Adele Shows Off Celine Dion’s Used Gum

–Adele took Vogue’s 73 questions challenge, and showed off her LA home, which includes her favourite possession — a piece of gum chewed by Celine Dion and framed for her by James Corden.

-The CW drama continues! Batwoman series regular Camrus Johnson weighed in on Ruby Rose’s comments — and he is definitely not taking her side. He tweeted last night, “But yea fam, she was fired. And it is VERY hard to be fired when you’re the lead. Imagine what u have to do for that 2 happen…Since it was claimed she “walked away” last year I’m sure some of you may be pretty confused or upset, and even moreso that a lot of lies were spread today. Just know we have a lot of great souls working on this show and none of this changes that.”

–Kristen Stewart says she was flattered by the social media campaign to cast her as the Joker in Robert Pattinson’s Batman film. “I love the energy behind that. It’s really been done so well. I feel like, maybe, we don’t traipse over, but I love that gusto. Let’s figure something else out. I’m totally down to play a freaky, scary person.”

-The Marvels director Nia DaCosta says only one person is to blame for The Snap in Avengers: Infinity War — Captain America. “He should have just sacrificed Vision,” she says, “He chose one robot’s life…over literally the entire universe.” I mean, she’s not wrong.

–Brian Cox thinks Succession will go on for five seasons, which sounds like the perfect length.

–Michelle and Robert King are known for making TV that captures the Zeitgeist (The Good Wife, The Good Fight, Evil). They talk to Vulture about how it’s become a high-wire act that’s gotten trickier post-Trump.

–The Weeknd covers the Sept issue of GQ and talks about his dark persona (“I am not dark. My art is dark, and I’ve gone through dark times. I’ve used those dark times as inspiration for my art. But I feel like because I’m not dark, I was able to channel it and put it into my music and into my art”), quitting drugs (“Drugs were a crutch. It was me thinking that I needed it. And not doing the work to figure out how not to need it. -This is a fascinating look at how Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson so rarely has an on-screen romance — and why big Hollywood blockbusters have begun to eschew romance plots in general. I always assumed it was a personal preference that some actors have (character actor Neal McDonough won’t kiss anyone who’s not his wife), but it also points to a larger trend towards sexless action heroes. Maybe because Hollywood has gotten criticism for writing women as one-note love interests, it’s just opted to not include them at all instead of writing fully fleshed out love interests. Which sucks.

-Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist may be rescued by Roku! The streamer is eyeing a wrap-up movie.

-The Met Gala is normally held in May but was pushed back this year. Page Six reports that those making the cut for invites include Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Emily Ratajkowski, Camila Cabello and Lupita Nyong’o.

-Is South Park still popular? Let’s hope, since its creators just signed a $900 million deal to release 14 movies.

-Jeopardy is reportedly close to picking its new full-time host — and it looks like it’ll be Mike Richards. I really thought it’d be Levar Burton, Ken Jennings or Aaron Rodgers. Richards is a producer on the show and the fact that he’s in late stage negotiations is leading a lot of people, including a contestant during his run, to think this was always in the works and the guest host appearances weren’t ever about auditioning for the gig.

–Taylor Swift is teasing a Phoebe Bridgers collab. Yes, please!

-I really like this list of the 40 best musical performances on TV. No one but Prince at the Super Bowl could be number 1, but the one that’s stuck in my brain craw remains TV on the Radio’s Letterman appearance at number 5.

–John Corbett and Bo Derek, who’ve been together for 20 years, got married last Christmas.

-I’m so confused about why Kristen Bell had a stylist for her recent road trip.

–Ryan Reynolds says wife Blake Lively often does uncredited punch ups on the scripts of his movies.

-With Free Guy getting good reviews (currently 84% fresh), THR profiles director Shawn Levy, who seems to keep his head down and do the work. He currently has 15 projects in development for Netflix.

-I mainline teen movies — the cheesier the better — but He’s All That might be a bridge to far for even me. Luckily, the trailer recaps the entire movie so I don’t even need to watch it.

Blake Lively Draws Louboutins Onto Her Feet

–Blake Lively badly photoshopping a pair of shoes onto her feet is the content I needed today. She posted “@louboutinworld are you hiring? Barefoot iPhone doodler with vast experience avail.”

-Oh goodie. Now Josh Brolin has weighed in on Chris Pratt, complaining about the “global hate hand job” everyone’s giving his costar. Why won’t they stop?

-Just in case you thought 2020 couldn’t get weirder, Daniel Kaluuya confirmed his live-action Barney movie is really happening and it will be darker than the OG TV show. “Barney taught us, ‘I love you, you love me. Won’t you say you love me too?’ That’s one of the first songs I remember, and what happens when that isn’t true?”

–Matthew McConaughey says he was sexually abused as a teenager in his new memoir Greenlights, writing “I was blackmailed into having sex for the first time when I was 15. I was certain I was going to hell for the premarital sex. Today, I am merely certain that I hope that’s not the case.” He also mentions an incident when he was “molested by a man when I was 18 while knocked unconscious in the back of a van.” Still, he remained an optimist. “I’ve never felt like a victim. I have a lot of proof that the world is conspiring to make me happy.”

–Justin Bieber says he’s not slowing down his support of Black Lives Matter. “I am a white Canadian and I will never know what it feels like to be an African American. [W]hat I do know is I am willing to stand up and use my voice to shine [a] light on racism.”

–Dominic West‘s wife has gone to Ireland on a “work trip.” Uh huh.

-I have no interest in ever watching another movie based on a video game again, but Tom Holland is sure working that henley in the first photo from Uncharted.

–Lake Bell and Scott Campbell have called it quits after 7 years of marriage.

-The 100 showrunner is now blaming his much-maligned final season on the network, saying the head of the CW told him to make the show darker. Did he also tell him to kill off beloved characters in throwaway scenes that made zero sense?

–Kristen Bell will star in and exec produce in Netflix’s The Woman in the House, a thriller series about a woman nursing a broken heart who possibly witnesses her neighbor murder someone.

–Noah Cyrus wore a sheer bodysuit (ala Britney in the “Toxic” video) to the CMTs. That went over about as well as you’d expect.

-CBS’ and Trump have been in a pissing contest all day that includes a lot of early clip releases from his 60 Minutes interview that’s airing Sunday.

-The more we hear about the Synder cut, the more it’s clear that this thing never actually existed.

-Wait, so Netflix has reportedly renewed Steve Carell’s Space Force but keeps cancelling shows people actually like? WTF?

-The trailer for the Netflix film The Prom has dropped, starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Kerry Washington, and James Corden. How many times am I going to get sucked into watching a Ryan Murphy joint and instantly regret it? At least one more, apparently.
