Angelina Jolie looks luminous on the new cover of EW. That’s one way to distract us from those supposed “fighting” photos.

-In a new interview, Anna Kendrick says lots of good things about how feminism has basically “become a curse word.” “Why are we afraid of that word? It exists and we can’t get rid of it, so let’s fight for it and embrace it.”

-Also, I love this list of the 35 life-changing things Anna Kendrick tweeted in 2014.

-Everyone is talking about how good Amal Clooney looks in this D&G dress, but I’d rather talk about how she just called out the Canadian gov’t for not doing more to help secure Mohammed Fahmy‘s release.

-Being Human’s Meaghan Rath is going to be on New Girl? Yes, please!

Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow swore at each other on last night’s Kimmel. I like how Kudrow just shrugged whenever she said something especially raunchy. “I have a teenage son.”

Bette Midler‘s takedown of Ariana Grande is glorious! “Trust your talent. You don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead. You really don’t.”

-The Gambler’ director is refuting those rumours that Mark Wahlberg was a “prick” during filming.

Kim Cattrall says any rumors about more Sex and the City films are “wishful thinking.” But who is wishing for it, exactly?

Christian Bale says he got  jealous when he found out that Ben Affleck was taking over as Batman. Weird. Bale seems like such a rational, level-headed guy.

-Sweet! Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman are going to star in a limited TV series based on Big Little Lies (one of my fave books of 2014 so far). When I first heard they were adapting it I assumed it would be a movie. This is better.

-Watching Love, Actually is a holiday tradition that I look forward to every year, but even I must admit that the Honest Trailer for it is pretty spot on.

-To say critics are hating Horrible Bosses 2 would be an understatement (it’s only at 25% on RottenTomatoes), but the NYT slam of it might be my favourite.

-The full Jurassic World trailer landed today. Yup, Chris Pratt is still hot.

Oscar Isaac just signed on to play a villain in X-Men: Apocalypse. Me likey.

-A new trailer for Far from the Madding Crowd has arrived. I hated that novel in high school, but Carey Mulligan‘s singing might just win me over.

-Sweet! Breaking Bad’s Michelle MacLaren is the official choice to direct the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. I love this news so hard!

-I’m liking the new Pan trailer, starring Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund an (and incredible white) Rooney Mara. It’s directed by Joe Wright, and I’ll pretty much watch anything from him. I still remember seeing his incredible Atonement tracking shot in the theatre and being blown away.

George Clooney Talks Privacy, Freedom of the Press and His Dad

-The Hollywood Reporter’s roundtable with screenwriters features a lot of actor-writers (Julie Delpy, Danny Strong, etc) , but George Clooney totally owns it, especially near the end when he really gets rolling. He talks about the best advice his dad ever gave him, what it means to be a public figure, and how news has changed.

-It looks like Robert Pattinson is back to hooking up with Sean Penn’s daughter.

-This photo certainly makes it look like Idris Elba‘s girlfriend is expecting.

Jon Hamm’s penis problem is back. On the plus side, I’m suddenly looking forward to the next season of Mad Men.

Tom Hiddleston continues his charmbomb tour. I dare you not to swoon when he starts speaking French near the end of the Nerdist podcast.

-Meanwhile, critics think he’s the only reason to see Thor 2. I saw it a couple of days ago, and I agree. (Be sure to stick around to the very end of the credits. There’s more then one end credit extra in this film.)

Jennifer Aniston says she had to cut her hair off because it reacted poorly to a Brazilian-style blow dry treatment.

Jennifer Lawrence is also explaining her dramatic new ‘do, saying her long hair was “fried” and “couldn’t get any uglier.”

Selena Gomez says Lordedoesn’t support other women,” which strikes me as a radical interpretation of the text.

-The boys of Friday Night Lights are getting scary on the big screen. Taylor Kitsch just signed on to play a psycho cop in Exit 147, while the trailer for a new found-footage horror film starring Zach Gilford has landed.

-Speaking of FNL, the cast’s panel from the Austin Television Festival is now on YouTube.

-Beyonce stopped a concert mid-song to Facetime with a fan. I guess that answers the ‘was she lip-synching?’ question.

-Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas is developing a show about zombie med students. Yes, please!

-Speaking of Veronica Mars, Kristen Bell was hounded by the paps at LAX this week. Shoulda brought her taser…

-Meanwhile, Kristen looks great in the new issue of Flare.

Lily Allen is back! Just for a British holiday ad, but still.

-Margot Robbie is dismissing those rumours that she’s having an affair with Will Smith.

-Wait, Deryck Whibley took Avril Lavigne’s last name?

-I’m still not convinced we need Netflix to make four new Marvel shows, but at least one of them will be about Jessica Jones.

Justin Bieber learned the hard way that if you’re going to partake in a little illegal graffiti, maybe you shouldn’t brag about it on social media using photos (soon to be referred to as “Exhibit A.”)

-Brace yourself; Cameron Diaz just joined Twitter.

Adam Scott’s latest TV theme song spoof takes on the Too Close for Comfort theme.

Alanis Morissette‘s Jagged Little Pill is set to become Broadway musical. “Yay!” said absolutely nobody.

-Every other actress in Hollywood should drop out of the Best Guest-Starring Emmy race (sorry, Alison Janney!). Lisa Kudrow just won it with her sexism speech on last night’s Scandal.

-A Hunger Games theme park might be in the works, because who doesn’t want to frolick amongst a gang of homicidal children?

-NBC continues to give Anne Heche chances. She’s set to co-write and star in a new sitcom.

-In other sitcom news, ABC just bought Kristen Schaal’s incredibly weird-sounding American Monster.

Paul Haggis‘ new movie Third Person got terrible reviews at TIFF, but it still somehow managed to land US distribution.

-What exactly is Rose McGowan wearing and why?

Jimmy Kimmel recut the Thor 2 trailer to make it seem like a Love, Actually-esque rom-com.

-Speaking of Love, Actually, here’s a great oral history in honour of its 10th anniversary.

-Saving Mr. Banks with Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson debuted last night, and everyone loved it.

-This trailer for Colin Farrell’s new romantic drama Winter’s Tale takes a weird turn near the end — but it coincides with the part in the trailer where his hair gets really good so I’m still onboard.
