Jennifer Coolidge’s Golden Night

-The Golden Globes remain ridiculous, but they also remain fun (or at least very drunk). Jerrod Carmichael did great as host (I didn’t love his Whitney Houston or Will Smith joke, but he made up for it with the Scientology one), Jennifer Coolidge charmed the room with her speech, Rihanna showed up lateMichelle Yeoh responded to an attempt to play her off with “Shut up, please! I can beat you up, okay?”,  Sheryl Lee Ralph shaded the Kardashians, and Regina Hall was hilarious (though I’m still not sure if she was trying to be).

-Not surprisingly, Brad Pitt was front and centre the whole night and embraced with open arms.

-Abbott Elementary did well at the Globes, and ABC gave it an early season 3 renewal today.

-When it was announced that Amanda Seyfried wasn’t there to accept her award because she’s “deep in the middle of filming a musical,” Twitter got VERY excited. Unfortunately, she later confirmed that it’s not Mamma Mia 3.

-In other awards news, Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Banshees of Inisherin lead the 2023 SAG Award noms. I didn’t love Michelle Williams‘ performance in The Fablemans, but I’m shocked she wasn’t nominated. On the TV side, Ozark led with four, while Barry and Only Murders in the Building have three each.

-It’s actually surprising that it took this long for Dunkin’ Donuts to get Ben Affleck to do some promo.

Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell will star in a new rom-com from Easy A director Will Gluck. She’s a decade younger than him but I’ll take it!

-In a new podcast, Geena Davis recounts the abuse she says she endured from Bill Murray on the set of the 1990 film Quick Change.

Prince Harry sat down with Stephen Colbert and talked about how his his mother would have handled the rift between him and Prince William if she were still alive. “We wouldn’t have got to this moment. It’s impossible to say where we would be now, where those relationships would be now, but there is no way that the distance between my brother and I would be the same.”

-Meanwhile, here are the biggest revelations from Prince Harry‘s book, ranked.

Pete Davidson was spotted hanging out with Chase Sui Wonders, his Bodies Bodies Bodies costar.

-The Workaholics movie has been canned by Paramount+ just five weeks before filming was slated to begin. Says star and cowriter Adam DeVine, “We are deeply butt hurt about this decision.”

-This is a fascinating look at how TikTok has changed what fans expect from pop stars.

Chris Harrison is breaking his silence about his messy exit from The Bachelor franchise. “Everybody was talking about me in this moment, and I wasn’t speaking.”

-I’m not sure I fully buy this take on how the opening sequence foreshadowed what would happen in Glass Onion, but it’s interesting.

Mindy Kaling has assembled the Scooby gang in the new Velma trailer.
