Adele’s New Wine Anthem

-The tracklist for Adele‘s new album includes songs titled “I Drink Wine”, “Can I Get It” and “Oh My God.” I’m here for all of it.

Lil Nas X is WSJ magazine‘s music innovator of the year and talks about his social media savviness (“Anybody who tries to s— on me on Twitter, it’s just not gonna work”) and courting controversy (“You take certain things like kissing a guy onstage: I know that’s going to be something that’s talked about. But let’s get into the root cause of why it’s being talked about”).

Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson were photographed holding hands while riding a roller coaster at a Halloween event on Friday night, but sources insist they’re just friends.

-In his new book, Kal Penn reveals he’s engaged to his boyfriend of 11 years — and that he’s had a boyfriend for 11 years.

Mariah Carey‘s annual Nov 1’s post included pumpkin smashing this year.

-On a new podcast, Hailey Baldwin talked about standing by Justin Bieber amid his mental health struggles. “I was in it. I made a decision. I know for a fact that I’ve loved this person for a very long time and now would not be the time to give up on him. I just wouldn’t do that to him. Imagine abandoning somebody in the middle of the worst time of their life, potentially. I’m not that type of a person. So I was going to stick it out no matter what the outcome was going to be.”

Hannah Waddingham and Sharon Stone met on a red carpet this weekend and freaked the hell out over each other.

Chris Pratt is really leaning into voice work. He’ll play Garfield in a new animated feature. He had had a lead voice role in Disney/Pixar’s Onward, and was recently announced to be voicing Mario in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie.

Florence Pugh debuted her new, short hairstyle. I dig it.

-I’m not sure that the guy who reportedly handed Alec Baldwin the gun on the set of Rust should be releasing statements that scold the film industry about safety.

-Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants alums Blake Lively and Amber Tamblyn hung out for Halloween.

Steve Buscemi was the best dressed celeb this Halloween.

-Outspoken anti-v*xxer Kristy Swanson has reportedly been hospitalized with covid.

Ice Cube has dropped out of a comedy costarring Jack Black after declining to get vaccinated. He walked away from a $9 million payday in the process.

Ed Sheeran says Elton John is good (maybe too good?) at keeping in touch. “I think people think I’m exaggerating and lying when I say he calls every day. He calls me every single morning. Even if it’s like 10 seconds, every single morning he calls.”

-With The Good Place’s William Jackson Harper in the lead, this season of HBO Max’s Love Life is getting glowing reviews.

-I gave up on The Morning Show but have not given up on the recaps to see what wildly ill-conceived plot twists they keep coming up with.

-The upcoming Disney+ Mandalorian spinoff, The Book of Boba Fett, got its first trailer today. It stars Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen and Jennifer Beals.

Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson star in the trailer for Roland Emmerich‘s Moonfall.

Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple: Ted Lasso’s Unlikely BFFs

Ted-Lasso-Hannah-Waddingham-and-Juno-Temple

-I love this profile on Ted Lasso costars and friends Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple. They talk masculinity, sports, and how Waddingham considers Temple a “fairy godmother unicorn” to her daughter.

-Meanwhile, one thing that came up repeatedly in Jason Sudeikis’ GQ profile is how much like Ted Lasso his friends think he is. Here’s more proof: a journalist shared an email that Sudeikis had written him after their interview three years ago, in which the reporter mentioned that he’d recently lost his dad. It is the most heartwarming, positive, Lasso-esque thing ever. “It’s important and fucking necessary for us human beings to do that. To connect. To share. And to not concern ourselves too much with the outcome of such bravery. Especially the men of the world. Our generation is the first to “understand” that notion, but darn it, I’d love to try and be the first generation of fellas to “live” the notion as well.”

-This is a great deep dive into the inexplicable allure of Pete Davidson.

-In court yesterday, Britney Spears said she wants to charge her father with conservatorship abuse. “I want to press charges against my father today. I want an investigation into my dad….I was always extremely scared of my dad.” She also said her hair vitamins and coffee have been confiscated (“Ma’am, that’s not abuse, that’s just f*cking cruelty. Excuse my language, but it’s the truth”). She gave a shout out to the #FreeBritney movement and used the hashtag for the first time.

Ashton Kutcher said Mila Kunis convinced him to give up his Virgin Galactic ticket. “My wife basically encouraged that it was not a smart family decision to be heading into space when we have young children.”

-I’ve always liked Chrissy Teigen but her latest post is nuts. We’re all emotionally battered from the pandemic, Cubans are starving, Nasa is warning that the moon is wobbling, and she’s over here making posts complaining about being “cancelled”??!? First, if your platform includes 34M Insta followers and 13M Twitter followers, you are anything but cancelled. Second, I will never understand celebrities who don’t seem to have friends they can complain about this shit with in a group chat, rather than airing it all in public.

-The reviews for Apple’s Schmigadoon are decidedly mixed, but I’m still looking forward to it.

-YouTuber and TikToker Hunter “Echo” Ecimovic did an Instagram livestream on Tuesday, saying that he “groomed” Mille Bobbie Brown. She’s having none of it.

-I love that Kat Graham is in Cannes. She was the best thing about The Vampire Diaries and I only want good things for her.

-Love Actually and Sanditon actor Kris Marshall apologized for his ‘offensive and insensitive’ comments after Death in Paradise exit. He said that he felt his son was becoming “a bit too Caribbean” after spending three years on the island of Guadeloupe.

-I know people really liked the Loki finale, but that was extremely unsatisfying to me. It felt more like a big setup for the future of the MCU, rather than the conclusion of the story they were trying to tell. A show that has — up until this point — been so centered on Loki had a finale that just….wasn’t. (The guest star killed it though.)

-Here’s the first trailer for Taika Waititi‘s new Hulu show Reservation Dogs.
