Succession Is Coming Back This Fall

-It’s Logan v. Kendall in the new Succession season 3 teaser. I cannot wait!

-I’m underwhelmed by Gwen Stefani’s Vera Want dress. Her original pink dress was just too high a bar to clear. At least she went non-traditional for the reception. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Carson Daly.

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are PDAing their way through Italy. Good for them.

-Every E. Alex Jung is a must-read. But this one on Jennifer Coolridge? Its a must-read-right-now. It’s filled with tidbits like this: “I always said I was Muffin Hemingway [at the clubs] if I couldn’t get in. One time I got thrown out of a club because I was behaving badly, and they said, ‘Don’t ever come back here, Muffin!'”

-Congrats to Being Human and Hawaii 5-0 star Meghan Rath, who just revealed her pregnancy.

-The first day of Cannes gave us Jodie Foster speaking French, Pedro Almodovar as a surprise guest, jury president Spike Lee in a hot pink suitMarion Cotillard in bike shorts, Adam Driver getting Oscar buzz, and Helen Mirren dancing on the red carpet.

Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian says he’s “Grateful for my beautiful family, today and every day” — despite being cut of out his late father’s $330m will.

-I just finished Cruel Summer a few days ago, which was a fun, twisty little show. The second season will move ahead without creator Bert V. Royal. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he quit his Freeform series after clashing with an exec last summer just after the pilot finished shooting.

-This is a very well-written review of the Gossip Girl reboot, which says the show wants to start a revolution but has no idea how. I also like this one, which reminds us it’s harder than it looks to make really good trash.

Seth Rogen wins Twitter this week with this tweet: “Once I was in the spa in a hotel in Vegas getting a massage. When I finished I turned over and to my shock Paul Rudd was massaging me. He saw me go in and convinced the masseuse to let him take over, thinking I’d notice immediately. I didn’t, and Paul did the entire rest of it.”

-This seems to be implying that Jennifer Lawrence is pregnant? I kind of thought she already was, but that was me mixing her up with her BFF Emma Stone.

Larry Rudolph has stepped down as the Britney Spears‘ manager after 25 years. “It has been over 2 1/2 years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus. Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.”

-Her long-time attorney (who was chosen for her), Sam Ingham, is also stepping down.

-I don’t watch Top Chef but by most accounts this season was one of its best, so it sucks that the winner is now surrounding by controversy.

Val Kilmer made a documentary about what it’s like to be Val Kilmer.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Turn to Oprah

-It was a long weekend so I missed Meghan Markle‘s pregnancy announcement. The British press didn’t though — and were even more horrible to her than usual.

-Meanwhile, the royal couple are set to do a sit-down interview with Oprah and “nothing is off-limits.”

Simone Ashley won the coveted role of Kate in season two of Bridgerton. I know nothing about this actress, but that’s the best character in the entire book series so good on her.

-Speaking of the Bridgerton cast, Rege-Jean Page is going to star in Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons movie with Chris Pine.

Olivia Wilde made a social media post thanking Harry Styles for taking on a supporting role in a women-led movie, and people are not having it.

Wilde also spent Valentine’s Day moving stuff out of Jason Sudeikis’ house and into Styles’.

-Awful news for Nicki Minaj: her father has passed away following a hit-and-run.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is making noises again about running for president. He seems like a swell guy but can we just… not?

-This is an interesting piece on how everyone in Hollywood wants immunity, and lots of A-listers are looking into what it would take to get it — but they are also terrified of potential public shaming if it ever came out that they jumped the vaccine line (as they should be).

-Meanwhile, here’s a look at how crisis PR isn’t really working for stars these days.

-Are Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox the 2021 version of Angelina and Billy Bob? He wears a necklace with a drop of her blood in it.

-Speaking of pulling an Angie, Kristen Wiig says her twin babies’ names are Luna and Shiloh.

