossible 7 won’t hit theatres until May 2022.

Shenae Grimes is crowd-sourcing her baby’s name. What could possibly go wrong?

Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer new Netflix movie Thunder Force is getting awful reviews. What do we have to do to keep Melissa away from hubby Ben Falcone‘s films?

Paul Rudd stars in a new clip from Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Harry Styles Fed the Fish

-God, could you imagine being a Harry Styles fan and finding out that while you out, your dad let him in and he wandered around your house leaving you cute notes? This sounds like the start of a rom-com.

-Speaking of rom-coms, someone made a rom-com trailer for The Haunting of Bly Manor and I want to watch that version of the show.

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost got married over the weekend, and they broke the news via Meals on Wheels’ Instagram with a plea to donate. Which I kind of love?

-Gem of a human Paul Rudd handed out cookies to people in the rain waiting in line to vote in Brooklyn.

-Halloween may be cancelled for many of us, but not for the famous ones. George Clooney and Rande Gerber have tricked out a Casamigos truck and will drop off booze to their pals.

-Well, well, well. A couple of days ago when Stephen Amell talked about getting covid despite how “safe” he’s been, I mentioned that I’ve noticed some non-safe looking activity on his and his friends’ social media. And now a source is telling Page Six that he hosted a birthday party for his wife in Palm Springs (which he presumably flew to from shooting Heels in Atlanta). One of his BFFs also announced she has it, as did his wife, who did an IG Live yesterday but claims she has no idea where she got it.

Karlie Kloss and husband Joshua Kushner are expecting their first child.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom sang a song about voting and it was cute. Very out of tune, but cute.

Nicole Kidman continues to sign onto TV shows and I love this for her. She’s star and produce Amazon’s Things I Know to Be True.

-Here’s the full trailer for the new season of The Crown, which sees Olivia Colman‘s Queen clash with Gillian Anderson‘s Margaret Thatcher.

-Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams leaves her sheltered life with her mom to hunt down her father’s killer in the Two Weeks To Live trailer.
