Jennifer Coolidge Appreciates SNL’s Love

-I love that Jennifer Coolidge appreciated Chloe Fineman’s impression of her on SNL. It was pretty exceptional.

-In her freewheeling new Vanity Fair interview, Kate Hudson talked about rom-coms (“Guys don’t want to be in rom-coms. They don’t. And I get it. They want to be in the superhero movie, or they want to be going for an Oscar, but they don’t really want to be in the rom-com. It makes them very hard to make”), Matthew McConaughey for President (“I’d be down. I think he’d be a great president. He cares so deeply. And he’s a great team captain. Now, politics are so backwards—I think he sits right down that middle, and I think most of America does. Matthew would speak to that brilliantly”), and the Almost Famous musical (“I have to see it. I’m excited for Cameron [Crowe]. He’s been working really hard on it. Do we know how it is? Doesn’t matter”).

-Set It Up costars Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell reunited for Interview magazine, and the results are delightful. “Were you okay seeing me kiss another guy?”

-In the actress roundtable for The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Lawrence spoke frankly about women having a reputation for being emotional — and made everyone around the table crack up. “I mean, I’ve worked with Bryan Singer! I’ve seen emotional men. The biggest hissy fits I’ve ever seen thrown on set have been – I’ve watched a man.”

Brad Pitt took rumoured new girlfriend Ines de Ramon to the Babylon premiere afterparty.

-Meanwhile, I’m so fascinated by the split reviews of this movie. Some critics love it, some really don’t.

Seth Meyers took Lizzo day drinking and it was even messier than usual.

Rihanna shared an adorable TikTok of her new son.

Alicia Keys recalled playing a show earlier this year in Vancouver and getting an unexpected kiss from a fan. “The craziest part is she’s probably watching. God bless you, sending you love. Don’t touch me again, please, but I love you.”

-This inside look at Disney’s power struggle is excellent and details a secret phone call to Bob Iger, a text Jim Cramer sent Disney’s CFO and a disastrous board meeting that sank Bob Chapek.

Justin Bieber is not thrilled with H&M right now: “The H&M merch they made of me is trash and I don’t approve it. Don’t buy it.”

-After losing DC’s Superman and Netflix’s The Witcher, Henry Cavill will star and exec produce an adaptation of the popular tabletop game Warhammer 40,000. He’s previously fanboyed about the game on his Instagram, so good for him, I guess? He’s gotten a ton of sympathy over the past week or so (though maybe not as much from those of us who remember his Me Too comments…)

-Meanwhile, Cavill and Gal Gadot’s cameos have reportedly been cut from The Flash. I’m curious about what that movie is going to actually end up like, and whether Ben Affleck‘s cameos in The Flash and Aquaman 2 will survive.

Donald Glover, who once had aspirations to play Spider-Man, will now star and produce a feature centered around Spider-Man villain Hypno-Hustler.

-Avatar: The Way of Water topped the domestic box office with an estimated $134M opening, less than expected but still good — and we’re heading into a week when everyone wants to go to the movies.

Emily Blunt told a “cute” story about how John Krasinski jokingly (I think?) criticized the outfit she wore on their first date. “He just sent me a memo going: ‘Don’t wear the jacket, and you’ll get another date’.” Maybe it’s a ‘you had to be there’ kinda situation, but yeesh.

Britney Spears’ father Jamie gave an interview to Mail on Sunday and defended the 13-year conservatorship: “For protecting her, and also protecting the kids, conservatorship was a great tool. Without it, I don’t think she would have got the kids back.” Sure, Jan.

-Also, he said that he and Kevin Federline are collaborating on a book about “fatherhood.” Who would buy that?!?!

-Ticketmaster will sell the remaining 170,000 seats for Taylor Swift’s stadium tour over the next four weeks.

-Benched GMA cohosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes were spotted together for the first time since their relationship went public.

-Titanic is celebrating its 25th anniversary. In honour of the occasion, Billy Zane answered a bunch of questions about the making of the movie.

-A new behind-the-scenes look at Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning shows Tom Cruise pulling off a stupidly crazy stunt. Does anyone really need him to be doing this stuff anymore? Anyone?

-Netflix’s Murderville just released a holiday episode with Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph. Oh yes.

-The first teaser for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie landed, and I don’t think anyone had “shot-for-shot homage to Kubrick” on their bingo card.

-Here’s the trailer for Christopher Nolan‘s Oppenheimer starring Cillian Murphy.