-Speaking of Wiig, her new movie is incredibly weird and you definitely have to be in the right mindset for it (or high), but I will watch the bit where Jamie Dornan recreates a cheezy music video over and over and over. This is a very charming interview with him about it, in which he says he can sing “just as much as any douchey actor guy.”

David Boreanaz has broken his silence and offered public support to Charisma Carpenter.

Julie Bowen says her Modern Family TV son Nolan Gould gave her an ‘insane’ Happy Gilmore poster. “[Because of it] my kids think Happy Gilmore is a horror movie.”

-Former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay says it was the ‘right decision‘ for Chris Harrison to step aside temporarily. Others are wondering if it should be forever?

Claudia Conway auditioned on this weekend’s season premiere of American Idol and the whole thing felt off and manipulative.

-This is an excellent profile on Chloé Zhao, the creator of quiet indie dramas who has suddenly become the most-sought-after director in Hollywood, and an Oscar frontrunner.

-Oof, this is a damning thread on how Justin Timberlake talked about Britney Spears over the years.

-Also in her first interview in over a decade, Spears’ cousin and former assistant Alli Sims claims that Britney’s father Jamie was “100 percent” threatening Alli with her life when he forced her to cut off contact with Britney.

-Here’s the first trailer for the Gossip Girl reboot on HBO Max.

-Here’s the latest trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Sigh.

Jodie Turner-Smith Calls Labor “Some Goddess-Level Shit”

-I adore Elle’s new cover with Jodie Turner-Smith. In the interview, she talks about giving birth to her daughter: “Patriarchal society really is out here, scamming women into thinking that they’re not supremely powerful beings. Because damn, it’s some goddess-level shit.”

-What’s up with all the gossip about Kanye West with makeup influencers? First we had outlandish rumours surrounding Jeffree Star, and now TikTok makeup guru Cole Carrigan claimed West’s bodyguard instructed him to meet the rapper at a W Hotel late at night — but then he retracted it. That’s one way to get publicity, I guess.

Rob Lowe says he lives in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s neighborhood, and swears he’s seen Harry with a ponytail. Pics or it didn’t happen.

-Meanwhile, William and Kate reportedly ignored the Scottish government’s warnings to stay at home.

Lana Del Rey‘s disastrous album promo tour continues. She says that this clip of her talking about how Trump didn’t mean to incite a riot was taken out of context.

Chuck Norris‘ rep insists it was a lookalike and not him who attended the Capitol insurrection after images trended on Twitter.

-Are Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles already in the sharing jewelry stage of their relationship?

-Most movie theatres are closed and production is in flux, but streaming services have stockpiled content. Netflix released a new star-studded promo for its massive 2021 movie slate, which promises new movies every week of the year. We get glimpses of some of their most anticipated offerings, including Amy Adams‘ The Woman In The Window, Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer‘s superhero comedy Thunder Force, and Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Don’t Look Up.

-Marvel also seems to be in good shape, despite the current climate. Kevin Feige just made a lot of announcements about what’s on their slate, including that Deadpool 3 will remain R rated despite now being a Disney property.

Brad Pitt relaxes in the sun in the first ad campaign for his Miraval rosé (which is surprisingly tasty).

-Glee stars posted tributes to Naya Rivera on what would have been her birthday.

-The Bachelor’s “Queen” Victoria Larson has deleted an Instagram photo that appears to show a Trump flag draped over a chair in her house.

Kim Cattrall is not joining the SATC revival, but she is liking fan’s tweets about her steering clear of it.

-I think we’re all ready for a Brendan Fraser comeback but a Darren Aronofsky joint called The Whale about man with compulsive eating disorder is not what I’d hoped for.

-FX is parting ways with True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto, who had two years left on his deal there, making his planned series with Matthew McConaughey DOA.

Sally Rooney, the author of Normal People and Conversations with Friends, is set to release her third novel in the fall. Do you think she’ll have discovered quotation marks by then?

-The first trailer for the Russo Brothers’ Cherry starring Tom Holland is here.
