Oprah Winfrey Won’t Run for President in 2020 Vogue

-In her lovely new British Vogue cover story, Oprah says she has no plans to run for president in 2020: “I would not be able to do it. It’s not a clean business. It would kill me.” She also says she almost wore white to the royal wedding and had to Google it to see if it would be taboo.

-Fifth time’s a charm? Odd couple David Foster, 68, and Katharine McPhee, 34, got engaged while on vacation in Italy.

–Seth Rogen says he’s had conversations with Twitter about their “bizarre need” to verify white supremacists.

–Tom Cruise has a new wingman. The role of Goose’s son in Top Gun: Maverick was being chased by many young actors, many of whom even traveled to Cruise’s home in Clearwater, Florida for the testing process. And the winner is: Miles Teller. Sigh. I can see how Cruise would be attracted to his try-hardness, but how the heck this this not go to Glen Powell? I finally watched Netflix’s Set It Up this weekend and the guy is a charm bomb. At least he has a sense of humour about losing the role.

-Sony meant to upload the red-band trailer for Khali the Killer on YouTube this morning — and they accidentally uploaded the entire movie. It was up for 8 hours before they noticed.

-This Twitter thread about a couple meeting on an airplane had me riveted!

-I’m loving that Amy Adams‘ new HBO show Sharp Objects is getting raves.

–Kevin Spacey is now under investigation for three more sexual-assault claims in London. Meanwhile, Guy Pearce says Spacey was “handsy” on the set of L.A. Confidential. “Amazing actor; incredible actor. Mmm. Slightly difficult time with Kevin, yeah…He’s a handsy guy. Thankfully I was 29, and not 14.”

–Harvey Weinstein was indicted on three additional felony sex charges, two of which carry the potential of life in prison.

-In The Cut’s July cover story, Marisa Tomei talks the patriarchy and Weinstein. “One of the best things about this moment is that actresses are talking to each other.”

-Amber Tamblyn has been a very problematic leader of Me Too (her tweets about Maxine Waters scream “white feminist”). In a new THR interview, she talks about David Cross (her problematic husband). “If you care about my voice and what I have to say at all and you think you know me, then you better assume that I’m having really difficult conversations with my husband about it.”

–Roseanne Barr is already plotting her return to TV because of course.

-Garbage lead singer Shirley Manson wrote a moving op-ed about self harming herself as a teen and how she copes now.

-On a French talk show, Jean-Claude Van Damme reportedly suggested a woman’s role was to take care of the kids while men went out to work, and dismissed gay marriage. I don’t know who that co-panelist is who clapped back at him, but I think I love her.

–Yvette Nicole Brown has been tapped to moderate The Walking Dead panels at Comic Con in place of Chris Hardwick.  This makes a lot of sense; she’s a frequent guest on his aftershow.

–Jeffrey Dean Morgan is having some issues with TWD fans who don’t seem to understand boundaries.

-I’m a couple of weeks late to the party but have y’all watched Hannah Gadsby‘s Netflix comedy special Nanette? She talks mental illness, sexual abuse and the Me Too movement. It starts out funny/topical and then she gradually gets into why she’s quitting comedy and it’s a total gut punch. I can’t stop thinking about this clip, in which she rails against Picasso for having an affair with a 17-year-old girl because he said “she was in her prime.” Once she gets into her abusive past, I was sobbing. This should be required watching.

–Scarlett Johansson and her Ghost in the Shell director are reuniting for another problematic movie. Her response to the backlash is shockingly tone deaf: “Tell them that they can be directed to Jeffrey Tambor, Jared Leto, and Felicity Huffman’s reps for comment.”  First of all, Huffman made Transamerica in 2006; the world has changed since then. And who in their right mind would compare themselves to Leto or Tambor these days?! I mean, invoking a guy who was fired for harassing trans actors is probably not your best justification for playing a trans character, ScarJo.

–Adam Sandler crashed a wedding photo shoot in Montreal wearing a T-shirt and gym shorts.

–Cheryl Cole denied rumors that her mother was behind he recent split from Liam Payne.

-The first trailer for Patty Jenkins‘ mysterious TNT series has finally been revealed, and it stars the best Chris.

Game of Thrones Trailer: Winter Is Here

-The new Game Of Thrones trailer for season 7 teases multiple battles and confirms that winter is finally here.

-After two high-risk pregnancies, Kim Kardashian is reportedly hiring a surrogate. I know nothing about how much surrogates cost, but doesn’t this seem like not a lot?

–George Clooney is having a moment. The new dad just sold his Casamigos tequila brand to beverage giant Diageo – for one billion dollars!

–Kate Beckinsale, 43, is dating 21-year-old actor Matt Rife. Get it, girl.

