Khole Kardashian Goes Off on Jordyn Wood

–Khole Kardashian just went after Jordyn Woods on Twitter. I’ve been trying to avoid this story but day-um!

-Meanwhile, Woods says she feels like she’s “free” after discussing the Tristan Thompson scandal with Jada Pinkett Smith on Red Table Talk, where she denied the cheating allegations.

-Will Smith is clearly #TeamJordyn.

-The Kardashian fam is having a rough go of it in the romance department. Kylie Jenner accused Travis Scott of cheating.

-Human turd pile Johnny Depp is now going after Amber Heard with a $50M defamation lawsuit. “Ms. Heard is not a victim of domestic abuse, she is a perpetrator,” says the suit in reaction to an op-end the actress penned for The Washington Post in December.

-Oh noooooo. Ian McKellen said Bryan Singer and Kevin Spacey committed alleged abuses because they were closeted.

-A lot of people are talking about Wesley Morris’ piece in the NYT on the Michael Jackson doc, which airs Sunday and Monday on HBO. The article itself is devastating; I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get through all four hours.

-Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey recorded a special with the two men whose allegations against Jackson are detailed in the HBO documentary.

-The Jonas Brothers released a new video for “Sucker” that costars the brothers’ significant others (Piyanka Chopra, Sophie Turner and Danielle Jonas) and plays like outtakes from The Favourite.

–Mindy Kaling‘s Late Night starring Emma Thompson is coming to theatres June 7 and I CANNOT WAIT.

–Selma Blair‘s IG post with Sarah Michelle Gellar is very sweet.

-To celebrate this week’s home release of the Oscar-award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Sony has uploaded the opening 9 minutes of the film to YouTube. This might have been my favourite movie of 2018.

-Speaking of amazing movies from 2018, Eighth Grade is now on Netflix.

-This new Neftlix promo starring Uzo Aduba is really powerful.

-I very much like Kelly Clarkson’s cover of Robyn‘s “Dancing On My Own.”

–Kristen Bell responded to a fan’s (very reasonable) question about how she can make speeches about protecting children’s privacy while also starring in a commercial with a kid.

-This video of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast and crew learning the show got renewed is delightful.

-I haven’t been active in fandom for years (though I still lurk in couple), but I’ve never seen a more positive one than the Wyonna Earp fandom. It makes me want to watch the show!

–Ryan Adams‘s planned tour of Britain and Ireland has been canceled amid allegations that he harassed women in the music industry.

-I love that Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are in talks for an Edge of Tomorrow sequel. That’s my favourite airplane movie.

–Katherine Helmond, who played Mona on Who’s The Boss, has passed away.

-Here’s the first trailer for Ava DuVernay‘s four-part Netflix series When They See Us about the Central Park Five. It costars Michael K. Williams, Vera Farmiga, John Leguizamo, Felicity Huffman, Niecy Nash, Blair Underwood, Joshua Jackson and Famke Janssen.

–Anne Hathaway is still out here hustling for Serenity, landing on the cover of People in which she talks about hugging Julie Andrews, how she handles haters (“What I appreciate is when the negativity has some intelligence behind it. What I don’t like is lazy negativity. If you’re going to take someone down, have a point of view! Be witty, maybe pun a little!”) and how she’s come to peace with her fame “by not apologizing for taking up space, which is not something I knew how to do 10 years ago.”

–Cardi B and Offset are “working things out, baby.”

–Jussie Smollett‘s family issued a statement about the “cowardly” assault against the Empire star, calling it “domestic terrorism” and adding “This was a racial and homophobic hate crime.” Also, his manager confirmed that he was on the phone with the actor at the time of the attack. Meanwhile, a solidarity rally is being planned.

-This is nice: Octavia Spencer says LeBron James “intervened” to get her equal pay on her new Netflix series.

-I love that Paul F. Tompkins literally tweeted his way into a recurring role on You’re The Worst.

–Mariah Carey, oh no baby what is you doin?

–Taylor Swift‘s career is not in decline, thank you very much.

–Ariana Grande “fixed” her tat so it now reads “Japanese Barbecue Finger.” Um, yay?

-Nothing ever dies on The CW, which just granted early renewals to 10 series: Arrow, Black Lightning, Charmed, The Flash, Legacies, Legends of Tomorrow, Riverdale, Supergirl, Supernatural (for it’s 15th season!!) and Dynasty (proving that it doesn’t matter if you’re only pulling in 600k viewers a week if you’re making $$ from international rights). The only currently airing CW shows missing from the list are All American, The 100 and Roswell, New Mexico.

