Devery Jacobs’ Star is Rising

-I love that Reservations Dogs star Devery Jacobs is getting magazine covers. She’s a standout on a show filled with them, cowrote a film that appeared at this year’s TIFF, and will be in the MCU show Echo.

-Speaking of the MCU, Armor Wars, a Don Cheadle project that was initially set as a Disney+ series, will now be redeveloped as a feature film.

-This is the best headline yet about the Lizzo non-scandal. This one is also pretty perfect.

-“Six season and a movie” is actually coming true! Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong are confirmed to star in Dan Harmon‘s Community movie at Peacock. Yvette Nicole Brown isn’t part of the official announcement, but she tweeted about it so I’m guessing she’ll at least cameo. McHale, who is an exec producer, also included Donald Glover in his tweet about it so hopefully he comes back in some capacity too. (I’m guessing there’s no chance in hell Chevy Chase was even approached.)

-McHale also accidentally tagged Gillian Anderson instead of Gillian Jacobs, but Anderson rolled with it.

Anne Heche‘s eldest son is fighting with her ex-husband James Tupper over control of her estate.

-Jurassic World Dominion director Colin Trevorrow called the franchise “inherently un-franchisable” saying, “There probably should have only been one Jurassic Park.” He still cashed the cheque though, I assume.

-You think you need a break? Nick Cannon just welcomed baby No. 10.

Trevor Noah announced he will be leaving The Daily Show after 7 years as host during Thursday’s episode. “I realized after the seven years, my time is up, but in the most beautiful way.”

-Is this yet another sign that late night is in trouble?

-The NYT gave Lea Michele‘s performance in Funny Girl and incredibly positive review. “Both vulnerable and invulnerable, kooky and ardent, she makes the show worth watching again.”

-This is a fascinating interview with Billy Eichner on body image, masculinity, and dating.

-Also, I love that Chris Evans is hyping up Bros.

-This is an excellent review of Blonde and how it’s a hollow impersonation of Marilyn Monroe. “Why are women so often called to represent things rather than be things in film?

-The stars showed up for George and Amal Clooney‘s inaugural Albie Awards last night.

-This is the best story about Coolio I’ve ever read.

Yorgos Lanthimosupcoming film just cast Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, and Margaret Qualley.

-Speaking of Margaret Qualley, she and Joe Alwyn embark on a dangerous relationship in the first trailer for Claire Denis‘ erotic thriller Stars at Noon.
