Kim Kardashian posted an IG story about Kanye West, citing his bipolar diagnosis and asking for compassion and empathy. It was incredibly well-written and sympathetic, but this part made me fear that she’s still onboard with his presidential run: “Living with bi-polar disorder does not diminish or invalidate his dreams and his creative ideas, no matter how big or unobtainable they may feel to some. That is part of his genius and as we have all witnessed, many of his big dreams have come true.”

This is a good piece on how Dave Franco praising three ’90s romcoms (all by white filmmakers) and talking about how he wants to “elevate” the genre ignores the BIPOC voices already refreshing this genre. I don’t know how you can look at the romcom resurgence of the last few years — with movies like Always Be My Maybe, The Big Sick, The Lovebirds, and Crazy Rich Asians — and think you need to jump in and make it better.

-In an interview with Katy Perry, Howard Stern brought up Orlando Bloom‘s nude paddleboating pics from a few years ago. She told him: “It was Europe! -According to a new report, Kate Middleton has been working from home during the pandemic and source say she’s finding her workload has been hard to manage ever since Harry and Meghan moved to North America. “She feels exhausted and trapped. Orlando Bloom proposed to Katy Perry on Valentine’s Day, which is a very Orlando Bloom-y thing to do.

-This is a really good interview with Meg Ryan, in which she talks about burning out and the pressures of being America’s sweetheart. I love her metaphor for fame: “Ever get in a car — maybe it’s a superexpensive car — and the inside’s lovely, you can’t complain about it, but you can’t hear anything outside, because there’s so much metal? There’s so much between you and everything else. You’re at a disadvantage as a young, famous person because you don’t know who’s telling you the truth.”

The only way I can describe it is that there’s a movie that everybody’s playing in their head and the movie doesn’t end up the way they want it.”
