Ryan Reynolds Rehabs Peleton

–Ryan Reynolds and his ad agency pulled together that Peleton ad in response to And Just Like That in only 48 hours. Reynolds did a quick Aviation Gin ad when that cringey holiday Peloton commercial went viral a couple years ago, so it makes sense that they would come to him for some instant brand rehabilitation. (Don’t watch if you’re not caught up with the Sex and the City revival, obvs.)

–Tom Holland and Zendaya are super cute here, talking about how they can’t be in the kitchen at the same time because her cooking style is haphazard, while he likes to precisely follow recipes.

–Britney Spears posted a bunch of screengrabs of her notes app which contained basically stream of conscious thoughts about hot chocolate and Christmas shopping, but she did make some pointed comments about her infamous 2003 interview with Diane Sawyer.

-I’m not sure what the baby bar exam is, but Kim Kardashian says she passed it.

-God, that Succession finale was so good. I kept thinking about how Kieran Culkin said he and Jeremy Strong disagree about whether the show is a comedy or a drama, and how that scene in the parking lot perfectly embodied that.

-Meanwhile, Jeremy Strong‘s celeb friends keep rushing to “defend” him over that completely innocuous magazine profile. Aaron Sorkin, Adam Mckay and Anne Hathaway weighed in over the weekend, which inadvertently kept it in the news cycle. Are stars really so far removed from the profiles of 10-20 years ago that they think any article that isn’t incredibly fawning is a hit piece? That New Yorker profile did more to humanize Strong than any other interview I’ve read with him. Does everyone in Hollywood forget when celebs weren’t media trained within an inch of their lives, and profiles weren’t just PR fluff pieces? They should all revisit Jennifer Lopez’s 1998 Movieline interview (in which she slams Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, and more) to remember how these things used to go.

-Everyone’s guessing Adam Mckay and Will Ferrell for this blind item, which seems crazy.

-Any movie that isn’t a superhero flick seems to be struggling at the box office (and we are, after all, still in a pandemic) but West Side Story’s returns were bad enough to surprise people.

–Olivia Colman inadvertently mocked Jack Whitehall’s acting when they both appeared on the Graham Norton Show. God, I love her.

–Keanu Reeves also appeared on that episode of GNS — and forgot the name of the movie he was promoting.

-Meanwhile, Keanu Reeves and his Bill & Ted costar Alex Winter has a double date this weekend.

–Armie Hammer’s lawyer told People: “I can confirm that Mr. Hammer has left the treatment facility and is doing great.”

-The Ben Affleck/Ana de Armas erotic thriller Deep Water is being released after all. It’s coming to Hulu in the US and Amazon Prime elsewhere. Does this mean they get to skip the awkward press tour?

-I missed this video of Adele doing a makeup tutorial with NikkieTutorials. I love this as a promo tour stop!

–Elon Musk was named TIME’s ‘Person of the Year’ and nobody is happy about it.

–Drake and Kanye West put their beef aside to forces for a much-anticipated benefit concert in Los Angeles last week — and everyone was talking about how Ye outshined Drake.

-It’s interesting to see Station Eleven make some Best of 2021 TV lists, seeing as it just debuts this week.

-I watched The Hating Game this weekend and was pleasantly surprised, given the buildup I had in my head. And the reviews are good!

–Susan Sarandon is the queen of country music in the trailer for Fox’s Monarch.

-The gang returns to Hogwarts in the first full trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore.

Lady Gaga’s Duel Vogue Covers

–Lady Gaga is on the December cover of of both British Vogue and Vogue Italia. She looks amazing on both, but it’s the Italia one on the right for me. In the interview, she talks about how committed she was when preparing for her role in House of Gucci. “It is three years since I started working on it and I will be fully honest and transparent: I lived as [her character Reggiani] for a year and a half. And I spoke with an accent for nine months of that. Off camera, I never broke. I stayed with her.”

-J. Crew unveiled its holiday campaign with Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith, and the whole thing is a delight! The little videos further down on the page are sooo cute. “Katie, call me in case this doesn’t work out.” “You call it a toque.” “That’s its name!”

–Kristen Stewart confirmed that she and her girlfriend of two years, Dylan Meyer, are engaged. She told Howard Stern, “We’re marrying, we’re totally gonna do it.”