-Holy shit, this is messy. Phil Lord and Chris Miller (of The Lego Movie and the 21 Jump Street) were ejected from the Hans Solo movie after clashing with LucasFilm President Kathleen Kennedy. To leave a project when there’s just three weeks of shooting left because of “creative differences?” Ron Howard is reportedly among the directors in talks to take over.

-There are a lot of new faces on The THR 100 (The Hollywood Reporter’s list of the most powerful people in entertainment), including Barry Jenkins, Reese Witherspoon and Patty Jenkins.

–Miley Cyrus says she was the one who gave Instagram the idea to disable comments on some posts.

–Jesse Williams‘ divorce from Aryn Drake-Lee is getting messy. The Grey’s Anatomy star is fighting for joint physical custody and says his estranged wife refused his request for more time with their two children.

-This is a great piece on Sofia Coppola‘s The Beguiled controversy, and what we should expect from white directors.

-Drew Barrymore makes a very brief cameo in SZA’s music video for the very good song “Drew Barrymore”.

-This is pretty damn admirable: Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay is fighting to get all of America’s backlogged rape kits tested.

–Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon played “Are You Smarter Than a Smart Girl?”  (Spoiler alert: they are not.)

–Prince Harry revealed he suffered regular panic attacks after the death of his mother and recalled the emotional difficulty of walking behind his mother’s coffin. “I don’t think any child should be asked to do that, under any circumstances. I don’t think it would happen today.”

-If a show dumps six cast members, is it still the same show? NBC’s Taken is about to find out.

-Shocking report: diverse casts are bringing in serious box office cash.

-My Best Friend’s Wedding came out 20 years ago today! I still dig this movie — despite the fact that it’s based on people who make a marriage pact for if they’re still single by the time they’re 28(!). The best part about it is how the three people in the love triangle are basically monsters, and the movie never lets you forget it.

–Damon Lindelof is developing a Watchmen TV series for HBO. After what he did with The Leftovers, I’m willing to give this a chance.

-ATX’s panel for Sweet/Vicious has landed on YouTube. How did I never realize that the main actress is Bryan Cranston’s daughter?!

Was Gal Gadot Underpaid for Wonder Woman?

-Look, I’m all for pointing out the Hollywood pay gap, but that Elle article that went viral this morning about how Gal Gadot earned $300k for Wonder Woman while Henry Cavill made $14 million for Man of Steel was complete BS. Cavill’s deal included other movies and back-end. Gadot’s initial pay is industry standard (Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans made roughly the same for the first Thor and Captain America movies, respectively, and RDJ made $500k for the first Iron Man). The real money will come with the sequel, and she hasn’t even signed that deal yet so she basically has Warner Bros by the balls.

-I love Sarah Michelle Gellar, but this is a bad tweet.

-Holy shit, Warner Bros. has confirmed Bachelor in Paradise has been cleared in the misconduct investigation, and they are RESUMING PRODUCTION. No one thought ABC would even attempt to salvage this show, let alone this season.

–Miles Teller denied being arrested for public intoxication in San Diego this weekend. And then the San Diego brought out the receipts.

-Sadness: Prodigy, half of the incredibly influential Queensbridge rap duo Mobb Deep, has died at 42 of to Sickle Cell complications. Nas, QTip, Nicki Minaj, Chuck D and more have posted their condolences.

–Jenny Slate was spotted at the movies with Jon Hamm. She’s really living her best life right now…

–Lorde apologized for a Guardian interview in which she said that maintaining friendships with famous people is “like having a friend with an autoimmune disease.”

–Angelina Jolie met with young survivors of sexual violence today on her humanitarian trip to Kenya.

–Gwyneth Paltrow says she gets GOOP advice from Walmart’s e-commerce guy. Seems about right.

–Kim Kardashian responded to those blackface allegations associated with her makeup line’s new marketing, making a lot of excuses before saying she’s “learned from it.”

–Elle Fanning was on Kimmel last night and told the story of how she ended up having Robert De Niro and his entire family over for Easter dinner, and they just ordered a bunch of pizza.

-Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis says he’s done with acting.

–Stephen Amell had a little fit on Twitter today because people were making fun of his belly at the Jays game (try being a woman on the internet, you delicate flower, you), but then Robbie Amell shut him down the way only family can. Twice.

–Johnny Depp emails have been made public, and they reveal he knew he was in financial trouble (but still refused to fly commercial because that would be “a f**king nightmare of monumental proportions.”)

–Michael Keaton, Dylan O’Brien and Taylor Kitsch star in the American Assassin trailer. Um, what the hell happened to Taylor Kitsch’s career?

–Lily Collins battles anorexia in the trailer for Netflix’s To the Bone. It’s the directorial debut of Marti Noxon from Buffy and UNreal, and the supporting cast is stacked (Keanu Reeves,  Lili Taylor, Carrie Preston).