-Over on Showtime, Shameless got renewed for season 10, despite Emmy Rossum‘s departure. Also, The L Word revival is a go, with Jennifer Beals, Leisha Hailey and Katherine Moennig reprising their roles. SHANE!!!!

-I’m pretty stoked that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are continuing to produce Miraval because that is i a damn fine rosé.

-Excellent, disturbing read from The Guardian: “R Kelly, Michael Jackson and Bryan Singer. Who knew? Everyone.”

-Also, the Singer scandal might actually help Bohemian Rhapsody’s Oscar chances. I hate the world.

-Looks like the Oscars have changed their mind and will feature all five Best Song nominees on the telecast after all. As recently as last week, reps for three of the tunes were being told there was no time for them, but solidarity among the nominees may have forced their hand. I love that.

–Bella Thorne says she noticed a general unwillingness to work with her ever since she came out as bisexual. Is she sure it’s that and not her terrible reputation?

-As we all suspected, Ben Affleck is giving up the cowl as Batman, even if Warner Brothers isn’t ready to publicly admit it.

-According to the reaction at the first screen of Captain Marvel, audiences really dug the cat.

-She’s All That is celebrating its 20th(!) anniversary this week and I’m vacuuming up all the content. The oral history on the dance scene alone feeds my soul. GIVE ME ALL OF IT!

-The first trailer for Aidy Bryant’s new Hulu series Shrill looks delightful!

Bradley Cooper Joined Lady Gaga Onstage for Surprise Duet

–Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were shut out of the SAGs, but they made up for it when he joined her on stage in Vegas for a surprise duet of “Shallow.”

-The SAG Awards were a pretty low-key affair last night, but at least the red carpet was pretty.

-In case you missed last night’s telecast, the best speeches are here: from Chadwick Boseman and Sandra Oh.

-This is Us won best TV ensemble, but really I’d rather watch Sterling K Brown and his wife’s victory clap than another episode of that show.

-Though Black Panther won the top prize at the SAGs, it doesn’t change much for the Oscars because it doesn’t tend to be a great predictor.  The SAG winner has gone on to win the best picture Oscar in only 11 of 23 years. It’s still probably Roma vs Green Book.

-Wait, now the Oscars might drop Best Cinematography from the telecast? Come on!

–Liam Hemsworth talked about his “spur-of-the-moment” wedding to Miley Cyrus.

-Yay for Mindy Kaling! Her new movie Late Night broke Sundance records when it was bought for $13M by Amazon Studios. I love how she talked about it: “I wrote it for Emma Thompson. A person I did not know! So I was just this creep in my home writing fan fiction movie for me and Emma Thompson, a woman I don’t know, hoping she would one day read it.”

-The four-hour Michael Jackson documentary premiered to a standing ovation at Sundance, and his estate is already fighting back.

–Freida Pinto says L’Oreal lightened her skin in an ad campaign. “I said to my agent after the first controversy that I would like to see the pictures before, and I would like to be able to question them on colour correction.”

-Last night’s Rent Live wasn’t actually live because the guy who played Roger broke his foot at the second dress rehearsal and apparently they’ve never heard of understudies or wheelchair. It ended up getting the lowest ratings ever for a live musical so far.

-Who needs to wait for the Super Bowl to see the ads? Here is Cardi B’s Pepsi ad, while Carrie Bradshaw and The Dude return in a Stella Artois ad. (Because of course Carrie would drink beer?!?)

–Diane Kruger says Norman Reedus has been teaching her a lot about how to stay calm as a parent.

-Freeform is teaming with Laurence Fishburne to tell the story of Black Panther Party leader Elaine Brown and her daughter, Ericka Suzanne. The Gilmore Girls-meet-The Black Panthers pitch has me intrigued.

-I’m glad Netflix picked up Brie Larson‘s directorial debut, Unicorn Store. It got mixed reviews at TIFF but people seemed harsher to it than they needed to be.

–Naomi Campbell‘s cover of British Vogue is everything!

–Greg Berlanti, with a record 15 scripted series currently on the air, just landed his third pilot order of the season and his first at Fox. I mean, I love a lot of his shows but my god give someone else a shot, Hollywood!

-I’m not sure how I feel about Barry getting a season 2 (mostly because I adored how the first season ended), but this trailer is good.

-The only thing I know about Birds of Prey is from the CW which is … uh… not good. So I appreciated this explainer, because this teaser has me very excited. Chris Messina’s hair alone bought my ticket.
