–Tom Cruise turns 50 today. I’m guessing this wasn’t the happiest birthday ever, especially since he was hoping to celebrate it with Katie Holmes in Iceland. Instead, he had to head home to concentrate on damage control. On the plus side: dude, you look *great*! (See the Jack Reacher trailer below.)

-Meanwhile, now that Tom can’t prevent Katie from doing a Dawson’s Creek reunion anymore (that monster!), will it happen? If so, Joshua Jackson better stop “wincing” at the thought of it.

-Is it weird that all of Tom‘s relationships crumbled with his significant other turned 33? First Mimi Rogers, then Nicole Kidman, then Penelope Cruz and now Katie.

-Porn star James Deen (no, really) insists he’s not sleeping with costar Lindsay Lohan. The day is young, kid.

–Jena Malone has reportedly been offered the role of Johanna in The Hunger Games sequel.

–Kim Kardashian and Kanye West visited a children’s hospital. Haven’t sick kids been through enough?!?

-Remember when Alex Pettyfer was supposed to be the new It Guy around the time of I Am Four, but his super bad attitude reportedly got in the way and Hollywood put him on a time out? Well, he’s back with Magic Mike — and so’s the ‘tude. Not being able to get along with Channing Tatum is like not being able to get along with a basket of puppies!

–Anderson Cooper is thanking Hollywood heavyweights for their support following his coming out.

Is Britney Spears Making Simon Cowell Nervous?

-Is Simon Cowell worried that had he made a mistake in hiring Britney Spears? I’m guessing he’s not worried about the crazy ratings he’s going to pull in from viewers looking for a train wreck.

–Tyler Perry has denied those reports of Bobbi Kristina‘s walking off his set.

-Will Snow White and The Huntsman be a poison apple for Universal? It’s expected to open at No. 1 with $40-50 million this weekend, but that might not be enough to keep it from being considered a flop.

–Charlie Sheen‘s ex Brooke Mueller is reportedly back in rehab.

-Ugly girls, rejoice! The magazine that published that Megan Fox quote about not wanting to trade places “with an unattractive girl” has issued a retraction and apology.

-The Emmy nominations haven’t already come out yet, and all ready the roundtables are being filmed. The Hollywood Reporter is first out of the gate with a video chat with some of the best actress hopefuls: Shameless’ Emmy Rossum, Mad Men’s January Jones, Homeland‘s Claire Danes, The Killing‘s Mireille Enos, The Good Wife’s Julianna Margulies, and The Closer‘s Kyra Sedgwick. If you have the time to watch the full video it’s worth it, if only to reinforce your girl crushes on Claire, Julianna and Kyra.

–Gwyneth Paltrow threw Jessica Alba a bone with this week’s GOOP.

–Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana are looking cozy again.

–Usher‘s ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, insists they’re “not enemies,” despite their crazy bitter custody battle.

-These Carly Rae Jepsen “Call Me Maybe” image parodies are all kinds of great.

–Kristen Bell and Jenna Fischer are support-Tweeting at each other about their workout routines.

–Justin Timberlake showed up at the Walmart shareholder’s meeting, for some reason. And he’s wearing a straw skirt. Cringe attack!

-This is fun: the new Metric album isn’t out until June 12, but you can listen to it if you play a game. Players are given a series of clues, and correct answers lead to an early stream of the album.

-It looks like Snooki will be living in the Jersey Shore house this season after all.
