Blake Lively Draws Louboutins Onto Her Feet

–Blake Lively badly photoshopping a pair of shoes onto her feet is the content I needed today. She posted “@louboutinworld are you hiring? Barefoot iPhone doodler with vast experience avail.”

-Oh goodie. Now Josh Brolin has weighed in on Chris Pratt, complaining about the “global hate hand job” everyone’s giving his costar. Why won’t they stop?

-Just in case you thought 2020 couldn’t get weirder, Daniel Kaluuya confirmed his live-action Barney movie is really happening and it will be darker than the OG TV show. “Barney taught us, ‘I love you, you love me. Won’t you say you love me too?’ That’s one of the first songs I remember, and what happens when that isn’t true?”

–Matthew McConaughey says he was sexually abused as a teenager in his new memoir Greenlights, writing “I was blackmailed into having sex for the first time when I was 15. I was certain I was going to hell for the premarital sex. Today, I am merely certain that I hope that’s not the case.” He also mentions an incident when he was “molested by a man when I was 18 while knocked unconscious in the back of a van.” Still, he remained an optimist. “I’ve never felt like a victim. I have a lot of proof that the world is conspiring to make me happy.”

–Justin Bieber says he’s not slowing down his support of Black Lives Matter. “I am a white Canadian and I will never know what it feels like to be an African American. [W]hat I do know is I am willing to stand up and use my voice to shine [a] light on racism.”

–Dominic West‘s wife has gone to Ireland on a “work trip.” Uh huh.

–Miranda Lambert‘s new music video has a surprising costar: her husband’s abs.

-I have no interest in ever watching another movie based on a video game again, but Tom Holland is sure working that henley in the first photo from Uncharted.

–Lake Bell and Scott Campbell have called it quits after 7 years of marriage.

-The 100 showrunner is now blaming his much-maligned final season on the network, saying the head of the CW told him to make the show darker. Did he also tell him to kill off beloved characters in throwaway scenes that made zero sense?

–Kristen Bell will star in and exec produce in Netflix’s The Woman in the House, a thriller series about a woman nursing a broken heart who possibly witnesses her neighbor murder someone.

–Noah Cyrus wore a sheer bodysuit (ala Britney in the “Toxic” video) to the CMTs. That went over about as well as you’d expect.

-The cover of Cicely Tyson’s memoir is stunning. It’s a portrait taken by Lord Snowden.

-CBS’ and Trump have been in a pissing contest all day that includes a lot of early clip releases from his 60 Minutes interview that’s airing Sunday.

-The more we hear about the Synder cut, the more it’s clear that this thing never actually existed.

-Wait, so Netflix has reportedly renewed Steve Carell’s Space Force but keeps cancelling shows people actually like? WTF?

-The trailer for the Netflix film The Prom has dropped, starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Kerry Washington, and James Corden. How many times am I going to get sucked into watching a Ryan Murphy joint and instantly regret it? At least one more, apparently.

-In her THR cover story, Shonda Rhimes talks about leaving ABC (she says her breaking point came when she tried to get an extra all-inclusive pass to Disneyland for a trip she took with her kids and sister and a high-ranking exec asked her “Don’t you have enough?”), talks about setting expectations with Netflix (“The first thing I said was, ‘You’re not going to get another Grey’s Anatomy — not Grey’s Anatomy in a cornfield, Grey’s Anatomy on a baseball field or Grey’s Anatomy at an airport, that’s just not happening’ “), and the culture shock of being at the streaming service (“The reason I came to Netflix is because I wanted to be able to make television without anybody bothering me. And as long as I get to keep making television without anybody bothering me, I’m happy”).

–Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and James Gunn took to social media to defend Chris Pratt. So they suddenly showed up when a meaningless throwaway Twitter poll voted him the worst Chris, but stayed silent when Brie Larson was facing hate and brutal boycott campaign from fanboys for being Captain Marvel and advocating for diversity? Screw them.

-Welp, Quibi is dead. Jeffrey Katzenberg is calling investors to tell them he’s shutting the company down, sources tell the Wall Street Journal. They’ll likely blame it on the pandemic and not the atrocious rollout or the fact that we are at the saturation point with streaming services.

–Jennifer Lawrence says her biggest regret about getting married last year is she didn’t have a big bachelorette party.

–Dolly Parton sang a few lines of “Bury Me Beneath The Willow” on the Late Show last night and it made Stephen Colbert cry. I loved her reaction: “I better hush before you cry yourself to death and we can’t finish the show.”

-I loved this chat between Jamie Lee Curtis and Neve Campbell about their reigns as scream queens.

-Legally Blonde 3’s new release date has been confirmed. I’m skeptical we’ll be back in theatres by then, but you do you, Hollywood.

