Harry Styles covers Rolling Stone‘s latest issue and talks about his sex scenes in My Policeman (“So much of gay sex in film is two guys going at it, and it kind of removes the tenderness from it”), his future with acting (“I like doing it in the moment, but I don’t think I’ll do it a lot”), and his fans’ intense reactions to his love life (“Can you imagine… going on a second date with someone and being like, ‘OK, there’s this corner of the thing, and they’re going to say this, and it’s going to be really crazy, and they’re going to be really mean, and it’s not real.… But anyway, what do you want to eat?’ “)

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams got married over the weekend, and her Modern Family costars Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ariel Winter, Noland Gould and Jesse Tyler Ferguson were among the guests.

-Speaking of weddings, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had a big wedding bash in Georgia this weekend among friends, including Matt Damon and Kevin Smith. There’s a lot of talk about it taking place at Affleck’s house, which was was built in 2000 but “designed by an Atlanta architect to resemble a southern plantation.” Ugh.

-This is a great, candid interview with John Boyega, who talks about not being afraid to speak out about political issues, how he felt when his Star Wars role kept getting smaller, and what advice he’s gotten from this famous friends: “I invited Daniel Kaluuya to my house [during the pandemic] because I was thinking about a lot of stuff. We had a sit-down and I told him everything about how I felt. And it was so simple, the way he reacted. He was like, “Yeah. You need to prioritize the work, and work with people that actually fuck with you.”

Andrew Garfield defended Method Acting on Marc Maron‘s podcast, and described going celibate and fasting while preparing to shoot Silence. The pair also have a serious and moving conversation about grief.

-This is an interest piece on TV’s big fantasy gamble. HBO, Netflix, Amazon and AMC are shelling out small fortunes to compete in a landscape in which cinematic production value and spectacle are seen as preconditions for top-tier success.

-Speaking of which, The Sandman is Netflix’s top show — but that may not be enough to secure a renewal. Neil Gaiman confirmed what was long rumoured — Netflix judges a show’s “success” by how fast people watch/complete it. It’s a shame for a series like this because I’ve really grown to like but it feels like an impossible binge to me. Definitely a ‘take your time with this one’ watch.

-Meanwhile, it’s a gamble that seems to be paying off for HBO, at least. Last night, House of The Dragons had the biggest series premiere for an HBO original in history.

-The show is, however, getting criticism for its depiction of women from its male creative team.

-Wait, a Community movie might actually happen?

Jordan Elsass did a Cameo and talked about why he quit Superman & Lois, saying, “I know that I was pumped for Season 3, for sure, but what are you going to do? Anyway, mental health is definitely 100-percent priority. It’s pinnacle. It’s got to take precedence. And mine has been … the last couple of years … it’s been rough. I need some time to myself. I’m still debating whether I’m even going to act for a while. I may go in a different direction. I know that’s definitely going to be disappointing to some people, not even just like fans, but just like people in my close circle.”

-This is such an ugly, cynical piece about the recent wave of artists and athletes who are taking a break from social media or promotion for their mental health.
