Rachel Bloom Takes Music Covers To A New Level

-Digital magazine editions are the new big thing. Last week, Gwyneth Paltrow was on the digital-only cover of Glamour, and now Rachel Bloom has created a music cover for Allure’s digital edition. (Not surprisingly, her song uses the word “clit” repeatedly because she’s awesome.)

-The first Bohemian Rhapsody reviews are starting to trickle in. The results on the movie as a whole are mixed at best (with some reviewers flat-out hating it) but everyone seems to agree that Rami Malek nails it.

Steve Carell just signed on to be the male lead in the Apple drama about a morning show starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. The yet-untitled drama was already picked up for 2 seasons, even though there’s still no word how — and when — Apple will release its original programming. They really need to stop making casting announcements until they reveal the basics. Do we all need Apple TV?

-As if turning down the SuperBowl wasn’t badass enough, Rihanna is now reportedly working on a music video starring Colin Kaepernick.

-Speaking of Rihanna, she posted another mesmerizing makeup tutorial — this time on Halloween. (Though it’s become slightly harder to enjoy these ever since Diet Prada pointed out that she’s copied some.)

-Just in time for Halloween, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimi reflect on Hocus Pocus 25 years later.

-Ohhhh….this is intriguing: Emma Thompson will star in the adaptation of Caitlin Moran’s How to Build A Girl.

-Vogue is apologizing for their culturally appropriating Kendall Jenner photoshoot.

Paul Feig continues to say all the right things about promoting women in Hollywood. I really like this dude.

Sarah Silverman responded to Louis C.K. accuser Rebecca Corry, who wasn’t impressed with her recent comments: “Rebecca I’m sorry. Ugh this is why I don’t like weighing in. I can’t seem to do press 4 my show w/out being asked about it. But you’re right- you were equals and he fucked with you and it’s not ok. I’m sorry, friend. You are so talented and so kind.”

-Everything Caity Weaver writes is great, including this piece on why all the Real Housewives shows sound the same.

Cardi B‘s new song is a banger.

-I don’t even watch Blindspot, but I will definitely read an article that’s titled “PSA: NBC’s #Blindspot Is The Procedural That F**ks.”

-I do, however, watch Legends of Tomorrow — and last night’s premiere was perfection. I agree with this piece on how it really is the best antidote for dreary, grim “prestige TV.”

-Speaking of anti-prestige shows, critics are loving the foreign teen drama Elite on Netflix.

-This piece on whether or not Jason Mantzoukas is hot feels like it was pulled directly from my brain.

-I really liked the book The Passage but I’m not sure how good an adaptation that airs on Fox will be. Still, this trailer intrigues me.