-The reviews for The Witches are in, and it sounds very, very bad. Too bad; I was ready to watch Anne Hathaway ham it up.

-Another movie that isn’t faring well with critics is Netflix’s Rebecca remake mostly because the film portrays the central relationship as straightforwardly romantic, rather than tragic or toxic. The fact that this is how they depict the last scene makes it clear they had no idea what the book was actually about.

-Speaking of reviews, critics seem mixed on Borat 2. But the only thing everyone seems to agree on is the Rudy Giuliani segment is unbelievably uncomfortable. Apparently he follows Borat’s “daughter” into a hotel room and it’s … not good. The screengrab that’s floating around Twitter looks bad enough.

–Jared Leto will play the Joker in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, just in case you needed more convincing to skip it.

–Scott Speedman has joined the cast of You for season 3. I’m really happy for him, but my heart won’t be able to take it if he turns into a murder buddy for Joe.

–Jann Arden‘s sitcom is going to stream in the US on Hulu. Between this and her singing the Dawson’s Creek theme song when it hits Netflix, is this the year of Jann in America? Let’s hope! (She did a Cameo for my friend’s birthday this week and it was the best one I’ve ever seen.)

–Ariana Grande and Adele stans are not happy because they don’t understand how Twitter works.

-Normal People star Daisy Edgar Jones has been cast as Kyra, the lead in the film adaptation of Where the Crawdads Sing. I still haven’t finished that book — not because it’s bad but just because it was too heavy for my brain in 2020.

-Netflix will campaign Chadwick Boseman and Viola Davis in the lead actor and actress categories for their Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom performances. They’ll also submit Boseman for supporting actor in Da 5 Bloods.

-The first trailer for Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon is gorgeous.

-It feels like I watched Normal People 9 million years ago (it was in May) so I should probably be over my Paul Mescal crush, but this new GQ photo spread just pulled me back in. This is some Chris-Evans-in-Knives-Out levels of sweater perfection.

–Zac Efron‘s girlfriend Vanessa Valladares threw him a star-studded surprise birthday party this weekend. Wait, is the pandemic over and nobody told me?!

–Chris Pratt was trending on Twitter this weekend because most of the Avengers cast is assembling for a Biden fundraiser, and he’s the notable absence.  Who’s still surprised that this guy is most likely a Republican? Did we all forget that Ellen Page called him out for supporting an anti-LGBTQ church?

-It seems like only Canadians appreciated the “BonjourHi” sketch on SNL but Bowen Yang killed it. I also thought this cut sketch about Lovecraft County was also good in that they’re right — that show is impossible to describe.

–Adele is hosting SNL next weekend, and I’m already exhausted by the discourse around her weight loss (and the thought that they might do a sketch about it.)

–Harry Styles got a haircut and fans are all up in their feelings.

–R Kelly‘s lawyers say he was beaten in jail and “no one raised a finger.” Presumably the ones who did the beating did though.

-A judge just ruled that Danny Masterson‘s rape case will go forward in court after the actor’s lawyers tried to get it tossed out.

-Black Panther’s Winston Duke had insomnia and spent the night posting shirtless thirst traps. That’s the kind of middle-of-the-night productivity I appreciate!

–Cardi B deleted her Twitter account following her reconciliation with Offset, saying she’s tired of “a bunch of 15-year-olds telling me how to live my life.” She should probably avoid her Insta comments too then.

-Oh god, Kanye West is going to be on Joe Rogan’s podcast next week. I just can’t with either of them.

-Hahahaha – one of the kids from Home Improvement is getting divorced, and copy and pasted his announcement from Armie Hammer. Of all the ones out there to crib, you choose that one?!?

-Speaking of Hammer, his Rebecca costar Lily James is pulling out of interviews after those photos of her and Dominic West surfaced — reportedly because some of the bigger outlets are insisting she address it. I was actually surprised that she was still doing them last week (though not surprised by how awkward she was).

-I really, really liked Olivia Dade‘s new book and this interview on fat representation makes me like it even more.

-I haven’t watched The Trial of the Chicago 7, but there’s a ton of supercuts floating around of dialogue being directly lifted from Aaron Sorkin’s past projects. He remains the master at recycling old bits.

-Sony is denying rumors that originated from a sketchy fan site about Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire joining the cast of Spider-Man 3.

-I really liked this article on Bryan Fuller, shipping and fandom’s purity culture.

-CBS All Access just dropped a new trailer for The Stand. I couldn’t imagine another mini-series I’d want to watch less in the middle of a pandemic.

–Kurt Russell’s Hot Santa is back to save Christmas in the trailer for The Christmas Chronicles 2.

-The trailer for All My Life is here and I’m definitely down to watch Harry Shum Jr as the lead in a romantic drama.
