Zendaya Spins a Web at Spider-Man Premiere

Zendaya’s look at the big Hollywood premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home was total perfection.

-Despite the tangled web of a plot that sees Peter Parker delve into the confusing multiverse, Spider-Man: No Way Home seems to have won over critics.

-The predictions for the box office seem insane, considering that the new variant will likely keep some people home this weekend. Industry experts are predicting a $150 million debut.

Ben Affleck told Howard Stern that he began to drink more as his marriage to Jennifer Garner unraveled. “That was part of why I started drinking alcohol — I was trapped. I was like, ‘I can’t leave because of my kids, but I am not happy. What do I do?’ What I did was drink a bottle of scotch on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution…I probably still would’ve been drinking [if I stayed].” God, I hope his kids don’t ever read that…

Kim Kardashian wants to speed up her divorce from Kanye West. In new court filings, she said, “I have been attempting to settle our dissolution with [West] since I filed for divorce in February 2021. I have requested several times that [he] agree to bifurcate and terminate our marital status. [He] has not responded to my request.”

-Meanwhile, a source tells People that Kanye West “isn’t giving up without a fight.”

Keanu Reeves talked to Stephen Colbert about the origins of the Sad Keanu meme. “I’m just eating a sandwich! I was thinking… I had some stuff going on. I was hungry.”

-General Hospital’s Ingo Rademacher is suing ABC for firing him over his refusal to get vaccinated. “My body is endowed by my creator with natural processes to protect me.”

Billie Eilish says she got covid a few months ago. “I want it to be clear that it is because of the vaccine I’m fine. I think if I weren’t vaccinated, I would have, like, died, because it was bad. When I say it was bad, I more just mean that it felt horrible…I still have side effects. I was sick for, like, two months almost. This was in August, a couple months ago.”

Dakota Johnson explained her Architectural Digest video that featured a big bowl of limes on her kitchen counter despite her saying she’s allergic to them. “You know, they have somebody who is super talented come in and make your house look amazing. So they put this big bowl of limes, which I [first] saw while we were filming. And it was funny. So I talked about it because who has a bowl of only limes?”

Avril Lavigne is turning “Sk8er Boi” into a film. I’d watch it.

Patti Harrison, Simon Rex, and Taylour Paige just became first-time Spirit Awards nominees. I’ve seen two of those performances (Harrison in Together Together and Rex in Red Rocket), and both are worthy of recognition.

Flavor Flav was nearly killed by a boulder while driving.

-Vulture interviewed a doctor about all the things that went wrong on And Just Like That.

J. Smith-Cameron was asked about Succession costar Jeremy Strong‘s now infamous profile, and her response was perfect. “I didn’t feel the New Yorker piece was an attack on him. I don’t know whether that’s me just being a little insensitive. I felt like it was trying to be very objective about what seemed like very extreme practices. I thought Jessica Chastain and Aaron Sorkin coming to his defense was wonderful, but I didn’t think it was really necessary because I didn’t think he was exactly maligned. It’s not a puff piece, certainly. It’s Jeremy saying in his own words what his values are and what his process is.”

-A judge upheld assault charges against Tory Lanez for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

-Someone created a trailer for Tick Tick Boom with the Muppets and it’s so perfect.

-This is an excellent interview with Kathleen Turner. I especially like her take on method acting and how she doesn’t include it in the acting class she’s teaching at NYU. “My course is called ‘Practical Acting: Shut Up and Do It’…All that ‘call me by my character name’ stuff? Fuck it. Isn’t the idea that we’re supposed to find our own unique voice? How can you achieve that by forcibly imitating anyone else? I’ve never understood that. Your job, through school and throughout your life, should be to learn how *you* work best as an actor.”

-The cast for Apple+’s Afterparty is incredible. This trailer intrigues me.

-Speaking of upcoming TV series that look amazing, here’s the new trailer for HBO’s The Gilded Age.

-Holyyyy sheetttttt, this trailer for Everything Everywhere All At Once starring Michelle Yeoh is everything.

Paul Rudd is the Sexiest Man Alive

Paul Rudd on People's Sexiest Man Alive cover

Paul Rudd was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive. What a swerve! His accompanying video was predictably charming. “It’s going to change a lot [about my life]. I’m hoping to get invited to some of these sexy dinners with Clooney and Pitt and B. Jordan. I figure I’ll probably be on a lot more yachts. I’m exciting to expand my yachting life. And I’ll probably try to get better at brooding, like with really soft light.”

