Megan Fox Stars in Machine Gun Kelly’s Video

Megan Fox ramps up rumours that she’s dating Machine Gun Kelly by cozying up to him in his new music video.

Zack Snyder will release his cut of Justice League on HBO Max — but not until next year. The news also confirms that the Snyder cut didn’t actually exist; they’re going to have to spend $20+ million on post-production. Which is HILARIOUS.

-The Ruby Rose/Batwoman saga continues to unfold. A source tells TV Line her quitting the show “wasn’t 100-percent her decision. It was a breakup. She wasn’t happy working on the show, and did that make her fun to work with? No. So everyone decided it would be in the best interests of the show, and for all concerned, if they parted ways. It just wasn’t a good fit.” Rob Salem, who used to be the TV critic for the Toronto Star, has an even more pointed take, tweeting: “Apparently, she was actually fired. Rumor has it she was generally loathed on set. “Sociopathic narcissist” was the phrase being bandied about. They put a happy face on it, but from what I hear, nobody will be sorry to see her go.”

-Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz is already publicly petitioning for the role. Even though she’s played another character in the Arrowverse, I’d love for Bex Taylor-Klaus to have a shot.

-Meanwhile, The Flash cast did a Stars In the House Zoom reunion for charity last night, which is lovely but they did it at 8pm ET — their old timeslot and at the exact same time Stargirl was debuting on their network. The CW is filled with messiness, y’all.

-The Smash cast will reunite tonight to perform Bombshell in concert. The more that these cast reunions for charity take place every day, the more untenable the upcoming Friends reunion seems. Getting paid $3 million each to do what casts are now doing all the time for free to support good causes is an increasingly bad look.

Ryan Seacrest has blamed exhaustion and returned to work after this clip made people think he was having a stroke during American Idol.

-Amazing human being Sia confirmed she adopted two teenage sons who were aging out of foster care system.

Lorde says she’s been recording new music with Jack Antonoff and “the work is so fucking good, my friend.”

-This thread about the types of songs in Disney animated movies is kind of incredible.

-British Vogue got Kate Moss to demonstrate cooking a roast chicken (clearly shot pre-pandemic). Her comment at the end slays: “What happened to just being able to do a cover and not having to do any of this?”

-The world does not deserve Taika Waititi.

-I love this article on how it would be awesome if Brad Pitt and Alia Shawkat are actually dating: “Yes, Shawkat is young and beautiful, but she isn’t exactly the type of woman we’ve come to expect in the arms of aging actors in the midst of their midlife crises. She’s in her 30s; she’s Iraqi American; she’s not tall or ultra-skinny or blonde; she’s queer; she’s cool.”

-Spotify has fought against paying musicians what they deserve for years, but they ponied up $100 million for an exclusivity deal for Joe Rogan‘s podcast.

Alison Roman is “on temporary leave” as a food columnist for the New York Times after she made judgmental comments about fellow lifestyle influencers Chrissy Teigen and Marie Kondo. Teigen is not happy with the news, saying “it just sucks in every way.”

Julia Roberts, Hugh Jackman, and more celebs are handing over their social profiles to COVID-19 experts, which I love.

-This is a really extensive, interesting look at the costly efforts to restart film and TV production, including safety precautions, scheduling delays, extra VFX, and much more. Not only are the sky-high costs going to get higher, expect to see fewer location shoots, less guest stars and less crowd scenes with background extras. Zoe Kravitz also raises a good point about how COVID-19 will affect hair, makeup and wardrobe processes on a big film like Batman: “You have people just touching your face, touching your body all day long. I need help getting into the catsuit. I can’t do it on my own. I was probably touched more than any job, just because of the clothes and the combat and all of that.”

Clay is struggling to keep it together in the trailer for the final season of 13 Reasons Why.

Issa Rae Covers Cosmo

issa raeIra wrote the cover story on Issa Rae for Cosmo. Love them both!

Kate Beckinsale is on the cover of Women’s Health, in which she talks about people’s perception of her. “It can feel like a little bit of a political act to be a woman over 32 who’s having any fun at all. And by that, I don’t mean doing drugs and drinking and partying, because I never am, but being goofy, and going out, and not going, ‘Oh my god, I’m going to sit home and anticipate menopause while crocheting.’ ”

-Also, she doesn’t love it when Instagram followers comment on her smoking.

-The more people talk about Brad Pitt and Alia Shawkat‘s “incredibly tight bond,” the more it bugs me that there’s no dating rumours about them. I have no idea what’s going on with them, but if any other actress was repeatedly spotted spending time with him during social distancing, the tabloids would have them engaged by now. But because she doesn’t look like what we expect his girlfriend to look like, every article emphasizes how they’re “just friends.”

-Before social distancing started, Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Adam Scott, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow filmed a Red Nose Day segment in which they attempt to get out of Jack Black’s Escape Room.

-Is Dolly Parton going to save the world? The signer is funding some of the most important, most promising COVID-19 treatment research.

