Kid Cudi Is Ready to Move On

Kid Cudi on the cover of Esquire

Kid Cudi is on the cover of Esquire and talks about the highs and lows of the last few years, going from rehab and at a mental health low-point to now having new music, a new tour, and a new show called Entergalactic. He addresses Kanye West, who turned on him for being friends with Pete Davidson (“I’m not one of your kids. I’m not Kim. It don’t matter if I’m friends with Pete or not. None of this shit had anything to do with me. If you can’t be a grown man and deal with the fact that you lost your woman? That’s not my fucking problem”), and says he suffered from a stroke while he was in rehab for depression and suicidal urges (“Everything was f–ked”).

-Mad Men’s Vincent Kartheiser has filed for divorce from Gilmore Girls’ Alexis Bledel after 8 years of marriage.

-More drama for the CW. Superman & Lois will recast Jonathan Kent for season three after series regular Jordan Elsass reportedly did not arrive in Vancouver by the deadline given to the cast. This is a pretty huge recast, especially since his role got pretty meaty last season. Sources tell Deadline that producers had become aware of health issues (possibly mental) that the actor was facing. There’s also some speculation that he didn’t meet Canada’s vaccination requirements. (Meanwhile, the guy who plays his TV brother no longer follows him on Insta.)

-When I was watching Pushing Daisies if someone had told me that Lee Pace would someday become the most lusted-after man on the internet, I would not have believed it. But I love that he’s leaning into it.

-This is an interesting look at the internet’s mean-spirited obsession with Florence Pugh and Zach Braff’s relationship.

-Director Chris Weitz says he rejected Taylor Swift’s request to appear in Twilight: New Moon. “The hardest thing for me was to be like, the moment that Taylor Swift walks onto the screen, for about five minutes, nobody is going to be able to process anything. I kick myself for it too, because – I was like, wow, I could’ve been hanging out with Taylor Swift. She must have been like, ‘Who is this jerk?’ But sometimes you make decisions thinking this is for the best of the film.”

-Speaking of Twilight, Taylor Lautner says his fiancée Taylor Dome will take his last name — so she will also be named Taylor Lautner.

-The reviews for She-Hulk are better than I expected. Critics suggest it’s MCU’s first straight up comedy that gives Ally McBeal vibes, which sounds up my alley. And despite some shaky plotting and CGI, everyone loves Tatiana Maslany’s performance.

-The teaser for season two of Abbott Elementary is very cute.

-People are now starting to give Angelina Jolie the Amber Heard treatment for trying to “ruin” Brad Pitt‘s life. I’m very worried for Evan Rachel Wood if Marilyn Manson‘s defamation case goes forward.

-When Rachel Bilson was asked what she misses most about ex Bill Hader, she replied “His big dick.” This doesn’t surprise me in the least.

-Netflix’s first full trailer for Tim Burton‘s Wednesday takes the Addams family back to high school. This is a very good trailer.