-In his British GQ cover story, Jamie Dornan says he’s sick of people making fun of Fifty Shades of Grey. “Look, put it this way: It’s done no harm to my career to be part of a movie franchise that has made more than $1 billion. Every working actor would say the same thing. It’s provided a lot. There’s no shame in saying it’s transformed my life and my family’s life financially. I am very, very grateful for this and always will be…But I take issue with the whole thing being just a bit of a joke. Everyone involved worked as hard as they could on those films, including myself.”

-Game Of Thrones actress Gemma Whelan, who played Yara, says the show didn’t have an intimacy coordinator so sex scenes were a “frenzied mess.”

-Speaking of GoT alums, Jason Momoa says he’s “camped out at his house” after testing positive for covid. Judging by the rep he gained while shooting in here in Toronto this summer, I’m not surprised.

–Ed Sheeran has been cleared to perform on SNL after completing quarantine following a positive test. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift and Saweetie have just been added as musical guests in Nov.

-The remaining members of Little Mix say that they talked to Jesy Nelson about blackfishing before she left the group last December. “Jesy was approached by the band in a very friendly, educational manner.”

–Shonda Rhimes‘ next Netflix show, Inventing Anna, will drop in Feb. The eight-episode limited series, based on a New York Magazine story about a charming young grifter who infiltrated NYC’s social scene, began production in fall 2019 and finished a full year later because of the pandemic.

-I love that the girls from The Bold Type spent Halloween together.

–Dave Chappelle introduced Jay-Z‘s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and began his speech by saying, “I would like to apologize to… Nah, I’m just f—in’ with ya.” Classy.

–Kieran Culkin visited Vanity Fair’s Succession podcast and talked about how his character will never admit how much he loves his siblings.

-Here’s a look at HBO Max’s upcoming series Station Eleven. I loved the book and I adore Mackenzie Davis, but man am I not ready yet to watch post-pandemic apocalyptic drama.

–Kieran Culkin‘s THR cover story is delightful. He opens up about his strange celebrity childhood, his fears about fame, and why everyone on the Succession set loves Sarah Snook.

-I liked this interview with Julianna Margulies on joining The Morning Show. “I went to Sarah Lawrence college. I think if there isn’t a better place to learn about what being gay is, I don’t know.”

-Oh god. THR’s new story on how Hollywood is divided on vaccines includes a bit about how Letitia Wright, who is currently reprising her role as Princess Shuri in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as it films in Atlanta, has reportedly continued to express anti-vaccine skepticism on the set of the film.

–Britney Spears‘ boyfriend Sam Asghari seems to be encouraging her that she return to the stage. Should she, though?

–Emily Ratajkowski says the story about Robin Thicke allegedly groping her while shooting the Blurred Lines video was “frustrating” because that passage from her book “was leaked” against her will. “I feel like it just turns into a clickbait frenzy, and all of a sudden words like ‘sexual assault’ and ‘allegations’ are getting thrown around rather than people reading the actual essay, so, again, I’m just looking forward to when people will be able to hear things in my own words.”

–Diplo may face criminal charges for sexual misconduct stemming from allegations in an October 2020 police report.

-A judge ruled that Charlie Sheen no longer has to pay child support, which ‘blindsided’ Denise Richards, according to her camp.

-Fans are going nuts about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion trailer.

–Jake Gyllenhaal was talking about shooting sex scenes with Jennifer Aniston in The Good Girl and explained that for intimate scenes, a pillow was placed between the actors. “The pillow technique was used. That was just preemptive and used generally always when actually in a horizontal place in that movie…I think that was actually a Jennifer suggestion. She was very kind to suggest it before we began. She was like, ‘I’m putting a pillow here.'” Smart!

-Squid Game’s Jung Ho-yeon has just been named a Global House Ambassador for Louis Vuitton. I love her and want only good things for her.

-Meanwhile, this Halloween’s hottest costume is the Squid Game jumpsuit.

-According to reviews, Michael Keaton and Kaitlyn Dever will break your heart in Dopesick, Hulu’s harrowing drama about the origins of the opioid crisis in America. It looks so good, and yet I don’t think I have it in me to watch something that dark right now.