-Any Taffy Brodesser-Akner profile goes to the top of my TBR list, but this one on Val Kilmer is especially outstanding. He now tours a show where he dresses up like Mark Twain and does Christian Science-themed standup comedy.

-HBO Max has given a 10-episode series order to a single-camera comedy starring Jean Smart, from three Broad City producers. It’ll be executive produced by The Good Place creator Mike Schur. I like all of those people!

Sources say Trolls 2’s top voice stars, including Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick were not informed ahead of the announcement that the film would be arriving on-demand early. Now their reps are asking for pay.

-The creator of Black Mirror says the world is too bleak for a new season right now. Seeing as we’re all living in a episode of that show right now…yeah.

-If any actor was going to be the first to shoot a movie in space, Tom Cruise makes the most sense.

-I share a birthday with Baby Archie, which I’m not mad about. Everyone was wondering how Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would commemorate it on social media, and they did even better than I expected (considering all their recent PR flubs) by posting a cute reading video for charity.

-It’s also George Clooney’s birthday. To commemorate his 59th, former ER love interest Julianna Margulies shared a bts pic of their last scene.

-Novelist Emily Giffin hates Meghan Markle so much. Girl, I read Something Borrowed. Sit down.

-Vulture’s costar reunions continue with Happy Endings’ Eliza Coupe and Elisha Cuthbert. I love that Cuthbert is wearing an East Coast Lifestyle had like a good Canadian.

-I’m not sure how I feel about Adele’s drastic transformation. I hope she’s healthy and happy, but she looks like everyone else in Hollywood now. (Specifically, Sarah Paulson.)

-Also, with Adele trending it surfaced this amazing video of her meeting some of her impersonators.

Cardi B Talks Farts and Family with Vogue

Cardi B did 73 Questions with Vogue, and she really takes you on a journey. Culture somehow manages to stay sleeping during the whole thing while her mom talks about smelling her own farts, meeting Beyonce, loving Offset‘s penis, and her questions for Trump. It’s shot at her grandmother’s apartment in NYC, which is by far the most normal-looking place that Vogue has every done one of these.

-Sources say Brad Pitt and Arrested Development star Alia Shawkat are not dating. Wait, was that even a possibility?!

Pete Davidson and Kaia Gerber were spotted kissing in public. Not enough people are talking about the fact that he is a grown ass 26 year old and she *just* turned 18.

Helena Bonham Carter is on a promo tour for the new season of The Crown, and it’s been an absolute delight. On Colbert, she spilled the tea on her co-stars including Colin Firth (“talks too much”), Rihanna (“could never understand a word she said”) and Sacha Baron Cohen (“he has emotional issues”).

-The Grammy nominations are out. It was a good morning for Lizzo, Billie Eillish, Lil Nas X and Bon Iver. Not so much for Taylor Swift, Halsey, Solange Knowles, The Jonas Brothers and BTS.

-After that sinking ship of an interviewPrince Andrew says he’s quitting public life ‘for the foreseeable future’ amid the Epstein scandal. “It has become clear to me over the last few days that…my former association with Jeffrey Epstein has become a major disruption to my family’s work.”

-Meanwhile, People decided the best royal angle for their latest cover story is the William and Harry rift. Sure, Jan.

Emilia Clarke says on the Game of Thrones set, Jason Momoa made sure directors didn’t take advantage of her during nude scenes and made sure she always had a robe between setups. “It’s only now that I realize how fortunate I was with that…because Jason had experience, he had done a bunch of stuff before coming on to this, he was like, ‘Sweetie, this is how it’s meant to be and this is how it’s not meant to be, and I’m going to make sure that’s the way it goes.”

-The Harriet screenwriter says a movie exec once suggested Julia Roberts should play Harriet Tubman. (Somewhere out there Scarlett Johansson is wondering why they didn’t think of her.)

Robert Pattinson said he would pass the time in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia shooting The Lighthouse by reading sex shop Yelp reviews. “There were two pretty highly frequented sex shops…So many people would write about it and this is a town of maybe 400 people — well, maybe a little more than 400. But I could meet these people in the local shop if I wanted to.”

-He’s fresh off the disaster that was Lucy in the Sky, but Noah Hawley someone still managed to land a deal to write and direct the next Star Trek movie.

-In the latest Actors on Actors interview, Florence Pugh and Beanie Feldstein bond over Lizzie McGuire and That’s So Raven.

-Oof. I like a lot of Mimi Leder‘s work (she exec produced The Leftovers) but her dismal of the critical reception of The Morning Show is way off. “I thought there were a lot of Apple haters who just wanted Apple to fail. The reviews felt like an attack on Apple.” That would only make sense if critics panned all Apple shows, but every TV writer I follow seems to be in love with Dickinson.

Jennifer Lopez will be hosting SNL in December (yay!), as will Scarlett Johansson (boo!).

-Um, is Harrison Ford doing a dog movie?!? (I know it’s based on Jack London’s book, but it’s still a goddamn dog movie.)
