Megan Thee Stallion for Marie Claire

Megan Thee Stallion is Marie Claire’s latest cover star.

-I can’t imagine how annoying it is to be famous and have people hassle you when you’re out at a bar. On the other hand, I can’t imagine responding to said people by choking them. Ezra Miller is in hot water after video surfaced this weekend of him appearing to choke a female fan. This is not the type of scandal you want to get caught in when your character is gearing up to headline their own DC superhero movie.

Louis C.K. downplays his sexual misconduct in his controversial new special. One of his new gems: “Men are taught to make sure the woman is okay. The thing is, women know how to seem okay when they’re not okay.” Oh yes, it’s clearly women’s fault for not spelling out how they felt about you masturbating in front of them without their consent.

Channing Tatum and Jessie J‘s recent reunion reportedly didn’t stick.

John Krasinski surprised a young Hamilton fan by hosting a Hamilton reunion on his web show and it was *wonderful*.

-Also wonderful, Mandy Moore hosted an IG Live and sang the iconic “Only Hope” from A Walk To Remember.

-Speaking of celebs having fun on IG Live, Reese Witherspoon hosted an IG Live and interviewed Offset and Jennifer Lopez.

Jennifer Ehle’s readings of Pride and Prejudice are all available on YouTube.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge has made the stage version of Fleabag available for streaming in order to benefit coronavirus-related charities. It’ll hit Amazon Prime on Friday and be available for two weeks.

-In other fun, at-home entertainment news, CBC has partnered with Hot Docs to launch a festival-at-home experience for audiences across Canada. This fest is one of the country’s best; if you like documentaries, it’s a treat.

-Speaking of TV events, Lady Gaga will curate the historic global broadcast special, which will feature exclusive appearances by Alanis Morissette, Billie Eilish, Chris Martin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves and more.  Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert will host the event, which broadcasts live across ABC, CBS and NBC, as well as being streamed online, on April 18. It’s not a telethon or fundraiser; it’s just meant to entertain and convey messages of solidarity.

-Speaking of Lady Gaga, in a WHO press conference, she said she had helped to raise $35M for Global Citizen in the past week.

-Meanwhile, Elton John is donating $1 million to help people with HIV and AIDS during the coronavirus pandemic.

-The cast of Schitt’s Creek has been doing nightly IG Lives to support foodbanks, and Annie Murphy killed it by teaching the choreography to “Little Bit Alexis.”

-Reality star/noted anti-vaxxer Kristin Cavallari and her family and hairdresser keep posting about how they’re “stuck” in the Bahamas — even though they had plenty of warnings to leave.

Pink talked about her “rollercoaster” experience with coronavirus and says she and her three-year-old son are both recovering.

This thread reminding everyone about what really went down with Paris Hilton/Lindsay Lohan/Britney Spears in the mid-aughts is worth your time.

Keira Knightley‘s new movie is heading online early.

-Who knows when we’ll actually get to see the new Top Gun movie (December, allegedly) but they’re still releasing featurettes about it. It’s going to be so wild when summer blockbusters hit during the time usually reserved for prestige Oscar bait.

Rihanna Covers British Vogue

Rihanna British Vogue

Rihanna on British Vogue is what the world needs right now. In the interview, she promises that she is “very aggressively working on new music,” says she gets anxiety before public appearances (“Oh, I’m nervous before even getting in the car to go to something. It can be devastating. And when I pull up to the red carpet, I’m like ‘Are you kidding me?’ I left the Grammys one time. Left! In the middle of my hair and make-up. My hair half up, half of my lash on”), and reveals she’s very involved in Fenty Beauty (“I write all of the copy for the websites, the product descriptions, product names, the colour names. I do have a huge team, but I just don’t necessarily think their tone is mine. I’d feel like a fraud selling something that I can’t stand by”).

-This is making so many people so happy right now: Christopher Meloni is bringing his Law & Order: SVU character back to television. The actor will return as Elliot Stabler in a new, yet untitled NBC series centered around his character that hails from L&O mastermind Dick Wolf.

-The best thing about all the late night hosts doing at-home shows is that now we can judge all of their houses.

-I don’t know why I’m surprised that Gwyneth Paltrow watched Tiger King, but here I am.

Daniel Radcliffe and Erin Darke talk about being the first celebrities to get hit with a coronavirus hoax. They seems super sweet together.

-Speaking of sweet, The Star Trek: TNG cast had a video chat to celebrate Marina Sirtis’s birthday.

-Veronica Mars’ Ryan Hansen posted a video of him singing happy birthday for costar Jason Dohring. The best bit: “Feel free to comment below about how much you love Jason, happy birthday, all that stuff. If it’s about the show, email me. We can talk about it there. wedidnotwriteit@actor.com.” Man, that poor cast must have been bombarded with complaints after the final episode.

