-I’m surprised NBC agreed to end This Is Us since it seems to be one of the few legitimate network hits left, but good for them for going out on their own terms.

-Yesterday Ellen DeGeneres alluded to cancel culture when she announced her show’s ending, and today she said that the toxic workplace complaints were “orchestrated”. She told the Today Show: “I really didn’t understand it. I still don’t understand it. It was too orchestrated. It was too coordinated. People get picked on, but for four months straight for me. And then for me to read in the press about a toxic work environment, when all I’ve ever heard from every guest that comes on the show is what a happy atmosphere this is and what a happy place this is.” Right, because celebrities guests who pop in for two hours would have similar experiences as fulltime crew members.

-Meanwhile, her former employees are happy that she seems to be facing consequences.

-There’s talk that Tiffany Haddish might fill Ellen’s shoes.

BTS alone will make it a ratings monster.

-So the Golden Globes are pretty much dead, huh? Netflix kicked things off on Friday by announcing they were “stopping any activities” with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association until changes were made about their lack of diversity, and Amazon quickly followed suit. Then today, NBC announced it wouldn’t air the show next year, stars like Scarlett Johansson, Ava DuVernay and Mark Ruffalo called them out, and Tom Cruise GAVE BACK the awards he’s won over the years as a sign of protest. (Hopefully we’ll finally get justice for Brendan Fraser.)

John Mulaney and his wife Annamarie Tendler are splitting up after six years of marriage — and it seems like it was his decision. In a statement to People via her rep, she said “I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage. I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.”

Gal Gadot says Joss Whedon treated her badly on the Justice League set: “He kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable. I handled it on the spot.” That lines up with what a source told the Hollywood Reporter in their exposé about it: “Joss was bragging that he’s had it out with Gal. He told her he’s the writer and she’s going to shut up and say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie.”

Hugh Jackman posted a photo of him looking really old, and news outlets didn’t get that he was wearing makeup for a movie.

-What the hell? Criminal Minds’ star Thomas Gibson was suspended after kicking a writer-producer. This is the second time he’s had a physical altercation with a producer on this set. Man, the Dharma & Greg folks have not aged well.

-More stories about how Vin Diesel isn’t exactly a gem continue to surface.

-This article about what it means to be a difficult actor versus a difficult actress is worth your time.

-The TCAs saved my favourite network for last. Lots of goodies from The CW dropped today, including that a character on one of the superhero shows will come outDolph Lundgren will star as Arrow’s villain during their last year of flashbacks, and The Flash and Supergirl are planning a musical crossover that may include Arrow and Legends cast members. Amell has already bowed out, but if we can get a song between Victor Garber, Jesse L Martin, John Barrowman and the Glee alums, I’ll be happy. Remember when Grant Gustin did “Smooth Criminal” and made us all forget that we were supposed to hate his character?

Rachel Weisz is suffering an identity crisis in the Complete Unknown trailer.
