Jennifer Lopez’s Mindful Pronouns

-In a recent performance, Jennifer Lopez introduced her child Emme using gender neutral pronouns. “The last time we performed together was in a big stadium like this. I ask them to sing with me all the time, but they won’t. So this is a very special occasion. They are very, very busy. Booked. And pricey! It costs me when they come out. But they’re worth every single penny because they’re my favorite duet partner of all time.”

-This is awful: Canadian director Paul Haggis was arrested on sexual assault charges in Italy on Sunday after being accused a raping a woman over two days. . The Daily Beast reports the British woman told the police, “We were supposed to work together, but instead he raped me from Sunday evening to Wednesday.” She said he left her before dawn outside an airport, and gave her money to buy a plane ticket when the airport opened. A flight attendant found the alleged victim cowering in a corner of an airport in southern Italy with injuries a medical examiner says are compatible with horrific sexual violence. After surveying camera footage outside Haggis’ hotel room and the airport, authorities waited until the woman had safely left the country before arresting the director, who was in Italy for the Allora Fest. He’s been released under house arrest at a hotel and awaits an arraignment later this week.

-Also awful: two actors from the Netflix series The Chosen One we killed after a van connected to the production crashed in Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. Six crew members were also injured.

Harry Styles paused his concert, asking fans to be quiet so he could find his former school teacher in the crowd.

-So that report about Meghan Markle supposedly bullying palace staff won’t be released. If the report actually showed bullying, wouldn’t they be eager to release it?

Stephen Amell and his wife quietly welcomed their second child via surrogate last month.

-Apparently fanboys on Reddit are angry because Homelander on The Boys is a bad guy. What show have they been watching?? He’s been the baddie since the start.

-On the Smartless podcast, Bradley Cooper called out a famous director who once pointed to an actress and told him, “What world are we living in where you have seven nominations and she’s only got three?”  Said Cooper, “I’m like, ‘Bro, why are you such an a–hole?’ I would never f–king forget that. Go f–k yourself.”

-I’m not believing the rumors that Lea Michele is replacing Beanie Feldstein in Broadway’s Funny Girl until it’s reported by a reputable outlet, but man that would be wild.

Matthew Fox talked about why he retired from acting and why he came back for his new Peacock show. (Anyone else remember when his Lost costar Dominic Monaghan repeatedly accused Fox of “beating” women? Just me?)

-This is a good piece on how Wendy Williams changed daytime TV.

-There’s a lot of talk about how Lightyear underperformed at this weekend’s box office, but maybe that’s just the reality of the business now? It’s likely a combination of people getting used to watching Pixar movies on streaming, and the industry only able to support one blockbuster at a time.

-Warner Bros is still trying to figure out what to do with its Ezra Miller problem.

Emma Thompson is getting rave reviews for her performance as a middle aged woman who hires a sex worker in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (streaming now in Canada on Prime), so I wish she was just riding that high instead of turning up in a fat suit in the new Matilda trailer.

Patton Oswalt catfishes his son in the I Love My Dad trailer.