-I like this piece on how entertainment publicists are handling PR in the middle of a global crisis.

Aisha Tyler just released a trailer for a comedy short she did with Stephen Amell.

-The kid who plays Mike on Stranger Things is stirring up gossip and I love it.

Lindsay Lohan has declared she’s “back.” From what is unclear but…yay?

-I don’t know how the NYT is standing by its gushing article of the Internet Archive. Yes, it’s made more than a million books available free online. But it’s doing so by breaking copyright and not paying the authors. NPR also wrote a glowing article on it last week, which they ended up stepping back from after authors called out the site for piracy.

-I definitely agree with this take on how Annie Murphy will be Schitt’s Creek’s greatest legacy. The premise of her next show sounds great so I’m hoping for big things for her.

Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys reading a children’s book is all kinds of cute.

-Here’s the trailer for Jennifer Lopez’s charitable new reality series on Quibi Thanks A Million, in which 10 celebs each give away $100k to deserving recipients.

-The one (only?) good thing about being stuck in our houses is that there are lots of new shows premiering in April with big stars, including Chris Evans, Cate Blanchett, Sophie Turner, Rashida Jones and Liam Hemsworth.

-Also premiering in April is Normal People, based on the Sally Rooney book that everyone seemed to fall in love with in 2018. Here’s the trailer:

Lana Condor Teaches Ali Wong About the Art of Pizza Dough

lana condor ali wong interview
Alexis Hunley/Interview

Ali Wong interviews Lana Condor for Interview and it’s great. They talk about making a conscious decision to keep their families off their social media, the joys of learning how to cook, and their career goals (Condor: “I want to play Sandra Oh’s daughter more than anything in this world. I would work with her in any capacity.”)

Harvey Weinstein is now a convicted rapist. In his New York trial today, he was found guilty of sexual assault and third-degree rape. He faces a maximum of 25 years in prison on the charge of sexually assaulting Miriam Haley at his Soho apartment in 2006. (He was acquitted of the two more serious counts of predatory sexual assault involving actress Annabella Sciorra.) He’ll be sentenced on March 11 — and he still faces 4 more charges in LA.

-His lawyer Donna Rotunno says of the verdict: “He took it like a man.” Always a charmer, that one.

Vanessa Bryant delivered a heartbreaking tribute to husband Kobe and daughter Gianna at their Celebration of Life ceremony today: “God knew they couldn’t be on this earth without each other. He had to bring them home to heaven together.”

-Here’s Beyonce’s opening performance from the celebration, Christina Aguilera singing “Ave Maria” and Jimmy Kimmel’s incredibly emotional speech.

Zendaya and Jacob Elordi traveled to Australia together again. They were photographed arriving in Sydney.

Jason Lei Howden, the director of Guns Akimbo starring Daniel Radcliffe, just did his best to torpedo his own movie weeks before its release by falsely accusing two black female movie critics of online bullying. The fact that he was allowed to send multiple tweets about it not only from his own account but from the movie’s official handle without the studio immediately shutting it down is puzzling.  His subsequent non-apology was predictably terrible.

-The way Rihanna says “Tell your friends to pull up” at the 2:40 mark of her NAACP speech gives me chills.

Gigi Hadid owned YouTuber Jake Paul so hard this weekend. It was glorious.

-The TV adaptation of Love, Simon is moving from Disney+ to Hulu, reportedly because “Disney thought the half-hour comedy featured more adult themes than it was comfortable featuring on family-focused Disney+”. I don’t really get how it’s not wholesome enough for a streamer that also has Runaways and 10 Things I Hate About You.

Chris Evans is in talks to star in Greg Berlanti’s Little Shop of Horrors. I liked everything about that headline until I read further and realized its for the women-hating dentist role. No thanks.

-Schitt’s Creek star Annie Murphy just landed the lead in a new dark comedy from AMC.

-I kinda love that this 2008 interview with Amy Adams about how she was once too distracted by Lee Pace‘s hotness to act is making the rounds again. It deserves to be remembered.

Lena Waithe is being accused of stealing the concept of her new anthology series Girls Room from filmmaker Nina Lee.

Mark Ruffalo says Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige almost quit over the studio’s lack of diversity and representation. “When we did the first Avengers, Kevin Feige told me, ‘Listen, I might not be here tomorrow.’ And he’s like, ‘Ike [Isaac Perlmutter, Disney’s largest shareholder at the time] does not believe that anyone will go to a female-starring superhero movie. So if I am still here tomorrow, you will know that I won that battle’…Because Kevin wanted black superheroes, women superheroes, LGBT superheroes, he changed the whole Marvel universe.”

-Has anyone ever looked as happy about working out as Michelle Pfeiffer does on her Peloton?

Sarah Paulson plays a creepy mom with a secret in the first trailer for Run.
