Angelina Jolie Sparkles in Rome

Angelina Jolie and her daughters Zahara and Shiloh were stunning at the Eternal premiere in Rome. This is the best dress she’s worn in ages.  (Her extensions were weak, though.)

-Speaking of the Eternals press tour style, Gemma Chan has been flawless.

-There’s lots of talk that there’s trouble in paradise for John Mulaney and Olivia Munn. Us Weekly is quoting a source who says, “Olivia and John still have to decide what kind of future they’re going to have together, if any. It’s a time of uncertainty, for both of them.” Meanwhile, DeuxMoi is posting blinds about them splitting up.

-Ex Bachelor host Chris Harrison is engaged to Entertainment Tonight reporter Lauren Zima. I appreciate that neither of their IG posts made a joke about giving each other a rose.

-SNL is reportedly scrambling to replace Ed Sheeran as a musical guest after he revealed he tested positive for COVID, and The Mountain Goats have volunteered as tribute.

-In a new stand-up video, Dave Chappelle denies reports that he refused to meet with Netflix’s transgender employees. “That is not true — if they had invited me I would have accepted it, although I am confused about what we would be speaking about.” He added, “To the transgender community, I am more than willing to give you an audience, but you will not summon me. I am not bending to anybody’s demands.”

Kristen Stewart says she’s only proud of 5 movies on her resume. Which ones could they be?!?

-I heartily endorse this video encouraging people to binge the fifth season of The Good Fight. Maybe my fave season yet?

-A search warrant obtained by the L.A. Times details what happened on the set of Rust and in cinematographer Halyna Hutchins‘ final minutes. Alec Baldwin was practicing removing a revolver from its holster and aiming toward the camera during rehearsal. He had been given the gun by the AD, who incorrectly declared it “cold,” which is a term used to describe a weapon that contains no live rounds.

-The showrunner of ABC’s The Rookie is the first to ban live fire from his set following the accident. It’s a good start, but I hope the bigger conversation revolves around how crew members need to be better trained, paid and rested.

Paul Walker‘s daughter got married, and his Fast and the Furious costar Vin Diesel walked her down the aisle in place of her late father.

-The Ruby Rose vs CW/WBTV feud continues. In a new statement, Warner Bros. Television “condemned” Rose’s recent allegations about her TV dad on Batwoman, Dougray Scott. “Warner Bros. has found Mr. Scott to be a consummate professional, and never received any allegation against him of bullying, or of abusive behavior on his part. Mr. Scott was greatly respected and admired by his colleagues, and was a leader on the set.”

-Meanwhile, Rose dropped another bunch of screenshots on Instagram Stories but they’re really hard to read and the messaging is confusing. If she has allegations/proof that the set is unsafe I wish she’d figure out a better way to release it. (It also doesn’t help that her first drop included the incorrect claim that Batwoman didn’t shut down production for Covid until after The Flash, Supergirl and Riverdale. The latter shut down a couple of days before the other CW shows because of a positive test, but the rest all shut down the same day.)

-Also not helping her case, a PA on the show called her a “dictator to work for.”  (She says he wasn’t on the call sheet and didn’t work there, but other crew members came to his defense.)

Jim Caviezel has fallen all the way down the Q rabbit hole.

James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther on Friends, has passed away at age 59 after a battle with prostate cancer.

Dylan Sprouse and Virginia Gardner have been cast in the movie adaptation of Beautiful Disasters. I can’t believe of all the amazing romance novels out there to adapt, they’re going ahead with this book. Not only has this adaptation been struggling to get off the ground for a decade, but lots of people think the book is problematic. Plus, the author keeps creating shitstorms with her social media posts, whether it’s her racists talk, her fatphobia or her anti-v*xx crap.

Brendan Fraser will play the villain in HBO Max’s Batgirl movie. Love this for him.

Nina Dobrev and Abigail Cowen star in the Redeeming Love trailer.

Reese Witherspoon Gets Goofy

Reese Witherspoon‘s Vanity Fair cover photo almost seems like an outtake — but I kind of love it. The actress said of the pic on Instagram: “When I first saw this cover, I thought, ‘Oh my goodness… what a goofball!’ But here I am captured, probably snort-laughing, in all my goofy glory!”

-In the interview, Reese talks about the #MeToo movement and what it was like as a child actor working with adults: “Bad things happened to me. I was assaulted, harassed. It wasn’t isolated. I recently had a journalist ask me about it. She said, Well, why didn’t you speak up sooner? And I thought, that’s so interesting to talk to someone who experienced those things and then judge them for the way they decide to speak about them. You tell your story in your own time when you’re ready.”

-Speaking of great covers, Harry Styles covers Beauty Papers in nothing but Gucci fishnets.

-During isolation, Miley Cyrus is hosting a “talk show” every day on Instagram Live and today’s guest was Demi Lovato.

Jennifer Garner and Amy Adams have teamed up on Instagram to recruit celebs to read stories in support of children who are locked out of school.

-From offering safety and hand-washing tips to recommending which shows to binge watch, stars are flooding social media with tips to get through the crisis.

John Legend did a #TogetherAtHome concert on Instagram Live today, and announced the other musicians set to perform via livestream include Miguel, Jhené Aiko, Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello and Charlie Puth.

Vanessa Hudgens is walking back the comments she made on an Instagram Live yesterday, saying they were “taken out of context.” She had said: “Um, yeah, ’til July sounds like a bunch of bulls–t. I’m sorry, but like, it’s a virus, I get it, like, I respect it, but at the same time I’m like, even if everybody gets it, like yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible but like, inevitable?”

Emma Stone has reportedly had to postpone her wedding, which was supposed to take place this weekend in LA.

-Everything about this crisis is terrible — except for this story: Jared Leto says he just came back from 12 days in silent meditation in the desert and had no idea what was happening.  Way to stay on brand, bud.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively announced they are donating $1 million to Feed America and Food Banks Canada.

Tom Cruise is back to shooting the new Mission Impossible movie, social distancing be damned.

Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson are my favourite celebrity couple and this just kicked it to a whole new level.

-Meanwhile, while doing press for Little Fires Everywhere Joshua said he “can’t wait to meet his baby girl.”

-Birds of Prey is the next big movie being released early on video on demand. Keep it coming, Hollywood!

Dylan Sprouse stars in the Banana Split trailer, about two girls who bond when one stars dating the other’s ex.
