Ryan Gosling Remembers His Childhood Dance Career

–Ryan Gosling was all kinds of adorable on the Graham Norton Show, begrudgingly reflecting on his career as a young dancer and recalling the time he got Meryl Streep to compliment his mom’s beehive. (Sidenote: Ben Affleck looked ROUGH.)

-Congrats to Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, who are engaged. Maybe now we’ll remember that they’re a couple. (Probably not, tho.)

-God, I love that Hidden Figures continues to dominate the box office, crushing both Ben Affleck and Martin Scorsese’s latest films and becoming the first movie with multiple female leads to remain No. 1 since 2011.

–Claire Danes says her son throws tantrums using Homeland set jargon. Just in case you thought tantrums couldn’t possibly get more annoying…

-I spent way too much time this weekend binging Netflix’s Crazyhead, which is a direct descendant of Buffy but with a British twist.

-Speaking of Netflix originals, there are lots of cool-sounding shows coming to the streaming site this year. I’m especially intrigued by Glow, Gypsy, Girlboss and The Santa Clarita Diet.

-Meanwhile, here’s a closer look at Marvel’s next Netflix show, The Defenders. If I only finished Jessica Jones but gave up on Daredevil and Luke Cage, will I be lost?

-The internet collectively freaked today when drakeandrihanna.com debuted with a giant countdown clock. What could it all mean? MTV came up with 36 possibilities before our dreams were crushed with the news that it’s probably fake.

-Meanwhile, Drake and Rihanna went on a dinner date last night in NYC so I guess that’ll have to be enough for now. *pout*

-I know it’s totally ridiculous, but dammit if I’m not buying everything Willow and Jaden Smith is trying to sell us in this Interview piece (conducted by Pharrell Williams, cause why not?).

-Oh FFS. Chris Brown posted an anti-cop rant as police arrived at his house to investigate reports he allegedly threatened a woman with a gun. Police found guns and drugs after he threw a duffel bag out of a window. And yet, I still saw tweets caping for him during this. Sigh.

-Is Joshua Jackson still pining for Diane Kruger? And is she jerking him around?! PACEY DESERVES BETTER!!

-The best thing about the end of summer is that it coincides with all the big network shows’ DVD releases, which means we get a whole lotta new gag reels. Out today is Grey’s Anatomy and Arrow.

-Say what you will about Ryan Reynolds (and I have), but it’s pretty great that he paid to have the Deadpool writers on the set of the movie when Fox wouldn’t.

–Colton Haynes is a precious unicorn who must be protected at all cost. (Though he just landed a movie with Scarlett Johansson and Kate McKinnon, so he’s probably doing fine.)

–Aaron Paul and Jamie Dornon are in a movie that’s opening this weekend and no one knows about it? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!

-Send out some positive vibes into the universe today for Shannen Doherty, ok?

-More shady stuff is going down surrounding Leonardo DiCaprio’s charitable foundation.

–Scott Eastwood says he didn’t notice any friction on the Fast 8 set. No one asked you, Scott!

–Allison Janney plays a detective for the first time in Girl on a Train, and she says the role made her feel powerful on set. “I arrested Emily [Blunt] a number of times for acting infractions.”

-Here are new promos for Shameless and Younger, two shows I like when I catch them but can never, ever seem to remember that they exist.

-Shocking report: WB wants to make a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie trilogy.

–James Corden pretended to work out at Kanye West’s gym with Teyana Taylor. It went about as well as could be expected.

-Dancing with the Stars really is really bottom barrelling with this year’s cast, huh?

–Zooey Deschanel and her husband Jacob Pechenik have named their daughter Elsie Otter. In real life.

–Jaden Smith is straight up trolling us now.

-Even Mulder is starting to have his doubts in The X Files’ new trailer (which, unlike yesterday’s promos, seems official).

–Bill Murray showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live looking like this last night, for reasons unknown.

-And here I thought The Royal We news was going to be the biggest thing to happen to Lauren Graham this week, and then came the Gilmore Girls revival news. I’m not quite sure how I feel about this. I love love love that show (and not just because my review was blurbed on the DVD box set!), but I’m not sure they’ll be able to capture the magic of the original. I adore this line from the NYT article: “Netflix has become a digital ‘Peter Pan’: If you clap hard enough and believe, your beloveds never have to die.”

-Like the rest of us, Amy Adams wishes she was cool enough to hang out with Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence.

–Missy Peregrym‘s farewell to the Rookie Blue cast is really quite sweet.

–Gerard Butler was at the Jays game last night? I’m guessing he wasn’t sitting in the nosebleeds like us.

–Kanye West surprised the internet with these two semi-new, really nostalgic tracks.

–Drake surprised the internet with a new video — and made us all appreciate his sweater game.

-Slate’s interviews with writers/showrunners about what it’s like to be a POC in Hollywood is a fascinating read.

–Lena Dunham launched a new podcast called Women of the Hour, where she’ll speak with Emma Stone, Janet Mock, June Squibb (!!!), Zadie Smith, and more.

–Ryan Sweeting is asking Kaley Cuoco for spousal support following their divorce news.

-There was a shakeup at SNL today when Weekend Update anchor Colin Jost stepped down as head writer. Is this because he someone made Amy Schumer unfunny?

-I still have no idea what The Force Awakens is going to be about, but the new trailer is pretty damn fun. Daisy Ridley and John Boyega’s reactions video to the trailer are also awesome.

-This Beyond the Sea featurette shows Brangelina getting ready for a night out. If the entire film is just two hours of this, I’d still watch.
