Dwayne Johnson is not joining the non-bathing celeb cult. He says he showers three times a day because he usually works out twice and then goes to work.

-Here we go: a woman named Virginia Giuffre is suing Prince Andrew. She says Jeffrey Epstein forced her to have sex with the royal three times between 1999 and 2002, when she was underage. “I am holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me.”

-A judge has denied a request from Britney Spears’ attorney to expedite her next hearing regarding the suspension and removal of the singer’s father from her conservatorship. The hearing date will remain Sept. 29.

Dev Patel discussed his acting career in an interview with The Guardian, and talked about how he expected to be offered more roles after his success in Slumdog Millionaire — but it didn’t happen. “I was dating my co-star at the time, Freida [Pinto], and she went on to do all of these amazing things. But in a way, she, too, was being type-cast, as this exotic beauty next to all these Caucasian leading men.”

Kanye West has delayed his Donda album twice – leading some to think he’s setting up a release-date battle with Drake. Or maybe it’s just because — like past releases — someone will have to pry it from his grip and convince him to finally release it.

Renee Zellweger is dating a reality star, which leads to hanging out with other reality stars, granting them an instant level up.

-30 Rock is back on US Netflix, and the episodes featuring blackface have been omitted (though they don’t make that clear).

-In a memo to staff, Jeopardy! EP (and possible new host) Mike Richards addressed the pregnancy discrimination lawsuits filed against him when he was at the Price Is Right. They still can’t be going ahead with this guy, right?

-There’s lots of chatter about how DC’s The Suicide Squad “underperformed” this weekend at the box office by earning $26.5 million. I don’t really get how people are seeing this as a failure when a) it was simultaneously released on HBO Max, b) the fourth wave of Covid is scaring people away from theatres again, and c) the entire industry has changed and we can’t still be measuring success using the old goalposts.

-Meanwhile, comic book writers and artists are speaking out about their struggles for fair payment at Marvel and DC. “They sent a thank you note and $5,000 – the movie made $1B.”

Cardi B is teasing a new collab with Lizzo that’ll drop on Friday.

-Following his health scare, Bob Odenkirk tweeted, “I’ve had my very own “It’s a wonderful life” week of people insisting I make the world slightly better. Wow! Thank you, I love everyone right now but let’s keep expectations reasonable!”

Taylor Swift and Simone Biles joined forces to tug at our heartstrings.

DaBaby has deleted his Instagram apology, because of course he did.

-This is a great profile on Luke Kirby, who is playing one of the olds in the Gossip Girl reboot. (I’m so glad he’s in a good place. I saw him to a Q&A once for Take This Waltz and it ended with him lying on the stage…)

-The Good Fight is having a flawless season and not enough people are talking about it.

-Here’s our first glimpse of season 4 of Stranger Things, a show I completely forgot existed. I’m glad they shot this soon after the last season so the kids still look like kids.

Cardi B Is Expecting Baby No. 2

Cardi B pulled a Beyonce and announced her pregnancy at an awards show.

-Speaking of the BET Awards, Zendaya’s Versace dress was amazing.

Queen Latifah accepted BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award last night and emphasized “Black is beautiful” in her speech.

Jamie Lynn Spears addressed Britney’s conservatorship testimony in videos on her Instagram stories, saying  “I think it’s extremely clear since the day I was born I’ve only loved, adored, and supported my sister… I have nothing to gain or lose… This situation does not affect me.” Nice sentiment, but it doesn’t really square with her request last year to control more of her sister’s assets.

John Mulaney and Olivia Munn were papped together — possibly on purpose.

Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead have announced that they have welcomed their first child, a son, together.

-Don’t expect Succession to last much longer. Writer and executive producer Georgia Pritchett said, “I think the maximum would be five seasons, but possibly more like four.” They’re currently filming season three.

James Corden has responded to the claims that the his segment “Spill Your Guts” is “racist af.”

-F9 had a huge opening ($70m), breathing life back into theatres.

