Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik Release New Video

-Shouldn’t Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik’s new video for sexy sexfest 50 Shades Darker be… sexier?

–Paula Patton and Robin Thicke‘s messy custody battle just got even messier. Yesterday they both requested temporary sole custody of their son, but Thicke’s request was not only denied, the judge issued a temporary domestic violence restraining order against him amidst allegations of physical abuse.

-Well, this isn’t good: Mischa Barton has been “voluntarily transported to a hospital for mental evaluation” after sources tell TMZ she was “she was hanging over her backyard fence in West Hollywood and rambling about her mom being a witch” yesterday.

–Jon Hamm continues to eschew underwear, to the joy and delight of the world. Happy weekend!

-Meanwhile, did Don Draper really change for the better at the end of Mad Men? Jon Hamm doesn’t think so. “I don’t think that zen moment of understanding of anything really stuck. That leopard is not changing his spots…I think it was more about, he just had a really good idea for a commercial.”

–Jake Gyllenhaal is questioning the lack of Oscars love for Ryan Reynolds’ “extraordinary” work in Deadpool.  You’d think he would have bemoaned his Nocturnal Animals costar Amy Adams‘ snub instead, but sure.

-Pilot season has begun! NBC ordered new comedies from Mindy Kaling, Tina Fey and Bill Lawrence, while ABC is betting on Elizabeth Banks.

-Um, is Drake angling to be a late-night talk show host? On a podcast, he said “I miss Johnny Carson and the appeal of that sexy late-night TV that’s funny.” Simmer down, Wheelchair Jimmy!

–Jerry Seinfeld landed in hot water after an incredibly dumb Black Lives Matter tweet.

-I watched the Riverdale premiere last night and I’m still not sure if I liked it or not. On the plus side, I discovered that Netflix Canada streams new eps the next day (along with a bunch of other CW shows like Jane The Virgin and The 100).

-Speaking of shows you should stream on Netflix, I really like this description of Crazyhead: it takes the Buffy recipe and makes it dirtier and hornier.

–Ben Affleck’s “Live By Night” flop resulted in a $75 million loss. And yet he’s still going to have no problem green-lighting movies because Hollywood!

–Kristen Bell‘s throwback picture from her wedding day is pretty damn funny. (Also, points for not wearing white.)

-God bless The Walking Dead stars for trying so hard to talk up this season.

-Here’s the first trailer for In Dubious Battle starring James Franco and Selena Gomez. I saw this at TIFF and it was ok.

-The only good thing about the recent wave of ridiculous magazine profiles on female celebrities is all the think pieces being written calling them out. So far, this one is my favourite — and not just because the headline is “Stop Jizzing All Over Journalism”.

–Lea Michele and Robert Buckley  have already split. Filming on their new sci-fi series just got super awkward.

-Have we gone one day this week without seeing new photos of Hiddleswift? I don’t think we have.

–Aubrey Plaza came out as bisexual in a new interview with The Advocate. Why did I think she already did that?

–Matthew Rhys and Matthew Goode‘s Wine Show is coming to Hulu. Not ideal for Canadians, but I can work with it.

-Sorry, I refuse to believe that Ansel Elgort‘s new track has a shot at being called the song of the summer. Refuse!

-I’m actually really liking what the CW is doing with their contracts that allow their supporting actors to stretch across multiple shows. Wentworth Miller doesn’t really have enough to do on Legends, and John Barrowman hasn’t had a reason to still be alive on Arrow for at least two seasons now, but they’re too big to let go of completely so this is a good compromise.

–Simon Pegg and Zachary Quinto are disappointed in George Takei‘s disappointment about Sulu being gay.

–This is why I follow Gina Rodriguez on Snapchat.

–Russell Brand is going to be a dad.

-HBO’s limited series The Night Of, which debuts this Sunday, is getting rave reviews.

–Emma Watson documented her meeting with the new Hermione, and the photos are delightful.

–Cobie Smulders is in a new movie called The Intervention. A) I love this entire cast, and B) Do you think she stole the intervention banner from the HIMYM set?

–Jon Favreau talks to Idris Elba in the new issue of Interview. It’s a good chat about actors turned directors (except for the part where he talks about DJing, an aspect about him I prefer to repress). Also, there’s random Ben Affleck shout outs, so that’s something.

-Wayment. You’re all surprised that Taylor Swift hired a pro photographer to document her 4th of July party? Then you haven’t been paying attention.

–Sarah Silverman went to the doctor for a sore throat and ended up spending 5 days in the ICU.

–Leonardo DiCaprio is dating another blonde model but we probably shouldn’t bother learning her name either.

-The bloopers from Matthew Rhys and Matthew Goode’s The Wine Show are such a goddamn delight  I can’t even.

-Sleepy Hollow is looking for a new “Scully-esque” female lead. Burn it all down!

-It took 50 years and an alternate universe, but Sulu is gay in Star Trek Beyond.

–Fine sentiment, Mischa Barton, but perhaps attaching it to a pic of you in a bikini on a yacht isn’t exactly the best way to support Black Lives Matter.

-This is perfect: what if that Robbie Margot VF interview was about Benedict Cumberbatch instead?

-Important: there’s a new teaser video for You’re the Worst Season 3. Also important: I HAVE HER SUNGLASSES!

-I love Bill Simmons and everything he did with Grantland, but this is not an inaccurate description of Any Given Wednesday. Also, when is he going to have his first female guest already?

-In no way celebrity related, but this is clearly the best thing on the internet today. (Read the thread, and just keep hitting ‘show more’. Cause it gets so good.)

-This description of Zoe Saldana’s diet makes me so sad, but as someone who once stood next to her in an elevator and felt like I was a shapeless blob next to her, it doesn’t surprise me.

-And this is why I’ve stopped reading posts on Stephen Amell’s Facebook page, especially ones about his family. His fans are cray. (I mean, I’m still gonna watch the workout videos though, cause come on.)

–This article made me feel really bad for Bryan Cranston. And then I remembered he’s Bryan Cranston and is probably going to be just fine.

–Nick Jonas is in a freaky, slap-happy fraternity in this trailer for Goat.

-Here is the trailer for My Last Days, a new doc from Jane the Virgin’s Justin Baldoni that follows six people facing terminal illness. Excuse me for a sec; my eyes are drowning.

-I’m not sure why all of Anna Kendrick‘s movie choices recently seem to be about needing a date for a wedding,  but at least the trailer for Table 19 looks cute.
