pete davidson paper

Pete Davidson is on the cover of Paper’s break the internet issue, in a photo that pokes fun at his BDE and rumoured…uh…endowments.

RuPaul is on the cover of Vanity Fair, where he says “true drag really will never be mainstream. Because true drag has to do with seeing that this world is an illusion and that everything that you say you are and everything it says that you are on your driver’s licence, it’s all an illusion. Most people will never in their lives understand what that is. Because they don’t have the operating system to understand that duality.” Fair.

Amy Schumer posted a photo of her hanging out with Jennifer Lawrence and Phoebe Waller-Bridge and I’m incandescently jealous.

Emma Thompson fielded questions from children, who asked her who was her best onscreen kiss (“Meryl Streep’s a very good snogger. I had to snog her in Angels in America and she was method about it”) and what they should spend their pocket money on (“peppermint creams”).

gwyneth-paltrow-instyle

Gwyneth Paltrow delivered a late Christmas gift with her new InStyle cover story, in which she congratulates herself for being a lifestyle guru trailblazer, boosts about how Chris Martin would still take a bullet for her, and pats herself on the back for introducing the world to “conscious uncoupling” because “I honestly think Chris and I have contributed something positive to the culture of divorce.” Amazing levels of goopy goodness to close out the year!

Amanda Palmer gushing about how Donald Trump is “going to make punk rock great again” is so gross.  I hate this take that the world being awful is somehow going to be a boon for pop culture. Art is not more important than the people who make it. Not to mention that the people who romanticize the struggle are rarely the ones stuck with the most struggling.

-Sometimes Ariana Grande says something that makes me like her so much… and I feel so confused by it.

-In her new Shape cover story, Kate Beckinsale says she’s never actually finished an alcoholic drink in her life. Sigh. Fine, Kate. I guess I’ll just continue drinking enough for the both of us.

-Here’s the first trailer for I Am Michael, which stars James Franco as a gay rights activist who became a fundamentalist pastor.

Justin Bieber Makes Bodyguards’ Life Hell

Justin Bieber is getting mocked for having his bodyguards carry him up the Great Wall of China — and then posing for a photo with said bodyguards while pretending to be exhausted from the climb. His bodyguards also had to sprint behind him while he skateboarded, so they’re clearly loving life right now.

David Bowie is way better at reading than you.

-In terms of how to handle the paparazzi, I think that Rihanna is at the top of the celebrity heap (mostly because she’s become her own paparazzi, sharing so much, so publicly and so often that it drives down agency demand). But because of that, it’s hard to hear her bitch about wanting privacy.

Amy Poehler looks amazing on the cover of Variety, where she talks about her charity work with Worldwide Orphans Foundation.
