Cranberries’ Dolores O’Riordan Dead at 46

-Well, this is terrible: Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan has died at 46. As of now, her death is being treated as ‘unexplained.’

-This weekend, Buffy’s Elisha Dushku wrote a Facebook post alleging that the head stuntman on True Lies molested her when she was just 12. Her mother and on-set legal guardian corroborated her claims (which he denies). Jamie Lee Curtis, who played her mother in the film, says the actress told her about it “a few years ago.

-The story about Aziz Anzari’s bad date caused some major debate this weekend. I’m not really sure where it fits into the #TimesUp movement, but whether you think it was assault or not, one thing has been made very clear: we need to teach boys what consent looks like. I feel like ever since the Cat Person story went viral a few weeks ago, consent has been a big topic in every discussion I have with female friends and most women I know seems to have a story about following “the path of least resistance” to get out of this kind of situation. For eloquent threads on this topic, see here, here, here and here. When it comes to Aziz, the thing that rankles most for me is that he MADE A CAREER out of dating advice. He wrote a book about it and sold out Madison Square Gardens on his speaking tour. The other concern I have is that in conversations about who’s next, his name has come up a lot in recent weeks. If something more substantial breaks, I worry that there’s now going to be an immediate reaction of “oh, women are just out to get him/piling on now.”

Aziz has issued a statement, saying after the incident “I took her words to heart.”

Liam Neeson called the Hollywood sexual harassment movement “a bit of a witch hunt.” Byeeeeee!

Leah Remini is pointing to Scientology as a potential instigator for the Paul Haggis allegations.

-It turns out that public shaming still works. Mark Wahlberg finally announced that he’s donating his $1.5 million to Time’s Up; WME is donating an additional $500K.  Michelle Williams released a perfect statement that kept the spotlight off her and on the cause.

Katy Perry overcame her hatred of Medieval Times this weekend. (Who hates Medieval Times? It’s literally one of my favourite places on earth. I’m always having to piggyback on my friends with kids’ outings, cause apparently going by yourself as an adult is “creepy.” Pfffftttt.)

-The hottest comic con photo opp pose to do with stars is currently the distracted boyfriend meme, and I couldn’t be happier. Here’s the casts of Arrow and Avengers taking a crack at it. (Also, did you know that people ship Bucky and Steve? And their ship name is Stucky? I just learned this and it makes me irrationally happy.)

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin: still a thing. I can’t imagine a more boring couple. Can their ship name just be Beige?

-Hulu is now streaming ER (which weirdly has never been on a streaming site before). Now if someone could add Felicity and Sports Night, I’d be in heaven.

-Seriously guys, the Proud Mary rollout is insane. There is some conspiracy-level stuff going on.

-I don’t need another CW superhero show in my life, but I guess I’m getting one because the reviews for Black Lighting are great.

-Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist addressed the Andrew Kreisberg firing at the TCA, calling his alleged misconduct “a major disappointment.”

-Groupon getting Tiffany Haddish to be in their Super Bowl commercial makes so much sense. She’s basically been giving them free advertising on her talk show circuit.

Jon Hamm negotiates a dangerous trade in the war-torn Middle East in the Beirut trailer.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik Make Waves on Vogue

gigi-zayn-vogue-cover-2017

-Vogue did a cover about gender fluidity, though I don’t think hetero couple Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik talking about swapping clothes is probably the right way to do it.

-How the hell is Blake Lively in talks for a spy franchise? The fact that she continues to get movie work while Leighton Meester doesn’t is insane.

Gwyenth Paltrow‘s GOOP is defending its health advice and doctors with a series of posts revisiting its most controversial topics and “offering our contributing M.D.’s a chance to articulate theirs, in a respectful and substantive manner.” First up: those jade eggs you’re supposed to stick in your vagina. (Spoiler: the doc gets very defensive.)

Donnie Wahlberg left a $2,000 tip at a Waffle House, proving his still the best Wahlberg.

Arcade Fire has a new song out called “Electric Blue.”

-Thousands of confidential documents were released in Walking Dead creator Frank Darabont‘s lawsuit against AMC, and while everyone is focused on his obscene emails (which are definite worth a read), it’s the financial info and behind-the-scenes scoop that has me intrigued. After Darabont moved the second season to one set location — a farmhouse — to accommodate the network’s insane budget cuts, AMC executives demanded to see ALL of the season’s scripts up front before shooting. No show has those ready. I was also shocked by the bonuses for Emmy and Golden Globe awards ($25,000 for each nomination, $50,000 for each win).

-Speaking of Emmys, the nominations came out this morning and they felt like a big step backwards compared to last year. The biggest oversight is the lack of love for The Leftovers, which blew away everything else on TV this season. Carrie Coon didn’t even get a nod (though she did for Fargo, which no one is even talking about anymore). Others feeling the lack of love: The Americans, Insecure, Justin Theroux, Rami Malek (who won last year), The Good Place. And who the hell is still voting for House of Cards?! There were some nice surprises though, including noms for Pamela Aldon, Aziz Anzari, Donald Glover, Milo Ventimiglia, Atlanta, Kimmy Schmidt, Stranger Things, and This is Us.

-At least Twitter’s reactions to the Emmys snub of The Leftovers are hilarious.

-Atlanta’s Brian Tyree Henry and his BFF, This Is Us’ Sterling K. Brown, called each other and “screamed a little bit” after getting their Emmy noms this morning.

Ezra Miller‘s The Flash teams up with Batman and Wonder Woman in a new Justice League photo.

-Wonder Woman is holding better than any superhero movie in 15 years.

John Oliver told Stephen Colbert that he now wishes he hadn’t made his “Stupid Watergate” joke. “We are turbo-f***ed.”

Brie Larson tries to survive her unconventional parents, played by Naomi Watts and Woody Harrelson, in The Glass Castle trailer.

JLo Talks Breakups, Girlfriends in Marie Claire

-I’m coveting the shade of red lipstick Jennifer Lopez is wearing on the cover of Marie Claire UK.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were spotted holding hands, and whoever is manning People’s Twitter feed is very excited about it.

Sandra Bullock and her boyfriend also dared to hold hands in public. What’s this world coming to?!

-I feel like we’ve seen this dress on Angelina Jolie before, no?  Her movie isn’t getting rave reviews…yet.

Michael Fassbender says his horse on the Jane Eyre set got an erection every time he tried to mount it. Understandable.

Justin Bieber says his relationship with his mom is “pretty nonexisting.” Just like his grasp of the English language.

Donald Trump is bragging that he got veto power on any SNL skit he deemed too “risque.” Yeah, I think that’s called being an SNL host.

-A new clip from Brooklyn has arrived. God, I love this movie.

-This lawsuit between Sean Penn and Lee Daniels just gets curiouser and curiouser.

-Wow. I can’t remember a TV show that’s gotten such unanimously positive reviews like Aziz Anzari‘s Master of None. It’s now on Netflix, so knock yourself out.

Mandy Moore is dating the guy from Dawes? Good on her!

-Is it just me, or has Robert De Niro turned into a grumpy old man overnight?

Adele says her management took away her tweeting privileges because she drunk-tweeted too much. In other news, I really need management.

-Let’s all listen to the new Coldplay song and wonder if Chris Martin is singing about Jennifer Lawrence.

Bryan Cranston and Stephen Colbert pondered life’s big questions last night.

-A new international Star Wars trailer has arrived, and it’s so much better than the first one.
