The Rings Of Power Looks Gorgeous

-The first trailer for Amazon’s upcoming LOTR prequel series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is incredibly expensive-looking.

-I find it interesting how different (and simultaneous) their marketing is from the new Game of Thrones show. House Of The Dragon is trying to sell us on one specific show; The Rings of Power is trying to sell us on an entire universe.

-Congrats to Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, who welcomed their second daughter.

-In a note posted to her Twitter account, Constance Wu says that after the outcry over her tweet about Fresh Off The Boat’s renewal, a fellow Asian actress sent her DMs telling her that she’d “become a blight on the Asian American community.” Wu says that she tried to end her life and “a friend found me and rushed me to the ER.”

-17-year-old actor Noah Schnapp talked to Variety about his hopes for Stranger Things’ final season, his drama with Doja Cat, and his character’s sexuality: “Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike.”

-Meanwhile, Doja really needs to take a step back from her socials.

Ryan Reynolds‘ marketing firm hit another home run with Christopher Meloni’s “naked” workout commercial for Peloton.

Eric Weinberg, the co-exec producer of Scrubs and Californication, was arrested for a series of rapes that took place between 2012-2019.

Nick Cannon says Mariah Carey was the one that got away. “I will never have a love like I had with Mariah. It was literally like a fairytale with Mariah so I would rather it just be that way. I appreciate that fantasy because if I tried to go back and it wasn’t the same, I’d be like, ‘Damn, I messed it up.’ But, if I had the opportunity, if it could be the way it was, I’m there.”

-I’d not traditional, but I dig Sophia Bush’s wedding dress.

Khloe Kardashian is having another baby with Tristan Thompson via surrogate — even though she dumped him.

-This NYT profile on Janeane Garofalo is excellent.

-I was skeptical when TMZ posted it, but now Variety is reporting that Armie Hammer is selling timeshares in the Caymans. “He is working at a cubicle. The reality is he’s totally broke, and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.” I don’t understand how he’s so broke — not just because he is an heir to a fortune, but because he was steadily working up until 2020.

Beyoncé has joined TikTok — and her entire catalog is now available to users.

Chris Evans is getting some flack for his latest red carpet look— it’s lazy but it also works? Zero notes.

-Hurrah! FX has renewed The Bear for a second season.

-June preps for battle with Serena in the new trailer for The Handmaid’s Tale.

Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan star as the two journalists who brought down Harvey Weinstein in the first trailer for She Said, a dramatic adaptation of the book by Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor. When Andre Braugher says “Go write. It’s time to write”? Chills.
