Cardi B Is Woman of the Year

Cardi-B billboard woman of the year

Cardi B is Billboard’s Woman of the Year — and what a year it was. In the interview she says, “I’m not gonna front — this has been a bad year due to work. You can’t do shows and you gotta wait on deals. But I’m really happy because I have spent so much time with my family. I feel like I haven’t laughed like I have in 2020. My daughter is so funny, and I’m with her every single day. That’s what brings me happiness.”

-Wow wow wow – the news that Warner Bros will stream ALL their 2021 movies on HBO Max on the same day as their theatrical debut is a huge, seismic shift for the movie industry. There’s lots of debate about whether this marks the death toll for movie theatres or if this was just because HBO Max needed Warner Bros’ entire slate to save it (I can’t wait to read tomorrow’s think pieces!) but either way, even after we get a vaccine and life returns to normal, it’s going to be hard to put the toothpaste back in the tube.

-Meanwhile, Canada will still get all those movies as theatrical releases. They’ll eventually come to Crave someday, maybe.

That is an insane and bad thing to do. And to me, like Twitter and everything just feels like an extension of that. Unless I want to go just read all nice things about myself, which also feels like another unhealthy thing to do.”

Gillian-Anderson-Margaret-Thatcher-The-Crown

Gillian Anderson is on the December cover of Harper’s Bazaar, in which she talks about putting her personal politics aside to play Margaret Thatcher in the new season of The Crown. “I had to get to a point where it’s nothing to do with my opinions of her policies, of her actions. It is only about her as a human being and her motivation as a politician and as a mother.”

Aubrey Plaza Ignored Chris Pratt’s Advice

-While I hate the granny panty/diaper they put her in on the cover, Aubrey Plaza looks adorable in the inner pages of Cosmo. (This REDValentino dress is my fave.) In the interview, she talks about advice she got from her Parks and Rec costars (“Chris Pratt used to tell me when he would give me advice: ‘The separation is in the preparation.’ He’s one of those people who’s always very prepared. I was kind of the opposite. Clearly, it worked out for him”), and creating her own projects (“I’m so used to relying on this patriarchal idea of waiting around for someone to say, ‘You’—some brilliant man. I still have that voice inside my head that wants that. But it’s like, I’m 34. I can do it myself…I’m sick of doing other people’s shit. I want to do my own shit”).
