Stylists Take the Spotlight

-I always like THR’s annual power stylists issue.  Anne Hathaway credits Erin Walsh, Andrew Garfield hypes up Warren Alfie BakerJodie Turner-Smith praises Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, and more

-This is a good piece on how Gwyneth Paltrow‘s ski case is the perfect celebrity trial. It’s both low-stakes and hilarious. “The whole thing is blissfully ridiculous. This trial exists in a privileged bubble, where grown adults can’t hash out their resort squabbles without getting litigious about it.”

-Her kids’ testimony was also perfect. Apple said the actress was “clearly visibly upset” and in pain post-crash: “I remember that’s why she went to the spa to get a massage.” Chef’s kiss.

-My favourite bit from the whole thing is that both legal teams were trying to access a MeetUp group chat that referenced the incident, but were stymied by a login page. A random dude who was watching the trial created a MeetUp login and immediately accessed the whole thread, and sent it to them.

Jeremy Renner‘s first TV interview since the snow plow accident will air next week on ABC. In a clip, he holds back tears while recounting his life-threatening accident in which he broke more than 30 bones and punctured a lung: “I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience, but I’ve been refueled and refilled with love and titanium.”

Emily Ratajkowski may be enjoying single life but her estranged hubby Sebastian Bear-McClard, who has produced the three most recent films of the Safdie brothers including Uncut Gems, has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women. One said he reached out to her via Instagram when she was 17 and offered her a small part in Good Time. On the day of filming, she says ended up naked, standing in front of nearly a dozen male cast and crew members the Safdies. She was paired with an actor who had recently been released from prison. In a statement, she said she “was utterly stunned and felt terrified…out of nowhere, [the actor] whispered in my ear if ‘he could stick it in’ while the cameras rolled.”

-After a man went viral by tweeting that Mike Myers had him fired from The Love Guru security team for looking him in the eyes, a rep for the actor says the actor was “not aware of anyone being hired or fired.” It was shot here in Toronto and I remember some crazy stories coming out of that set during filming…

-Disney has laid off Ike Perlmutter, chairman of Marvel Entertainment.

-It’s great that Vulture profiled romance writer Emily Henry, but the way they talk about her is so off. That she “cracked the modern romance novel” or is “redefined the genre” is…not true? She’s someone who is clearly very aware of the tropes and colours within the genre’s lines–she just does it exceptionally well.

-The hive is buzzing: Yellowjackets’ season opener is Showtime’s most-streamed premiere ever.

-Barry tries to find redemption in prison in the trailer for the HBO show’s final season.

-I’m pleasantly surprised by how positive the reviews for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves are. Some critics are comparing it to Game Night, which I adored.

-Also, how great was it that the hosted a Freaks & Geeks reunion to promote the movie?!?

Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks join Wes Anderson’s usual players like Jason Schwartzman, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton and Adrien Brody in the Asteroid City trailer.