-Meanwhile, the fact that Page Six’s scoop about Chris Evans turned out to be not a scoop at all is delicious. And look, Evans is fine, but Rudd is a much more interesting choice, no?

Shailene Woodley made it very clear that the paps misidentified a random man as Aaron Rodgers and seriously, this feels like the least of her problems right now.

Benedict Cumberbatch got nicotine poisoning three times while filming The Power Of The Dog. I didn’t even know that’s a thing.

Jack Black did a Bowie cover with a bunch of cute kids to celebrate the “original school of rock”.

-Lawyers for Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed are claiming she was framed. “We are convinced that this was sabotage and Hannah is being framed. We believe that the scene was tampered with as well before the police arrived.

-Speaking of fast food partnerships, Justin Bieber is working with Tim’s.

-I really like Avril Lavigne’s new song “Bite Me.” It’s a pop punk throwback.

John Cleese has cancelled a scheduled talk at Cambridge University over “woke rules“. Charming.

-The new trailer for Being the Ricardos no longer hides Nicole Kidman — but maybe it should?

Britney Spears Demands Her Life Back: “I’m So Angry, It’s Insane”

-After years of silence, Britney Spears testified remotely today about her conservatorship for the first time in open court, and she came out with guns blazing. She said “After I’ve told the whole world I’m okay, it’s a lie. I’m not happy, I can’t sleep, I’m depressed, I cry every day” and “The people who did this to me should not be able to get away and walk away easily.” She also said she did her last tour “out of fear,” compared her father to a sex trafficker: (“He loved the control he had over me, one hundred thousand percent”) and said she wants another baby but isn’t allowed to (“I have an IUD in my body right now that won’t let me have a baby and my conservators won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out”).

Mariah Carey tweeted out her support to Spears.

-Speaking of female celebs who were treated badly in the 00s, Mischa Barton thinks it’s time she gets her own docuseries.

Drake Bell pleaded guilty to child endangerment charges relating to a girl who was 15-years-old at the time of allegations.

Harrison Ford injured his shoulder while rehearsing a fight scene for Indiana Jones 5. The film schedule will be reconfigured in the coming weeks to shoot around him.

Stephen Amell was removed from his flight after an altercation with wife (though he insists he wasn’t forced off, tweeting “My wife and I got into an argument Monday afternoon on a Delta flight from Austin to LA. I was asked to lower my voice and I did. Approximately 10 minutes later I was asked to leave the flight. And I did so immediately. I was not forcibly removed”). He then followed up with a tweet that did not include an apology or contrition, but instead said “Must be a slow news cycle.” I followed this guy’s socials for years until last year’s tone deaf BLM video, and I’d grown increasingly worried that he needed help. (It also sucks to see a bunch of his fans blaming his wife and friends for being a bad influence. The dude is 40; his actions are on him.)

-Speaking of his friends, his close buddy Aisha Tyler (who hosted his ATX panel last weekend and was possibly on the plane with him when everything went down) unfollowed him and posted an Instagram graphic that says “Don’t Be a Dick.”

-Meanwhile, if you’ve gotten kicked off a plane for being belligerent and drunk, maybe cancel your pre-scheduled post about booze?

-Did Bennifer swap exes? JLo’s ex Alex Rodriguez was spotted hanging out with Ben Affeck‘s ex, Lindsay Shookus.

Justin and Hailey Bieber met French President Emmanuel Macron, and Hailey’s outfit raised eyebrows.

Michael B. Jordan addressed criticism of his new rum brand’s name,  J’Ouvert, after Nicki Minaj and others called for him to change it.

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have reportedly broken up.

Billie Eilish has apologized after an old video of her surfaced using a racial slur.

-This deep dive into the reboot of Gossip Girl is a great read. “Too many actors came in wanting to play a version of Blair or Serena. Many auditioned in headbands.”

-NBC’s just-canceled Manifest recently premiered on Netflix and quickly claimed the top spot on their “Top 10″ list — but Netflix has declined to save it.

-After Warner Bros’ weird promo strategy of only releasing tiny clips of James Gunn’s Suicide Squad as a pre-roll ads for Youtube videos, the full trailer is finally here.
