Zoe Saldaña Moves on from Marvel

Zoe Saldaña covers the new issue of InStyle and talks about the limited time she had with her Guardians of the Galaxy scripts because of Marvel secrecy.  “That’s not cool, because you have to memorize, you have to prepare, you have to do research. And I tend to take myself a little too seriously sometimes…I really enjoy working with filmmakers that don’t underestimate my intelligence and know that I am an adult. I will be discreet. It is as important to me as it is for him or her that I don’t let these scripts out of my sight.”

Toni Collette and her husband of 20 years have split after photos of him kissing another woman on a beach in Australia surfaced.

-At the People’s Choice Awards, Lizzo won the People’s Champion Award and brought 16 female activists on stage to share the honour, and damn if this didn’t make me tear up.

-Stevie Nicks also loved it.

-This is awful: Celine Dion has revealed she is suffering from a rare neurological disorder that causes progressive muscle stiffness and involuntary spasms. She posted a tearful video on Instagram explaining the situation and announced she won’t be touring in February.

-The Golden Globes are a shitshow and probably shouldn’t be on the air, but choosing Jerrod Carmichael to host it is a pretty slick move.

-Amid The Hollywood Reporter’s article that Wonder Woman 3 has been scraped, James Gunn says that’s “half-true.” He tweeted of DC’s future, “So. As for the story yesterday in the Hollywood Reporter, some of it is true, some of it is half-true, some of it is not true, & some of it we haven’t decided yet whether it’s true or not.”

-It looks like Harry and Meghan’s Netflix doc is saving the good stuff for the last half, which is dropping next week.

-Wow: Reese Witherspoon and Alexander Payne are reuniting for an Election sequel.

-Stars wore some wild shit to the Emily In Paris season 3 premiere. Bless them.

-This Vogue 73 Questions with Jennifer Lopez (which was weirdly lowkey) is not actually in her house, right? (Although she might have brought the Thankful wood carved sign — we know from her recent wedding decorations that she’s a “live laugh love” decor from Home Sense kinda girl.)

-I will read any article with Jodie Turner-Smith praising Joshua Jackson. All of them.

-In today’s Actors on Actors interview, Cate Blanchett told Michelle Yeoh tidbits about her Tár character’s backstory that didn’t make it to the final cut.

-Netflix announced that season 2 of Shadow And Bone will debut in March, and also released new photos. I only want to watch the scenes with the Crows crew.

-Yikes. Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter was hit with a lawsuit alleging that he raped a 17-year-old fan on his tour bus in 2001.

Christian Bale plays a detective who enlists Edgar Allan Poe to help with a grisly case in the trailer for The Pale Blue Eye.

-In the Mafia Mamma trailer, Toni Colette flies to Rome to go to her estranged grandfather’s funeral, only to find herself inheriting a mafia crew. Monica Bellucci costars.