Kaia Gerber wished Jacob Elordi a happy birthday with a sexy bed shot of him and a caption that called him “my love.” That’s one way to announce a relationship, I guess.

-Smallville’s Allison Mack apologized for her involvement with the NXIVM sex cult case ahead of her sentencing on Wednesday.

-Is NBC going to have any shows left? They’ve canceled Good Girls.

-I still feel like I have PSTD from Chris Carter during my X-Files fandom phase, but this is a very good piece from him in the NYT about UFOs.

-Kevin Can F**k Himself is much darker than I was expecting, but I really like it. This is a good piece on how it toggles between a sitcom and a dark drama.

-There are lots of reports that Olly Alexander is close to being unveiled as Jodie Whittaker’s replacement on Doctor Who. (He denies it.)

-I loved loved loved Starstruck on HBO Max/Crave. It’s a six-episode romcom about a normal girl who falls for a movie star and it’s soooo damn charming.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins tells the origin story of the mysterious commando from the G.I Joe series. It stars Henry Golding.

-If you ever wanted to see Mark Wahlberg sing Lady Gaga, the Joe Bell trailer is for you.

-A hearing girl with deaf parents tries to become a singer in the trailer for Coda, which was a big hit at Sundance.

Colton Underwood Comes Out

-Devoutly religious former Bachelor star Colton Underwood sat down for a Good Morning America interview to reveal some big news: “I’m gay. And I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it… I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been in my life.” He’s recently been the subject of public controversy because of a restraining order filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Randolph from the series.

-And surprise, surprise — his major announcement/image rehabilitation is already working. There are reports that he’s landed his own Netflix reality show, with Olympian Gus Kenworthy acting “gay guide.”

Tom Cruise reportedly wants to do a full, global press tour for Top Gun: Maverick. Pandemic? What pandemic?

Kyra Sedgwick told Drew Barrymore about going to Tom Cruise’s house once and accidentally causing a scene. “There was this like fireplace mantle and I was looking around and there was this little button underneath the mantle. I was like, ‘Oh what is that little button?’ So I pressed the little button because I thought maybe something interesting will happen. Nothing happened and then I got a little nervous. I was like, ‘Oh nothing happened that doesn’t seem right.’ So I tapped Tom on the shoulder, who was in the middle of a story, and I said, ‘I pressed this button down here.’ And he was like, ‘You pressed that button?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I pressed that button.’ And he goes, ‘That’s the panic button.’ And so the cops came, they had to stop the screening, they had to see Tom. I think there were more than like five cop cars, it was something…I didn’t get invited back.”

-White Boy Summer is getting off to a rocky start: Chet Hanks‘s ex filed an assault lawsuit against him.

Taylor Swift confirmed to Stephen Colbert that her song “Hey Stephen” isn’t about him. “No, Stephen, I first recorded that song in 2008. I think I was like 18. And you were 44 years old,” she said, adding: “I’m a big fan.”

-Meanwhile, Taylor released a video for her live performance of “Exile” with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon from the Long Pond Sessions. God, I love that song.

-Meanwhile, Justin Vernon previewed a new song on his Instagram Live which features Taylor. I love that she’s just part of the Big Red Machine family now.

-There’s talk that Prince Andrew is “demanding” to wear his military uniform at Prince Philip’s funeral.

-This Is Us will only have 16 episodes this season instead of the planned 18 due to coronavirus delays. That means there’s only 3 episodes left this season.

Julianne Moore, Chloé Sevigny, Indya Moore, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Leo Reilly star in a new short film for Saint Laurent.

Regina King is having the best award season fashion-wise and I’m bummed we don’t get to see these looks on a red carpet.

-Never Have I Ever is coming back to Netflix, and Common has joined the cast.

Cardi B is calling out “blue check Republicans” who have stayed silent on Daunte Wright, who was shot and killed by a cop who mistook her gun for a taser, and Caron Nazario, an Army officer who was pepper-sprayed by police.

-I’m surprised by how much the new trailer for The Hills makes me want to watch it.
