Amber Heard Stands By “Every Word” of Testimony

-In her Today Show interview, Amber Heard told Savannah Guthrie, “To my dying day, I will stand by every word of my testimony.” (I find it very weird that she was interviewed by Guthrie, who admitted her husband did pre-trial “consulting work” for Depp’s team.)

-Also, reports that she is being cut from Aquaman 2 and her role will be recast are being refuted.

-Speaking of Aquaman, Jason Momoa and Eiza González have split.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt reunited 20 years after their broken engagement for a joint interview on her Goop website. He talked about their friendship (“It’s lovely to have you as a friend now…And I do love you”) and about her father Bruce‘s influence on him (“That man was funny. He was funny. And you guys were so funny together, ripping across the table, which was a rarity that I hadn’t experienced much, and I loved it. The fun you guys had was infectious. You could just see just how much he adored you”).

-It appears that Kim Kardashian did indeed damage the Marilyn Monroe dress. (I’d never actually seen this video of her getting squeezed into it while Pete Davidson watches on, but holy hell, of course the dress was damaged from that.) No wonder she released those vacay pics yesterday.

Lady Gaga is reportedly in talks to join Joker 2 as Harley Quinn — and the movie might be a musical! I hate every part of that sentence.

-Today’s Variety Actors on Actors pairing is Jared Leto and Amanda Seyfried, which makes sense because they both played fraudulent entrepreneurs on TV this year. He told her about the “top-secret” meeting he had with WeWork’s Adam Neumann, and she told him she wants Elizabeth Holmes to take more responsibility for her lies.

-It’s a big news week for Post Malone — he announced the birth of his daughter and his engagement.

Lizzo gave a very, very good apology and immediately took action to rectify the situation after she used an ableist slur in a song. But the anger seemed to be about more than that, no?

-Netflix just revealed that it completely missed the point of its own show by announcing a Squid Game reality show. 456 players will compete in a series of games for a record-setting $4.56 million cash prize.

Tom Hanks looked back on his career in this NYT profile, and threw shade on The Da Vinci Code sequels. “That was a commercial enterprise. Yeah, those Robert Langdon sequels are hooey. The Da Vinci Code was hooey. I mean, Dan Brown, God bless him, says, Here is a sculpture in a place in Paris! No, it’s way over there. See how a cross is formed on a map? Well, it’s sort of a cross. Those are delightful scavenger hunts that are about as accurate to history as the James Bond movies are to espionage…There’s nothing wrong with good commerce, provided it is good commerce. By the time we made the third one, we proved that it wasn’t such good commerce.”

-A group of 200 actors, producers and writers including Julianne Moore, Amy Schumer, Shonda Rhimes and Jimmy Kimmel signed a pledge agreeing to be “more mindful of onscreen gun violence.”

-This is the best spoilery review of Jurassic World Domination you’ll read.

Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short try to clear their names in the season two trailer for Only Murders in the Building.

-The trailer for Netflix’s Persuasion has finally dropped! They didn’t even attempt to de-glam Dakota Johnson to make her a believable Anne (if anything, she looks more stunning than ever). Plus, I was certainly not expecting her smirking or cheeky 4th-wall breaking when the source material is about devastating longing (“I am half agony, half hope”). But the secondary cast looks amazing and I’m here for any diverse Austen adaptation, so I’ll still devour it.
